So what you're saying is that you just make up whatever narrative fits your agenda, gotcha.

Why the difference between regular season and playoff game?  Could it be that the Bills defense stunk?  I saw Josh running for his life.  Not sure exactly what you saw.  The offensive line is substandard by any metric.

Well, the AFCE comes down to December. Unless something really weird happens to either team, it specifically comes down to two games against NE in 20 days. With all of the struggles and disappointments we had mid-season, what an opportunity we have before us.

That said, by how some are responding , you'd think we don't even have a chance at the division. Yes, we've struggled but we are still a really good team. And, we still have everything in front of us to win this division (and more). I get it, it's the Pats. The PTSD is probably still fresh for some since they dominated for so long. We all wanted them to stay in the AFCE cellar once Brady moved on to the Bucs. And last year was amazing, because for once, we played the part that the Pats usually played against us. We pulled one out and then completely dominated them in Foxborough (I still love that our team made BB throw a phone - an instant classic). On top of that the competition wasn't close and we ran away with the division with a 13-3 record.

After a down year, the Pats are back (at least for this year) and we're starting December neck and neck with them. I know it's not who we wanted to contend with, but even two years ago, we as fans would've been begging to have the opportunity that's in front of us. That opportunity being two games against the Pats in December to most likely decide the division. That opportunity being that we control our own destiny heading into December. That opportunity being a chance for us to keep the AFCE crown in Buffalo and be the team that keeps it from being in Foxborough again.

We're a good team that struggled mid-season. The Pats struggled in the first part of the season and have unfortunately come into form and have been playing good ball. So, here we are. We cruised to the division title last year but most division titles in most years go down to the wire. It's something we as fans need to get used to. While it would've been nice to have a repeat of last year where the division came pretty easily to us, this is a good thing for our Bills. It keeps them focused. It reminds them that every game matters. And, it gives them the opportunity to show the Pats who's in charge in the AFCE.

Only time will tell if they take that opportunity but that time starts next Monday at home in front of the greatest, most loyal fans. It's time to go get it, Buffalo. Show them that it's not going to happen in our house, on your watch. Show them who the new king of the division is.

    Go Bills!

Great post!  Nothing more to be said!

    Who is "vilifying" anyone?

You and SCBills are most certainly entitled to your viewpoint, and you could be right.

Another viewpoint is that vaccination status might drive some concerns about guaranteed money and the structure of the contract...given that the Bills had on their roster one of the players who developed myocarditis from Covid and went out for the season, and I believe during the negotiations, their franchise LT who is owed a lot of guaranteed money went into hospital during the vaccination process, it might seem more "real" to them as a possibility to guard against contractually.

    How is that "vilifying" anyone?

For all you know he is vaxxed, and we don't know if he tested positive (if he isn't vaxxed, he could be a close contact)

This is exactly the point I am trying to make.  This is not personal Sonny its business…..

    I think you’re missing what he’s saying…

    @SCBills

Correct me if I’m wrong but you’re saying…

It wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense for the Bills organization to come to an agreement with Josh on money, length, etc. and then decide not to go through with it because he’s unvaccinated. It would be a huge grievance considering there was and is no vaccine mandate in the NFL. The NFLPA would have a field day.

FWIW I’m over the whole vilifying people based on their vaccine status, or hell, in many cases on here… their presumed vaccine status. @Hapless Bills Fanthis is no way directed at you… just the general posting on the board.

My point, they would never had gotten to that point in negotiations without having a clear understanding of his vaccine status.  They would not have agreed to a contract and then pulled out because of vaccine status.  That makes no sense.

Josh is the franchise.  If they knew he was the guy (and they made the right decision), you don’t play 5th year games because of his vax status.  That’s foolish.

Sorry, that is honestly wild that people think we would seriously not lock him down because of this.  The guy makes us a contender for the next decade, but we’re going to be that shortsighted in negotiations?

He might be vaxxed, and if he is, no worries.. but I COMPLETELY disagree with the assertion that the Pegula’s would be foolish to not negotiate the extension with the best QB here since Kelly, maybe best QB in the NFL because of this.

I disagree with this.  Covid  19 can have serious consequences.  Ask Dion Dawkins and Tommy Sweeney.  If Josh gets Covid endocarditis or another serious complications, what happens then?

How would they be doing that?

This is his 4th year.  They picked up his 5th year option.

Beane made it clear several times that they were willing to stop negotiations and wait until after the season if they couldn't agree.

Not signing him before this season is hardly "basing our entire franchise" around a decision.

Exactly.  There was no rush to sign an unvaccinated player.  Since the Pegulas, Beane and Coach are vaccinated, I don’t think they make this kind of investment in an unvaccinated player.  I damn well would not risk my money on that.  Would any of you?

Of the thread where it and some other posts wound up yes

Now that it's got its own place, No

Yes, at least I did the same math that @Big Turk did:

-4 teams in the NFL are under 89%

-Beane sez the Bills are just over 80% or maybe a little less after the cuts

-Therefore the Bills are one of the 4 teams in the NFL that are under 89%

It has to be very frustrating for Beane.  I thought he kind of looked defeated, in that press conference.

Apparently one of the 4 lowest in the league at ~79-80% and going to get lower when we're cut down to 53

It's not just the % it's apparently who that % is: Butler, Lotulelei, Poyer, Boettger, Beasley, Davis, probably Allen - a lot of core starters.

Josh is vaccinated.  Pegulas are not giving 150 million guaranteed to a unvaccinated player.  No way, no how, forget about it!

Why?  I mean who cares really.  One, not like we had shot to draft him.  Two, he’s playing with more talent around him too.  Plus Pats May rest people.

It was widely reported Bills were asking for a 4th only.

Pats will rest no one.  Need win for bye.

And my apologies to you if I jumped on you in the flood of....”Eyorism”. People tend to overreact with every loss. I’d been hearing it all day long. Big picture, I’m good as long as Josh keeps improving. If he fails, I’d still give this FO another crack in time for another QB, as I like the direction (despite what others whine about). QB is a crap shoot. Period. But I will hold out hope we’ve got ours!

We have our QB.  That is to say he has the potential to be a championship level QB.  Now will the Bills develop him and nurture him in the correct way?  Time will tell....

    Well thank you so much!

Whether they are overrated or not depends upon how much you thought of them in the first place. I have no delusions about rivaling the ‘85 Bears.  But they are a pretty solid unit.

Look, things get testy after an ugly loss, and with all the Eyore posts that follow. I’m more of a big picture, long term view kind of guy, and I tend to lean toward glass half full while recognizing the shortcomings. It’s cool if you disagree. That doesn’t make anybody an idiot.

Yes you are correct.  My apologies to you.  No offense intended.....

I spelled his name wrong I think, but this guy has fully morphed into Sully.  Everything negative, pretends like he speaks for all the fans in his articles, acts like this was supposed to be a winning season, you name it, he will criticize it and tell you how bad it is.

His radio spots are unlistenable, honestly this dude is worse than Schopp if that's possible.

So for the 3% of you that miss doom and gloom Sully, there's a new sheriff in town.

For the most part he tells it like it is.  Had an article today that was spot on about this so called number 1 defense.....

Maybe not always, but usually. What kind of person walks into a new room and screams to get attention? No real knowledge was shared here. It wasn’t like “excuse me, but did you know there is fire leaping out of the upstairs windows?”

This is more “I’m new here, and everybody needs to look at me!”

    That is idiotic.....

These posts are becoming more and more emotionally charged.   We're such a adolescent fanbase at times.

They make several significant 3rd down stops to give the offense additional possessions.  They force field goals/punts frequently even when the offense puts their back against the wall.  This is a winning defense in the NFL.

This is not personal.  It’s srictly business.  Please elucidate your disagreement with what was posted.  Seems you are becoming “emotionally charged.”  Are they a clutch defense in the 4th quarter?  Do they create turnovers?  Are they a great red zone defense?  Feel free to express what you disagree with?
