  1. Chevy Chase:

Last week we made the comment that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Now here to reply is our chief meteorologist, John Belushi, with a seasonal report.

    John Belushi:

Thank you Chevy. Well, another winter is almost over and March true to form has come in like a lion, and hopefully will go out like a lamb. At least that's how March works here in the United States.

But did you know that March behaves differently in other countries? In Norway, for example, March comes in like a polar bear and goes out like a walrus. Or, take the case of Honduras where March comes in like a lamb and goes out like a salt marsh harvest mouse.

Let's compare this to the Maldive Islands where March comes in like a wildebeest and goes out like an ant. A tiny, little ant about this big.

[holds thumb and index fingers a small distance apart]

Unlike the Malay Peninsula where March comes in like a worm-eating fernbird and goes out like a worm-eating fernbird. In fact, their whole year is like a worm-eating fernbird.

Or consider the Republic of South Africa where March comes in like a lion and goes out like a different lion. Like one has a mane, and one doesn't have a mane. Or in certain parts of South America where March swims in like a sea otter, and then it slithers out like a giant anaconda.

There you can buy land real cheap, you know. And there's a country where March hops in like a kangaroo, and stays a kangaroo for a while, and then it becomes a slightly smaller kangaroo. Then, then, then for a couple of days it's sort of a cross between a, a frilled lizard and a common house cat.

[Chevy Chase tries to interrupt him]

Wait wait wait wait. Then it changes back into a smaller kangaroo, and then it goes out like a, like a wild dingo. Now, now, and it's not Australia! Now, now, you'd think it would be Australia, but it's not!

[Chevy Chase tries to interrupt him]

Now look, pal! I know a country where March comes in like an emu and goes out like a tapir. And they don't even know what it means! All right? Now listen, there are nine different countries, where March comes in like a frog, and goes out like a golden retriever. But that- that's not the weird part! No, no, the weird part is, is the frog. The frog- The weird part is-

  2. I think Jauron is a good choice. Like the competition for QB. Think the right decision was made in MW being let go. Have confidence in the draft.

What bother me is, all confidence Levy and Wilson said they had in Mularchy---yet many players have said that the coaches and players were not on the same page (ie Spikes, Clements, and then the obvious with Moulds and Adams).

I hope that Levy was bluffing and they made things so difficult that it pushed Mularchy to re-sign. If Levy and Wilson were not bluffing then we should question there choice's of character.

The truth is that we will never really know- until Levy writes another book.

    Comments??

  3. Pittsburgh game was great especially if you had a Pittsburgh fan with you and seeing someone with something invested in game.

Most of those listening to the games via the internet " sites have a free trial so save the coins, sign up and cancel.

Go to the Sports Cafe in Piccidily Circus on Haymarket Sq or Street to watch the games. If its too crowded, try Cheers.

  4. Last year I found a site, where I could put in the number of teams, the point structure of the league, and an excel program spit out the top 100-200 players overall. Was wondering if anyone has a link or could email me a similar program.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  5. Grimaldi's was good, but in its hey day Totonno's in Coney Island was even better.

Agreed. Totonno's is the best-- but if hanging around the City,

Grimaldi's is possible, Totonno's is a bit away- and you should really know where you are if looking for Totonnos.

  6. Best Pizza (patsy Grimaldi's) just over the brooklyn bridge (yes in Brooklyn) some of the best views of the city from the promenade.

Mexican- try Ariba, Ariba @ 50th and 9th or 10th Ave. fun attosmphere (club type music- low lights) and good food.

  7. It depends on you. If you can do the work and really want to do it and can then a fixer upper can be good. I had a house did substantial improvements, throughout the house- thing is before I had a house - watched this old house, had handy relatives and thought I could do. Learned quickly I could not do the work- had to rely heavily on family- and also put a strain on my marriage.

If I had to do it again, I would buy new.

Best advice I got and did not follow- buy a house you love.

As an aside, leave LI, NJ is cheaper and newer.

  8. I am looking for you to explain the leap in lahjik to go from:

"yet elite New York City sends the nationwide lowest percentage of Americans to the fight"

    to

    "no New Yorkers have died."

You are complaining that I am ignoring "instead allowing" while you have no trouble dismissing "yet elite New York City sends the nationwide lowest percentage of Americans to the fight" in your argument. Nothing like bitching about not taking things in context of the entire post, while not taking things in context of the entire post.

Both complaints have a degree of truth to them- the most important thing by this tread is to remember the country is extremely divided over the war- and no one wants any more heros (let the boys be safe). Would I hope Iraq could be a democracy- of course so. Would I encourage the idea and desert my wife and daughter over it- of course not- especially since we dont know what the outcome will be. It is a volunteer army right now- although I fully support volunteers that would choose not to go and fulfill any so-called obligation. Getting a loan, some college money, or even 100k a year doesnt obligate you to put yourself at risk for something you dont believe 100% in- or even 52%. Remember governments can be wrong (aka Germany during WW2, US during Vietnam, Iraq leading to the first war). There is no infallible government, just like there is no infallible church. By the way the US is the greatest country ever- and would probably die for its benefit (although I hope this day would never come), but Iraq is not the US.
