He’s already a lock. A prediction I made after he threw an INT in the endzone in his second NFL game vs the Chargers.

If established, starting NFL vets (minus evergreen speed freaks like Darrell Green) are demonstrably slower after several years in the league, doesn't that legitimately deprioritize combine and pro day 40 times overall? Modern pre-draft speed training isn't exactly correlated with on-field impacts. Losing weight and training 3-point get-offs to trim hundredths off your 40 isn't exactly preparing these rookies for the rigors of an NFL campaign. The fact that NFL vets are potentially several tenths slower than their younger counterparts actually proves that 40 times are arbitrary, provided those vets are still legitimate starters. One can run a "meh" 40 but still have more than enough speed. NFL history is filled with 4.5+ guys who consistently dominated.
Every GM, personnel director, and scout I’ve ever known over the years understands this well. 40 times, vertical jumps, broad jumps are used primarily to gauge athletic explosiveness which are key indicators for talent evaluators. That aspect of the combine’s utility means it won’t be de-prioritized by those charged with evaluating various results.
Edit: I meant to add that in addition to the various explosion events, those talent evaluators also look closely at the stamina events as well. Like the bench press for example. There’s just so much more than just looking at prospects in shorts.

Can’t disagree with you there. I’m pretty sure the target market is NOT an ‘average middle class family’.
Hasn’t been for years now. And that’s a league wide reality.

Da'Rick Rogers.
Perhaps the greatest combination of physical gifts and lack of football sense in history. He had zero clue of how routes are run in tandem with other receivers on the field and would routinely run coverage into other routes and take away those options. It was almost comical.

Yes, silly you for thinking that a conversation about financial investment has something to do with other random types of non-financial investment.I can’t help it if you don’t appreciate nuance when it has been obvious throughout this thread that different people have been assigning other value to their purchases over and above the “financial investment” you’ve been harping on throughout.

The poster was talking about financial investment. He specifically talked about earning money through selling games.
Of course the term “investment” can be applied in many facets, such as investing in your health - but we aren’t talking about that type of investment so it seems silly to even mention it.
Glad you understand that profit is measured in different ways for different things by different people. You may think it silly of me to mention that, but since you’ve been harping on the financial aspects of the PSLs and the sales thereof for a while now, I thought you could use the reminder. Silly me.

No it's not.
An investment implies the earning of profit. In terms investment for financial profit, yes. In terms of investment for other things one values and enjoys, no.

Saw an interview with him some years back.
He listed off all the great accomplishments of his career, then said the first thing anybody would say to him was "Hey, you're the guy who ran the wrong way!!" He said it took him a long time to just embrace it, instead of stewing over it.
RIP
It’s a shame he felt any remorse over the “wrong way” play because he more than made up for that throughout his career. Marshall, Larsen, Eller, and Page have a permanent place in league history.

Gonna see more man to man coverage to support more aggressive pressure schemes. Not much against the Ravens though; you just can’t turn your back on Lamar very often.

I believe it’s going to be a nice venue with updated amenities and great site lines, but aesthetically, it’s just ugly.
The dipsy-doodle canopy looks like a deflated bicycle tire. I do wonder if the shadows will play tricks with TV cameras.
For me, the current stadium is more majestic, and just prettier- having a bit of the look of a traditional college football stadium.
For $2.2B they could have built something with a bit more style on the facade.None of the facade has been hung yet so I’m not sure how we can critique it or are you just going by previously released artist renderings?

There is a workaround that they use for events there. Basically, very large blackout curtains. But Jerrah, for whatever reason, doesn’t allow them to be used during Cowboys games. 🤷♂️God still needs to be able see the Cowboys play, apparently.

At least they did not build the stadium so you're looking directly at the sun during a drive, like the Cowboys did.
No shade: Why the Cowboys' sun issues are unique to Dallas - ESPN
That’s why the vast majority of stadiums are oriented in a predominant north/south direction.

Imo, four division winners in each conference should get a bye and there should be four WC teams in each conference as well. Division winners with crappy records and WC teams with better records is irrelevant. Winning your division is job one every year and a team shouldn’t be penalized for playing in a weak division. Likewise, a non-division winner in a stronger division shouldn’t be rewarded for not being able to win it, either. Just my two cents.

Beane said Hancock will play NCB and safety. I'm hoping that Hardy seizes the NCB role and allows them to play Hancock exclusively at S.
Hancock is our new, more athletic Micah Hyde in a couple years.

I hope he plays like Max Crosby, but, from a looks perspective, I can’t decide on who Landon Jackson reminds me of most - Xerxes from 300, Styr from Game of Thrones, Agent 47 from the Hitman video game, other? Just can’t put my finger on it.
