  1. If he's injured, he's injured. By not disclosing a previous post mentioned depression. That's a plausible assertion, but I don't want to know. That's up to him and if that is the case, let the guy get better. He wouldn't be the only one on an anti-depressant in the NFL.

I always liked him so hope he is ok. This could be nothing more than a back injury which is common with O Lineman, and may be just fine.

What I like is the amt of depth just added to the team, and now let them compete. I trust Whaley and Marrone.

Ya, back injuries are never that bad ;)
  2. These puff articles about new coaches, training techniques, change of scenery, etc are a dime a dozen. How could we forget the one in the Buffalo News about John McCargo's rebirth under Bill Kollar. There is no substitute for experience and hard work but you also need talent to succeed in the NFL, especially at QB. Look no farther than Ryan Fitzpatrick or JP Losman.

He is far more phisicly gifted than Shitzpatrick or looserman
  3. Now that the smoke has cleared a bit, go on record and say who you feel the biggest offensive and defensive busts will be in the draft. Remember to take into account where they were selected and by which team.

    Defense:

Anthony Barr - #9 Overall - Minnesota Vikings - I was shocked by this pick. Thought they'd go Donald or CB for sure. He reminds me a bit of Dion Jordan and he didn't show anything on the field in his rookie campaign. Top 10 for Anthony was a big stretch in my opinion.

    Offense:

Brandin Cooks - #20 Overall - New Orleans Saints - Small, very small receiver. 5'10, 190 listed, but he looks smaller than that to me. I think he has a very difficult time getting off the press coverages and it's recognized early. CBs seem to be getting more and more leeway when it comes to playing physical and I don't think Cooks will translate at all. Sure, he may benefit from his QB play, but he will clearly be targeted after Colston and Graham and will still be sharing balls with Stills, Meachum, Thomas. By the time he's high up on that depth chart, Brees may be gone.

Benjamin no doubt, bad hands, dumb, slow and Shazer Pittsburg, juiced and small (Aaron Maybin)
  4. I almost made the same thread but worried I would get scolded.

I would say 4th round, definitely consider it.

4th is about right, he has better career nubers that the rest of this group.
  5. Many times I feared that the Bills would draft a particular player who I could strongly sense would not win us football games. A few examples are:

    Leodis McKelvin

    Stephon Gilmore

    CJ Spiller

Some may argue that they are "good." Our won/loss record begs to differ and tells us that this doesn't matter.

There were some players that I did tend to over-rate. This is because I am not a professional GM.

There were others that I didn't think that any team would be stupid enough to draft high, such as Donte Whitner. The 2006 draft was my worst day as a Bills fan.

Well, this year, my biggest nightmare is Sammy Watkins. I see him as a possible flashy gadget player ala Spiller, which is the very last team this team needs. The thought of trading UP for him makes me cringe, and I guarantee that it will NOT result in winning football games. That said, it seems to be a real possibility :(.

So, what do I hope for? A QB (because I have little faith in Manuel), or an Offensive Tackle. An OT would increase the odds of Manuel being good imo. The absolute dumbest thing the Bills can do would be to trade up for Watkins. That said, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they did this.

I wish all of my fellow Bills Fans a productive draft. We really do deserve one this time. Have fun all!

    GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, I said we should have taken Russelll Wilson two years ago right after they passed on him and i took much grief for this. We will pass on Johnny football and be shocked as he leads Cleveland (with the second pick) to years of playoff excitment.
  6. I like Mayock but he's just another talking head as far as I'm concerned. None of these guys have any clue how the draft is going to go let alone who the first pick will be. If Houston takes a QB then all hell will break loose. If JAX does, then same scenario. I'm curious as o their "grades" on players, but I find it odd that all of the talking heads have similar grades on their top 50, almost like they feed off each other.. LOL

    Tim-

I agree, path to the draft has been on for about ten years why don't they have a segment called your mock draft 2004, 2005, etc. The reason is it would reveal how very wrong they are most of the time.
  7. I really think they do want to trade up. I dont think its pure smoke and mirrors. There's nothing to be gained by announcing that you want to trade up, except playing the upper teams against each other to earn your business, which is good.

And I think they want MACK. That would be such a feel-good story for the fans.

And here is your smoke, to back up my feeling its MACK. From PFT today:

“I’ve heard from three league sources in the past week that the Bills are trying to trade up,” McShay writes. “If they do make a move, it’ll likely be to land Clowney, Robinson or Watkins.”

    http://profootballta...nt-to-trade-up/

Also, Browns wanna trade down, (and I'm sure Whaley and Pettine are still cool).

    http://profootballta...an-fourth-pick/

And I think they will move to #4 with cleveland. Cleveland wants a QB and can still get one at 9. We dont need to jump to 3 because Jax isnt taking Mack. They need a QB also.

And I dont think that Whaley thinks that WR is a position of need. And I agree.

I hope your right, I love Mack.
  8. If the choice is between Ebron and Lewan, I don't think the Bills will pick Lewan at 9. If you are going to take the third best tackle, you don't do it at 9. Take one of the other good tackles in the second or third round and grab Ebron in the first.

That is subjective, I think Lewan is the best tackle in the draft.
  9. He obviously means 4th overall, not 4th round. Why must people correct everyone on every little mistake. Do you think you are proving you are smarter than the OP or are somehow being clever? It's so played out man.

To answer your question, no. The only instance that I would consider it is if Watkins were available and they felt he was a considerable upgrade from Stevie. Also, I don't think I'd want to "throw in" a 7th rounder on top of a very solid WR and the 9th.

Personally, I like Stevie and I never like trading a known commodity for unknown ones. We could always try to get another WR at 9 or in the second. If we do, and we like him after workouts and camps we could always trade Stevie for pick(s) in next years draft. There will be teams that wanted a top end receiver that didn't get one and there are always injuries in the season / training camps.

Thank you, this needed to be said, let's all follow this advise.

Cleveland and Buffalo Make a Trade.....

Cleveland receives Buffalos 1st pick, (ninth over all) and Buffalos 7th round pick along with a trade of WR Stevie Johnson

for Cleveland's 4th round pick .... Advantages for Cleveland...they receive a good WR in Johnson who the coach knows well. They get the Bills 9th overall pick which allows them to pick the QB of their choice at a much lower price as compared to 4th pick and they receive a 7th round extra pick... Sounds like a good deal for Cleveland..

Buffalo now can select WR Watkins or Evans and they might consider OT Robinson or LB Mack..We as fans do not know their thinking.

All the players mentioned would look good in a Bills Uniform... Trade would be made when Cleveland is on the clock..

Great, I'd throw in Manny Lawson to sweeten the pot.
