  1. Pick 9: BPA or trade down as this draft covers our LG situation, WLB, an heir apparent for Byrd, a redzone threat, depth on the interior of the line and a #3 QB.

Pick 41: Gabe Jackson (#3 Guard overall- day one starter at LG)

    Pick 73: Telvin Smith WLB

Pick 105: I’ll copy BarelyNY and trade up for Ed Reynolds FS at 103

Pick 137: Brandon Coleman Big WR

Pick 169: Michael Schofield RT Michigan (Backup guard in NFL)

    Pick 201: Trade

    UDFA: Tajh Boyd

A real name that I hope we consider is Vernon Carey. Rumor had it that Carey was as good as done in Miami because of his contract, and he is one of the better RT in football. They signed Marc Colombo today which would lead me to believe that Carey is on his way out. This would be a nice signing. A very good football player who is better suited for RT, but can also play LT if injuries occur. Maybe Roscoe can lure him here as I know they were close in college. This would really make a very average off-season pretty damn good

Now THAT's a RT that would be worth going after! That's an upgrade right away. The way I see it, right now, a cap casualty is the only way we're getting a new Tackle. Vernon Carey would be an amazing pickup!

  3. I voted LB then OT, specifically RT.

I would draft Dareus, best avail ORT and then BPA LB.

FA- good year for a solid vet combo TE.(Bo Scaife?) Nelson is a TE/WR and Chandler is a TE/OL. Also, a LB to complement our 3rd rounder ie if we go ILB, sign a OLB or vice versa.

Poz is ok, Moats looks promising. Best of Batten, 3rd rounder, Merriman, FA LB and possibly Maybin or A. Davis for the other 2 spots.

  4. In our search for a dominating defense we cannot forget that we had a very hard time creating space for the run and revolving door at RT....

I completely agree. A legit RT would make this team better and we could find a long term starter in the second round. I don't necesssarily want someone who "could transition" to LT. I want a 335 lb, nasty, angry ROT who enjoys demolishing LB's while CJ gets to the corner. A man trained to ignore pain, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke.

Is #34 too high for a RT? Was #9 too high for CJ? Is Ed "Too Tall" Jones too tall?

  5. My co-worker's nephew plays for Clemson so he watches them every week. I asked him about Bowers before the game. I paraphrase but I heard "man among boys, real deal" etc.

I only watched part of the game and also was not that impressed. I expected Kiper's "best defensive player in college football" to be a one man wrecking crew against USF.

I don't care if we draft Bowers or Dareus or Fairley or Captain Twinkletoes. We need production vs. potential with our first pick.

Donte is a favorite whipping boy but at least he started 13 games as a rookie.

  6. First Round:

    1. Andrew Luck Unfortunately, not happening.

2a. Nick Fairley Leave it to the scouts

2b. Marcel Dareus to determine which guy

2c. DaQuan Bowers will be a playmaker on D.

    2d. Robert Quinn

3a. A.J. Green BPA theory- trade down?

    3b. Patrick Peterson

    4. Ryan Mallett Potenial franchise QB?

    Second Round:

1a. The biggest, nastiest ROT on the board pref. from Mich, Wisc, Iowa etc.

    2a. Cam Newton

  7. It all depends on this last draft class. IF Troupe, Moats and Carrington all become starter material and we get a difference maker with our first round pick, that's possibly 4 new starters in our defensive front seven. Take a starting ROT in the second and we would be much better. IMHO

Easley and Batten will be like bonus mid round picks.

  8. Here's a lttle education for you.

"The CDC says that studies that indict particular breeds are unreliable. Dr. Randall Lockwood of the ASPCA calls the focus on specific breeds, "a 19th century epidemiological mindset." That's good enough for me. It ought to be good enough for Dr. Wulkan."

"Most reporters and scientists just don't dig into the more subjective territory of circumstances, such as whether the dog was spayed or neutered, injured, chained, or left unsupervised with children — all non-breed specific factors that can lead to dog bites"

    http://animals.change.org/blog/view/are_dog_bite_statistics_reliable

You should drill down on your stats a little further and look at where/how these Pit Bulls/Rottys are bread and raised.

My brother's raised 5 babies around 2 Rottys and 3 Pit Bulls without one incident. Countless family functions, kid's birthday parties and holidays with 20-30 kids running around like maniacs hanging on the dogs and not one incident.

It's all in how they're raised.

Awesome! Since genetics don't matter, I can buy my nephew that wolf cub he's always wanted.

  9. There are so many things incorrect about this statement, I dont even know where to begin.

The odds that a bite victim will be a child are 3.2 to 1. (CDC.)

According to Clifton study, pit bulls, Rottweilers, Presa Canarios and their mixes were responsible for 65% of the canine homicides that occurred during a period of 24 years in the USA.

But you're right, the OP did us "to" incorrectly.

  10. I am going to put what I think may happen and I would like to see what people have to say. Let's notmturn this into draft a rb, another cb, or something dumb about how the bills suck, nix sucks, Ralph is dumb.... I don't care about any of that.

So let's say the bills pick third behind Arizona and Cleveland which is completely possible. Sub whatever teams you would like but they both need a qb so I will use them.

Let's say mallet and luck get taken (if luck even come out) locker doesn't grade out as first round talent. Where do we go? To memthe line didn't seem like the worst in the league yesterday. I think bell is decent and green needs to be replaced. Do we use our first pick on a right tackle? Do we reach for a qb because the top 2 are gone? I think we go line backer for someone that will create hell for opponents.

What does everyone else think draft wise? Also where do we go for qb if this happens next year?

  11.

If we drafted Maybin this year (same spot) and this was his rookie season, given his preseason play thus far as a "rookie", how does he look?

I would say he looks pretty good for a "rookie" and has some potential. Even if a bulk of his time isn't against starters.

So I compare him to this year's first rounder, CJ Spiller. Umm, what was your point again?

  12. Meat on a stick

Beef: London Broil(flank steak)/ NY strip; Chicken: Tenderloins/ Breast depending on budget.

Pre-slice and skewer, marinate overnight in "Allegro" marinade. (I usually tweak the marinade with additional spices.) Grill to perfection. If I am going all out, I top the beef with a whole mushroom cap and the chx with a cherry tomato.

Cold dip: Bag o' shredded cheddar, diced jalapenos (incl. juice) and Miracle Whip. Serve with Fritos Scoops. (I was skeptical at first, too.)

I assume you are already serving Johnsonville brats with diced onion and spicy brown mustard on potato buns.

  13. I picked 4 teams at random (Texans, Saints, Ravens, Seahawks) and looked at first & second rounders from 2005-2008. All 4 teams had a hit rate for starters between 78% and 85%. I was generous with the grades ie McKelvin got half a point as the nickel back. I eliminated a guy from the Ravens who blew out his knee in TC his first season etc.

The Bills were a lowly 54% over the same period.

It's a tiny sample size but clearly indicates either a lack of talent or poor philosophy in the scouting department.

  14. I was raised on Frank's and butter but margarine makes sense. Sometimes the sauce is too creamy with butter. I would try 50/50.

By necessity, I've used Durkee's, Texas Pete etc.

Usually, I split the sauce in half and add some heat. ie red pepper flakes, ground red pepper, jalapeno juice, whatever's available.

This also keeps the women/children/rookies from eating too many of my wings.

When you inhale and tear up, it's perfect.

I acutally have a friend who GRILLS wings. Before you call him a heretic, I must say he slow cooks them to start, then bastes with oil to crisp them up and uses the traditional sauce. On a standard grill, he can serve up 6 dozen at a time.

What kind of vinegar? and how much?

  15. I agree, it's horrifying. The dresses are way sluttier than at the Emmy's.

They have no talent SI swimsuit models as presenters.

It should be more like the Oscar's where performance takes second place to politics.

Oops, it's almost nine. I have... things to do.

  16. Honestly, I don't get all the Josh bashing. 8 years, only missed 12 games. Much better rookie production than fellow second round WR's Parrish and Hardy. 39 catches/year primarily as a slot guy on mediocre teams. He's no Pro Bowler but he wasn't a bust either.

It's hard to fathom his blocking skills are worse that our current #3 (Parrish)

Time will tell but I believe we have plenty of upside with Hardy/Johnson/Jackson/Nelson.

I would have been happier with Reed and (Jason Fox/Geno Atkins/Eric Norwood/ AJ Edds) instead of Easley.
