  1. I know there was another thread on here but I wanted to just bring this to light in a way that only a person that has buried a child can. Whether or not you agree with his politics he's hurting in the most indescribable way right now. No one should ever have to watch their child die.

All of us here at Two Bills Drive are with you Joe. And we all hope you can weather the coming grief that never really ever goes away.

When you lose a child you can never really get over it. You can only get through it.

Peace to all of you here at PPP and I hope to be able to post more this coming summer now that I'm done with classes.

  2. I love the endless whining about this board's leanings. There are about 12 conservatives here; difference is it's the same 12 from ten years ago.

Meanwhile we've had dozens of left wingers come and go. TPS and Pasta Joe are among the few who's stuck around. Union lover pBills faded away, RCow never came back after his infamous 2004 election predictions, posters like blzrul and Coli and others disappeared once they didn't have Bush to complain about (or where too embarrassed to defend Obama), etc., etc. We'll see some of them back next time a Republican wins the WH.

Of course there's always a molson golden/conner/gator full retard on rotation to help with the good fight.

I'm back. By popular demand!! :nana:

  3. I am sorry to hear about your loss. During your absence there was no shortage of nonsense on this board, but you were missed.

Being a big fat guy you should just jump all the way in and make a splash.

Unfortunately I'm not fat anymore. I was 240 when I opened my account to the Buffalo Bills message board. Now I'm 5"7' and 155lbs. I literally ran my ass off :D

  4. 1) Because international air travel doesn't work that way. Duncan flew to the US via Brussels...should we institute an air travel ban for Belgium, too? How about England, since lots of flights connect through Heathrow? Or the Netherlands? How many countries do we have to institute a travel ban for, for it to work?

    2) The threat is becoming very over-sensationalized. Ebola does not spread easily. I'll let you look up why and how that is, since you won't believe me...but I will point out that even double the confirmed 8000 cases and 4000 deaths in six months is NOT a highly transmissible disease. Travel bans are serious overkill for a minimal threat.

    3) If you're going to blame Obama for this, take it to PPP so I can abuse you properly.

One of the few times I have to agree with Tom. Dammit Tom!!

  5. Hello all my friends at PPP. As you know I've been away for a while. (though most probably didn't really mind that much LOL :D)

This past May my four year old daughter Coraline passed away from a severe strep infection that spread through her body. It's been hard since to pay attention to world events and come here to discus them. For those of you that pray, I would ask that you pray for my family as we are navigating through this difficult time. Over the next few weeks I'll start dipping my feet back into the water here.

Hope you are all doing well. Even you 3rd.

  6. I agree. I can't think of another sport that has such a non-competitive play. And the kick-off is becoming a close second.

    -- Narrow the goal posts

-- Move the kick-off back 5 yards to where it was

-- and actually Bellichek had a good idea about extra points to make them more interesting. Take your pick; 2pt conversion from the 2yd line or kick extra point from the 20 yd line

Its not sport if a play is designed to be non-competitive...

Even the 20 yard line is almost automatic in the league now. But here's something to chew on. Sorry if someone already come up with it:

No field goals allowed within the 20 yard line. Once you're in the red zone you either score a TD or turn the ball over.

  7. So what's the deal? Did he really not blow up schools and libraries? Or did he blow up children but for some reason it's okay? If the latter, why is it okay?

I never heard anything about blowing up schools. But I do know that when he was younger he was in favor of a violent revolt to end Apartheid.

  8. How does everybody feel about Barry Sanders, btw? He took a signing bonus from the team then walked out on them when he decided it was clear they weren't committed to winning... He did this in the offseason, but it still tarnishes his legacy a bit.

I think it does tarnish his legacy a bit, but in the end people remember him as one of the best, if not the best, running backs ever to play the game. But he was right. The team was not committed to winning.

  9. Glad he's OK. I'm here in Houston and generally speaking, on most days (especially Mondays) he's public enemy number one (perhaps he and Schaub share that title). I was glad to see the amount of concern that fellow Houstonians displayed last night and today.

Feeling like someone is a bad coach is far from wishing them dead. I don't care how much I dislike a coach or player. I would never wish them dead. I'm sure that's how most Houstonians feel.

  10. You know, I can respect his decision. We forget sometimes that the NFL is a job for these guys the same way our jobs are for us. He isn't hurting anyone by walking away. The worst is there is less depth on the O-line. And a guy playing without real passion for the game may be a bigger liability to the team than the guy that walks away just because he's not happy playing the game anymore.

It's his right to do what he chooses.

It would be different if this was the military and he quit on his brothers in arms during a firefight, or refused to deploy. Then I think we could pass some judgment on his character over it.

But the NFL is a job like any other. I would quit if I was unhappy in my job, why shouldn't a NFL player be able to do the same?

You're treating dissimilar situations as though they were similar. A football player is basically and employee who signs a contract to complete a 17-21 week project. There is a possibility that circumstances may arise where the project manager may have to replace the contractor, but the contractor gets paid for the full project regardless. And if I contracted you to a 17-21 week project, you agreed, and then up and quit midway through while I still had potential need of your services, then yes, I'd say you were a jerk off too.

But what if this person you hired for said project was so unhappy doing it that he may be a liability to others on the job as far as safety and moral? Wouldn't you rather that person walked away than force that kind of risk on you?

  11. I just bought Madden 25 the other day and when I checked on rating for bills players EA has him rated at 78 overall? Do these guys even watch football? He's a 90 at the very least. Even his "awareness" hasn't come up much since the release of the game and he's one of the most instinctive LBs playing the game today.

    Talk about a total diss.

I didn't see a forum for games. Mods feel free to move if in the wrong place. But I think it belongs here because his rating speaks for how the rest of the league as well as EA views our team.

  12. Generally they have not put CJ and Freddie on the field at the same time. I dont understand why that is not done.

Actually Gailey would line both Jackson and Spiller on the same play. Usually one is out wide and the other in the backfield.

CJ is more of a scat back not a power back. He isnt designed to play in the short yardage plays--especially a 3rd and gola on the 1 or 4th and inches. In short yardage plays you are going against bigger players.

Today he isnt 100% so him getting caught in a pile like this is a risk and he doesnt have the strength given the ankle sprain to do a leap over pile.

If you are talking of having CJ and Freddie in the backfuield in a short yardage play ---who will block for who? You want the second back a blocking back to lead the way on a designed run.

I have an answer. Kiko Alonso. What the hell, he's a beast everywhere else on the field why not give him the Fullback spot on a 3rd and goal at the 1. Talk about a player that has heart.
