  1. Well there was a slant on 3rd and goal vs Miami where Fitz missed a wide open Stevie......Both throws vs the Jets......There are a million others....Bottom line is Stevie gets open and every blue moon Fitz will throw a decent ball.

For all you Fitz lovers out there watch every game after week 6 and you will see one terrible football player.....

    Tannenhill RG3 Whoever Save us

And for the record I will order the TD and celebration penalty all day. Double me up please

  2. Then I think he will be playing for someone else. It will hurt us short term, but long term we will recover. If letting him go is part of a long term plan to get better, then I'm fine with it. And the last 10 years doesn't count, as the current front office wasn't here.

The good old long term plan.....How does that work? Another 12 years w/o playoffs? I would prefer the one year plan where a putrid team like the 49ers turn into playoff contenders in one year with a competent coach. I don't have another 12 years for "chan's plan" This is depressing stuff

  3. Point well made. We will have to pay him more than San Fran to keep him. If San Fran was not in the WR game I'd have a great feeling about him, but its a two way street. How much of a bidding war with San Fran do we get into, esp. if we can get Vincent Jackson and possibly another WR for similar money.

Vincent Jackson is terrible.....Bad attitude and has 3 good games a year (with Rivers throwin bombs to him, something Fitz cannot do) Count me out on the Vincent Jackson debacle

  4. My god, Stevie Johnson must be the most popular Buffalo Bill to ever put on the jersey. I will be happy if we keep him. But that still is not UPGRADING the team from last season. He is a GOOD player. He is not a GREAT player. We will still need to bring in another VERY GOOD receiver to play on the other side. The herd mentality on this board is mind numbing.

Fred Jackson is our best offensive player hands down, followed by Eric Wood. Where is all the ranting about giving Freddie a long overdue raise and extension. And what about extending Wood and Levitre as well? Do you think we are marching to the Super Bowl if we resign Stevie Johnson? What about taking that money and signing Marcus Colston, and Pierre Garcon, Dwayne Bowe, or Vincent Jackson? Stevie doesn't seem as great mentioned against those guys does he?

Well Fred is "older" and has a uber competent backup, unlike stevie. Colston would be irrelevant with Fitz same w VJ...

  5. At some point doesn't just the lack of talent be it speed, hands, etc. trump the fact that no coach

can help players who simply cannot start in the NFL. I am speaking of Nelson here. His biggest asset is his his cute Dallas girlfriend and scripted TD celebrations.Sorry but there is a reason some of these guys last to the 7th or are UDFA's. I have even less regard for most defensive players taken in 2010 by Nix. Almost a draft of complete busts yet some think the light will now go on with Wanny. Maybe, but I again see raw talent as the first and most defining thing a young player has going for him. All the coaching won't do anything if NFL caliber talent is missing. Here's hoping the Bills draft talent in April instead of the small school players, with potential script they sometimes have used with zero success. Perhaps some long needed pink slips in scouting have corrected that.

Seriously? Did you watch any Bills games this past season? David Nelson played great and caught pretty much everything thrown his way. Nelson is a INCREDIBLE #3 and I will sign up right now for another 10 years of Nelson...

I don't understand how TBD'ers can bash the only players that play well and give the rest of the bums a free pass. Nelson is a 3# who will produce well for years to come

  6. Why can't we do both, and more? The Bills literally having no starting quality WR's on the roster, and one barely passable DE. We need to sign at least 2 WR's, and probably 2 4-3 DE's....

Sorry, but we NEED SJ first and foremost. The offense is beyond doomed without him.

I'd love to have Mario too, certainly we need SOMEONE who can rush the passer. Maybe Mario, maybe someone else, but we need someone.

I'll pass on VJ. Possibly the most overrated WR in the league, he is the poster boy for inconsistency. I watched all but a few SD games this year, VJ was mostly awful with 3 amazing games mixed in. For the most part he under performed 90% of the time. He is a pure deep threat, and can't do anything else. He is below average working underneath and intermediate routes, the base of the Bills offense...

I totally agree with the VJ comments. So many TBD'ers believe shipping out SJ and replacing him with VJ is the way to go. I will sit back and laugh at the Fitzy-VJ 3 td season. VJ is a one trick pony, I have no interest in him

  7. first, welcome to the board, enjoy !!

second, i have to strongly disagree with you.

Fitzpatrick made the O-Line look good because he threw the ball in under 3 seconds. thats all the time he had before protection broke down. the Bills have the WORST two starting offensive tackles in the league. other than wood (at center) and levitre (at left guard only) the whole unit is not good enough. It would not surprise me in the least if they used their first round pick on a LT....Martin from Stanford the way i see the draft falling. i know a pass rush is what everyone is clamoring for, but it may already be on the roster if Merriman can get healthy, he was a beast in preseason and got injured in first regular season game.

as far as Fitz goes. the bills were 5-2 thru the washington game where fitz got his ribs broken by London Fletcher. they were 1-8 after that. Fitz is the least of our problems. a pass rush and o line protection is a much bigger problem. Fitz may not be a "franchise QB" , but in my opinion is a Top 20 QB.

Top 20? Is that a good thing? I have to say I am on board with Mr D2k's statements......Fitz is not good enough and never will be.....Watch Cam Dalton Locker any of these rookie qb's they have 10x the arm of Mr Fitz.......Let's get him out of here.......cold hard truth, hes just not good enough

  8. My thought is that Chan's offense (or maybe it's Fitzy's style) doesn't require the same quality of pass blocking that Brady needs. I'm not saying Fitzy's better than Brady, but he's definitely tougher and makes quicker throws. Also, since he was the least sacked QB last year, and they were a top rushing team, do we really want to spoil the chemistry?

Yeah, all I was trying to say is that the combine helped him. I never said he wasn't a top prospect. I'm not an idiot.

How am I the troll? I'm actually discussing the topic brought up by the OP. Props to you for picking Newton.

Anyone who watched a half a second of College Foooseball knew Dareus was a top 3 pick.........Not sure why you are so salty about this fact.....The combine did help him (as it does everyone else who performs well) but Dareus was a top dog all along

  9. And this is how you lose a team Chan..........Bench your star over petty penalty.......Blow 21 pt lead............If some of your opinions are right and Chan is sending a message to his new players(Stevie not being one of them) Is this as bad as Wade when he ditched Flutie for Rob Johnson.....I gotta say this is pretty bad.......Chan pack your %$#$..........way to prove your point......losing 8 of 9 games YOUR DOING IT RIGHT huh...........Unreal

  10. What is the problem with benching so player that refuses to comply to rules?

The problem is you play to win.........when one benches their best wr against a terrible pass defense....one would be considered to be a dumb coach.....1 half on benching is plenty.........All of the "stevie" haters on here obviously dont understand how bad the bills passing game will be if they bills do ship him out......

  11. We'll see who gets the last laugh next year when Stevie is lighting it up with his new team and the bills are winning 5-6 games again.

How did "He" lose the game......He scored 7 put us up 14-0.....after that penalty they did not score as a DIRECT result of the "game-losing penalty"......Then Stubborn Chan benched someone for too long......benching til halftime sends a point....and move on

  12. Fabulous. A dude that's started for roughly 1 1/2 seasons should be drafted in the top 10. Of course. Why didn't I think of that?

Word on the street is the kid will be gone by the middle of the third round.

2nd round lets do it.......Tannenhill to replace Fitz.......will Coples or the OT from Iowa.........A good O-Line never hurt anyone......Look at the 49ers recent drafts........Free Agent WR and lets move on......

  13. Tannehill remimds me of Ponder, in that he is a clear 2nd rounder that will likely never develop into a good starter, but some team will desperately reach for him in the first. I'm just hoping it isnt the Bills.

I think Tannenhill has twice the arm of Ponder......I would not be terribly mad if we somehow traded up and got him but we have to use the 1st rounder on someone else.......I am all for getting Fitz off the field......
