The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Kemp replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Then why did Trump repeatedly praise China's efforts and transparency before the virus came to America? We know it wasn't a mistake because he's never made one. Fake news. It's a hoax. -

He certainly has. A natural result when one man takes both sides on so many topics. Remember when Conservatives thought that was a bad thing? The death of logic. -

Is he referring to the tests that are yielding false positives and false positives or are there new tests available? Per capita, we are not even close to performing the most tests. Then again, if you can't depend on the results, who cares? -

It should scare everyone if what should be a medical decision becomes a political decision, no matter the political leaning, but it’s not working that way today in America and that's because a segment of the population believes more in rantings than science. -

Their autoimmune systems are fortresses against what they've previously encountered. Against a new agent their immune system would be like anyone else's. I assume that's what you meant. -

Outstanding news! I'll buy the next round of clorox. "China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus,” Trump wrote in a post on Twitter. “The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!” When: Tuesday, April 14The claim: Asked about his past praise of China and its transparency, Trump said that he hadn’t “talk[ed] about China’s transparency.”The truth: Trump lauded the country in tweets he sent in late January and early February. In one, he highlighted the Chinese government’s “transparency” about the coronavirus outbreak. -

Thankfully, I only know of two people who followed Trump's recommendations on chloraquine. The husband died. The wife survived. They drank aquarium water. At least a couple hundred did call their local authorities to ask if it's safe to ingest bleach. I wonder how many of them are Trump supporters? -

I replied to a question specifically about that addressed to me, but you had to froth, in error. You can only do what you are capable of, I suppose. Considering that it would be tough to eat while wearing a mask, that seems reasonable. -

1. In an establishment it's fine not to wear a mask. I am talking about while walking around. 2. I never said or hinted that Trump told people to inject themselves. I said he wondered about whether it might be a strategy. The dispute comes as to how that unfolded. Trump clearly turned to Dr. Birx to ask the question. He claimed he was being sarcastic and claimed he was talking to a reporter. Both parts of what he said were outright lies. Correct? That an adult would even wonder if injecting bleach might clean the lungs is evidence that he is an idiot. Correct? Yet, there will be no shortage of morons here who will say they believe his version because they will never admit he lies or that he is a dolt. I asked this earlier. If you went to a doctor and he wondered about injecting poison in your body to clean your lungs, what would be your opinion of that doctor and would you ever go to him again? -

I know of no right to not wear a mask that would save many lives. I also understand that it is imperative to start the economy. Masks don't stop you from breathing or every surgeon would be dead. Some people don't want to be bothered, to me pales against killing others who simply wish to not be shut-ins. In extraordinary times, you can't just tell seniors and the compromised tough luck. Before we made places handicap-accessible, the same attitude prevailed. Should we remove ramps and say screw-em to the handicapped? They say you can judge a society by how it treats the weakest among them. I agree with that. Asking people to temporarily wear face masks is not torture and it's certainly not at the level of making people risk their lives for merely going outside. -

I disagree totally with your opening statement. However, I am unclear why the best solution to the problem might not be to open up society with the proviso that everyone must wear masks when outside of their own private property. The argument that that would remove individual freedom is wrong, because it's the same thing as the notion that you have the right to punch, but that right stops at someone else's face. People refusing to wear a mask are putting many others at risk and removing their freedom to go outside. Isn't someone who refuses to wear a mask under the current conditions incredibly selfish. It's an attitude of screw you, I am all that matters. Why wouldn't this be a fair compromise that would get the economy moving quickly and helping to keep the vulnerable safe? -

You believe Fauci created the coronavirus in order to make money on the possible resulting vaccine? Fauci owns a patent on a vaccine that does not exist or does he already have the vaccine and he's just waiting for the right time to jump in and make the big bucks? Is Trump in on the scheme or he is he being duped? It can't be the latter because he's too smart. This means he's in on it. That's big news! Don't you now have an obligation to tell Alex Jones, Rush Limaugh, and Breitbart. If you don't, you're shirking your civic duty and will be opening yourself to prosecution. Save yourself before it's too late. -
