  1. Wk 1 at NYJ - (Great early test, Allen and Darnold seem to be pretty good friends and both competitive) Jets will have good running game, but so should we. 50/50

    Wk 2 at NYG - (I just don't see how they've improved this offseason)  I see a 75/25 chance for a Win

Wk 3 Cincy home opener - (Fired up fans, weakened defense, coaching overhaul) 80/20 for the Win

Wk 4 NE - (Pats are Pats, but this year smells different, but until I see evidence)  40/60 probably a loss

Wk 5 at TEN - (Who's going to be the QB, Henry with no star receivers) 60/40 for the Win

Wk 6 BYE - (10th week in from start of preseason, good place for a bye)

Wk 7 Miami - (Miami at the start of the season is nothing on paper, we should know who they are by this point) 75/25 for Win

Wk 8 Philly - (With no quality backup anymore, will Wentz be healthy?) 60/40 for the Win

Wk 9 WSH - (Who's the QB?  Nothing scars me about this team on either side of the ball) 80/20 for the Win

Wk 10 at CLE - (Mayfield's hold on the team of divas will be very clear at this point, if they're winning they will be tough, if not?)  50/50

Wk 11 at MIA - (I think they'll be improved, but I also think the Bills at this point have some momentum, possible trap game) 60/40 for the Win

Wk 12 DEN - (Nothing really to say about Denver haven't been paying attention to their offseason)  @home 70/30 for the Win

Wk 13 at DAL Thanksgiving Day - (Team is built very similar to the Bills on TG Day toss up) 50/50

Wk 14 BAL - (Teams and the league will have Jackson figured out by now, Harbaugh realizes they made a big mistake letting Flacco go) 70/30 for the Win

Wk 15 at PIT - (Ju Ju, Rothlisberger, depends on their record but not scared, what they do well on offense, we counter well with defense) 50/50

Wk 16 at NE possible Saturday game - (who knows, but I fully expect either the Jets or the Bills to be in the hunt) 50/50

Wk 17 NYJ - (Again, Jets have a brutal start to their season, where will they be at this point, I'm guessing in the hunt) 60/40 we're at home looking to go to the dance.

I see 10 wins and 1 sure loss, and  5 toss ups.  Even if I take into account that I'm not being as conservative as I should be, I'm not far off.  Even if we lose some of those projected wins, we can make up for it with wins in some of the toss ups.  I still see no reason we can't be a 10 win team at a minimum.  All about momentum, and if we can get some early, which I fully expect, then we as fans are going to enjoy this season.  Regardless, the Bills are not the laughing stock of the league this year.  No team is marking us on their calendar as an automatic W.

My theory:  The OP once had a girlfriend or wife who was dirty blonde and loved sports.  The OP caught said significant other getting banged by his two best friends ON HIS BED.  Now the OP hates all women with dirty blonde hair.

** Disclaimer:  This is only a theory based on nothing by my personal daydreams/fantasies.  In no way am I saying that this actually happened to anyone - specifically the OP. **

Naw, nothing like that.. I already answered why specifically I was singling her out, maybe you and the others should read it again for the first time. ;)

That said, the "others", notwithstanding Kay Adams, whom I like, are just regurgitating what they hear.  In other words, I know what to expect from them, and they, most of the time are not pretentious about themselves.

  3. I was thinking about this today, and was wondering why I haven't heard any buzz about the Cardinals possibly trading the No 1 overall, and running with Rosen, and taking a QB later in the first or maybe even next year.

So I ask, if your the GM of Arizona, would you trade out of the number one overall, stick with Rosen for at least another year, and scoop up all these draft picks to put weapons around Josh?  Is one season enough to judge Rosen?  Granted he was garbage last year, but how much of that was his OL, offensive weapons, and defense?  I though TSW was pretty consensus on the idea that you can't judge accurately how a QB will be with just one year to his resume?  Look at Goff, as an example.

I personally think the Cards are making a potentially huge mistake in letting Rosen walk after just one year.  Oh, and before anyone says anything.  No, I was a Josh Allen guy all the way, never waivered, except that one time in band camp, when I fell in love with Mayfield for a brief, but in a weakened state of mind. ;)

    Thoughts?

  4. Coming back to this thread, since, well, I started it.  ;)

Some are saying that she's been right about football scores.  Ok, well, let's look at the statistically.  How often is she more right than wrong?  I don't follow that aspect of the games sports analysis, because frankly, no one gets it right, enough to pay attention to them in my opinion.  Some say she's hot, well, yeah, she's certainly not ugly, that's for sure, but so what?  What irks me about her is that she claims to have this great education and background, but in any other position on the planet when someone is that wrong that much, as a business owner you tend to let them go..  Not saying any of the draft mockers are any better, but the difference is that none of them pretend to be, except maybe Kiper, and McShay.  Mocks are fun to take in for those that participate, me, not so much.  I have about as good a chance to predict the Bills selection or the top ten as anyone else on TV.

So, to me, two things bother me.  She pretends to have the inside scoop based on her "sophisticated models", that rarely if ever yield quality predictions, and two, the guys on the show either pretend or outright sit on her every word as if it's gospel...I'm the VP of a very large company, and we've worked really hard over the last 10 years to give women a fair shake in the business world, we treat them like we would treat any other employee, and we don't tip toe around poor performance from ANYONE, male or female.  I just don't understand why she's still employed.  Other than her looks, and to me if that really IS THE ONLY REASON, then shame on the NFLN.  Kay Adams almost always has much better insight and opinions on football, and even when she did fantasy she was better, especially daily fantasy, and she was just wingin it most of the time.  Adams, comes across as genuine, as well, something Frelund does not.  IMO.

  5. I ask because I've been watching her now for a good 3 years, and NOTHING she predicts, says, or even comments on is accurate.  1st off, anyone who plays fantasy stay the hell away from any "analytics" advise Frelund gives you, and that's both season fantasy and especially daily fantasy football.  She's total garbage, and her mocks exercises are not even worth the frequency bandwidth of hot air.  Just recently she gives a mock for this years first round of not where she thinks players will go, but which players will have an immediate impact, taking into account what she believes those teams records will be for 2019.  Um.. what?  Why even bother, it's pointless, and zero football knowledge can be gleaned from any of that nonsense, and to watch the guys criticize her without actually criticizing her is laughable, makes me want to puke.  Brooks just literally said that he agreed with Frelund that Haskins could be picked by the Pats at 32 and that (get this) Haskins is Tom Brady 2.0....  Yes he literally just said that!

My point, if not made abundantly clear, is, why is this women on TV talking about football like she's some sage of wisdom every week?  Has anyone ever heard her say anything intelligent when it comes to football fantasy or predictive analytics?  Anything?

  6. I respect Schein a lot, he's one of my favorites.  Look, we as Bills fans are so guarded about making these sorts of predictions, but do you know of any Bills fans this year that are not absolutely ecstatic to see the product we put on the field?  I've been a fan for 35 years, and not since 94, and a little in 99 have I been this pumped to see out beloved team bring it each week.  Once thing I can tell you, almost guarantee.  The Bills will NOT be an easy out any week, and we won't be seeing the lines that Vegas had us on last year.

    Go Bills!

  7. Wow, this article is one of the best I've ever read about the "inside baseball" of a Football team.  Sure as casual observers we all knew something was going on, but this article makes no claim to who's fault it was, but it clearly lays out the framework for what not to allow happen.

    Great post, OP.!!

  8. Outside of the Sabres top line (Which probably ranks in the mid 20's around the league) who else jumps out at you?  How many of those guys make an NHL team?  Although drafting a defensemen 1st overall was applauded around the league, was it really the best pick?  I count the Sabres as my second favorite team in the NHL, and I follow them mostly because I've lived in the area for most of my life, but damn, what is the problem with this team?  Is it really coaching, is it poor recognition of chemistry with who plays best with who, is it the PP1 selections and positions?  Goaltending?  You never know from game to game.  I think coaching has a lot to do with it, for example:  Babcock is misusing both Matthews and Marner on the PP, IMO.  They need to swap positions, Matthews on the right, Marner on the left, IMO.  The Tavares line works well, but not because of Tavs or Marner, that line works because of the chemistry of Hyman and how he is a total team player, completely unselfish.  No surprise that Matthews has struggled at times this year without Hyman.

Every team needs guys like that, one on each line.  The GM of the Sabres needs to recognize this, and go out and find some grinders and they'll be fine.

As to the OP, I find it really hard to believe the Bills will regress this year, so, no, I see McBean staying.  In fact, although I say it every year (The optimist in me) I really believe the Bills make the playoffs.

  9. I've been reading the AFCE forums today, and of course Jets fans are super excited, as they should be, that team is not going to be an easy out for anyone this year.  Pats fans gunna Pats fan, ho hum FA, still clinging to the GOAT for at least one more year, but reading the forums, THEY KNOW, the times are a changing.  And then we have the Fins fans..  Can't imagine what these boards would be like if we had as boring a FA period as they are having knowing that they are in serious tank-mode..

    I know, I know, I shouldn't feel bad but I do. :)

  10. Why all this TE talk?  Based on last year, it never seemed like the TE, outside of the blocking role, was ever a big part of Dabol's system?  Why would we spend millions on a new shiny toy that isn't a big factor in the game plan, week to week?

Just asking for a friend. ;)

Brady has obviously had a great career. I wouldn't want to see him go out with an ugly career-ending injury. It would not be fitting for one of the all-time great QBs.

I would much rather see a team play press man-to-man coverage, crowd the LOS to shut down the dink-and-dunk, and watch Brady fail miserably at trying to beat that defense with downfield throws. I would rather see him getting frequently knocked down and sacked because he cannot get rid of the ball as quickly as he is accustomed to and I would enjoy watching him scream at his linemen and teammates, and cry to the refs every time he gets hit and constantly ask them to throw flags.

Finally, I would like to see the blank stares of a stadium full of frustrated, defeated Pats fans in the final minutes of the game, but we all know that would never happen because their fans run for the hills as soon as they realize things are not going their way. (not this game, of course, because it is not a home game)

That's what is so frustrating watching him over the years.  The ONLY time you beat this team is when you execute this game plan.  No other, ONLY this one.  Take away his short passing game, and run game, force him to hold the ball just a little bit longer, and yes, sometimes he still beats you, but by playing this type of pressure defense, you stand a chance.  It's that, well, simple on paper, much harder to execute, of course.  BUT, it IS the right defensive plan.

As to the OP, I hate the Patriots as well, and want them to lose Sunday, BUT, no arguing that Brady is the GOAT, for me it's not even close.
