  1.

You left out the receiver continuously pushing off via the DB's facemask.

Yup -- pretty clear too. Probably should have been offsetting penalties.

"Mutual Combat"? Ok, I can clearly see your point but it is also clear that the defender initiated this battle by the immediate jersey grab and pull, trying to keep the WR from gaining separation. That should have been "Illegal Contact" right there, but hey...It's the playoffs so I can see them maybe letting that part go, but the arm grab and "tackle"...Damn you gotta call something on that, otherwise what were all those penalties on Gilmore for when he was doing a lot less than that? On the other hand, I saw something today on either Sportscenter or NFL network that really made me think. Commentator stated that if if the QB had just put an "arc" on the pass instead of throwing it flat, the defender really has no play on the ball there, he even drew it out on the screen and I was like "Dang, he's right". So therefore the whole damn thing is Stafford's fault lol.

  2. Like?

    1. The 1st grab on the jersey that lasted for 4yds(ok, illegal contact).

    2. Arm grabbing and continued contact until the ball arrived right after #1.

    3. Defender never ever even fakes looking for ball and runs flat over WR (damn near a tackle).

Players should ask NFL for decision on whether it is now legal to pass defend in this manner. (This would instantly turn Gilmore into a superstar).

  3. Really?

And theres no denying Cam has had a disappointing NFL career to this point, considering where he was drafted and how much hype he had.

True but look at the team he's playing on. Don't you think that if we had been able to get an equivalent level of "disappointing" QB play this year we would be playing this weekend too? I do.

  4. Cam Newton is simply not that good. He gets fan fare because he ends up throwing for a billion yards but he is inaccurate, makes poor decisions, cannot get the ball in tight spots, panics and sees ghosts in the backfield and often times makes a bad situation worse. When he is able to pull a rabbit out of his butt and scramble for yards to pick up a first he has often done so neglecting to see that he had at least one option open down field for a larger gain. From Steve Smith being open 15+ yards down field and Newton unable or unwilling to throw it to him to Benjamin only being able to jump so far to try to grab his errant throws; Cam Newton is just barely a top 15 QB in this league at at the bottom end of actual QB ability in the true starter category.

The myth that is Newton is simply that he has thrown for so many yards that you forget what he hasn't done and you forget that he makes far more mistakes then a starting QB should. Wanting anything to do with his style of play to be reflected in our starter is horribly scary.

His fanboys will say that his OL was awful, he had no run support, and he didn't have many weapons down field. That can all be true if you just generalize, but the truth is he played QB horribly this year and fell off his emergence that Dorsey helped him achieve from 2013.

If we want someone to mold Manuels game after it would be Wilson or Tannehill.

If he's so awful how come he's playing today?

  5. I think NE is throwing this game, it's just too easy.

Too many times the Bills have looked good in the 1st half against the Pats only to choke in the 2nd.

    Just too easy

BB is letting Bills win so Marrone keeps his job. He want to keep Marrone in the AFC East. "

There were just too many running plays in the 1st half that failed miserably against lesser teams that were suddenly good for 1st downs, Orton with all day long to throw the ball. Always enjoyable to watch us win especially against these guys. I'm just not convinced that tthey are really trying today.

  6. If Beckham was on Bills instead of NY, you better believe he wouldn't be putting up the same numbers. There is no way our butthead of an offensive coordinator would know now to utilize his talent, just like they have wasted Sammy.

Sammy does not get the same focus as Mike Williams and Beckham have gotten on their respective teams. I hate Hackett and hope that sob is gone for being such a terrible coach. Listening to interviews, he implies that his scheme works and blames bad luck and player execution

If Beckham were on the Bills he'd surely be on IR by now after being nearly broken in half by a defender while trying to stretch out and catch some ridiculously under/over thrown/wildly off target pass.

  7. thats not true at all. There were plenty of options for our RBs. I saw CJ make the wrong decision at least 3 times today. Going one way when he should have went the other. It's no different than his entire career. He's a terrible decision maker and now his physical abilities are not only dwindling, were finding out that the defenses facing him are just as gifted and talented yet they don't make stupid decisions.

I see that differently. If CJ cuts that run inside of Urbik, he likely runs for at least 10 of not more. Urbik was pushing the defender outside. Yet CJ takes the outside and shouldn't. Run inside that block and the blocks would have been downfield for a big gain.

When I first saw this play live during the game I would have agreed with you. Looked like a bad or possibly cowardly decision by CJ to run out of bounds. Now that I can see this again, absolutely no one is blocked on this "screen play" except for the guy #14 is on. He runs outside it's 2 yards, he runs it inside it's 2 yards plus pain.
