  1. #1 is the comeback game

#2 is AFC Championship vs. Raiders

#3 is vs. Dallas in 1984. Greg Bell takes the first play of the game 85 yds for a TD, winless Bills upset Dallas. First game I went to that the won. (I was 6)

#4 Bills @Miami 1983. Marino's first game. He and Ferguson have a shootout of the ages, Joe Cribbs is out of his mind, Uwe Von Schamann shanks 2 FGs in OT, Joe Danelo boots the winner. Bills first win in the Orange Bowl ever. First game I remember watching on TV with my family.

#5 vs. New England 2011 - another one from TV. I still get to watch games with my Dad which us great. We were jumping around and hugging like little kids.

#6 vs Raiders SNF in 1990. Bills down 10 4thQ, Kelly throws a bomb to Lofton, Tasker blocks a punt returned for TD, Odomes steals a ball a retunrs it for a TD, we win.

  2. I end up calling the State Police (no local cops here) 3-5 times a year for various stuff on the non-emergency line. I admit, I'm kind of a pain in the ass but honestly I feel like I'm doing my part to keep nonsense under control in my neighborhood. For example, group of people walking through my neighborhood ringing door bells being followed slowly by an unmarked, out-of-state van. I'm mowing my lawn and one of the gentlemen bypasses my house entirely, doesn't ring, doesn't try to speak to me, avoids eye contact as he walks past me. Religious? Maybe. Solicitors? Maybe. Burglary ring staking out the neighborhood? Probably. Stop mowing, pull out the cellie and make a call. Trooper on scene in 4 minutes. Situation handled.

Of course there are the occasional actual 911 calls I get to make as well like the person going the wrong way on I-476 or the truck driver swerving all over the PA Tpk because he's watching television in the cab (no kidding, 19" TV on the dashboard)

  3. EJ regressed after getting hurt in the Cleveland game his first year. Let's see if the new coaching staff can get him on track. If they can't then look at QB's like Connor Cook, Cardale Jones of Christian Hackenburg in next year's draft.

Hackenburg is God awful and I don't know why anyone talks about him at all...ever. He is brutal, simply brutal.

  4. These are good points, but I'm going to harp on one thing (again): The Bills were really 8-8 team last year, not a 9-7 team. If the final game had meant anything to the Pats, barring an act of god they would have annihilated the Bills.

To be fair that hasn't seemed to matter in the past when the Pats and Bills played late in the year. That, and the Bills were winning the game when Brady came out, it wasn't some sort of BS late rally.

  5. How nice was it not to be included in the list of teams in danger of moving at the end of the article??

When I think of stadiums and government getting involved, part of me cringes at public money going to these endeavors.

But another part, besides any argument of increased economic activity for an area... is the use of the stadium. A large complex like these can serve as a community asset in times of disaster e.g. The Superdome during Hurricane Katrina, they used the UCONN stadium during flooding, etc. The government can literally take over this asset at times of critical need. Rather than building a vast emergency complex / triage area that may never be needed, I don't find it too much to ask that the government ought to put something into the pot to create a space to run operations. I'm a fiscal ultra conservative and even I can allow for that.

This is short-sighted, but alas... it fits right in with the 'Eat The Rich' attitude of the administration. Make private owners pay for it all, and then government uses it if/when it needs to with no remuneration.

The problem with both of your examples is that they were both financed with public money in the first place. The Superdome got about 150 million public dollars for repairs afterwards not including the tax free bonds.

While I don't doubt that in the case of serious emergency that the government would use the facility I strongly doubt that the owners would not be remunerated after the fact. It's not quite the same as police commandeering a vehicle. FWIW, even if the Pegulas finance the entire stadium the public will still be paying for infrastructure improvements, etc. so an argument could be made that the public made its contribution in that way.

  6. Name one USC quarterback not named Carson Palmer that has been even remotely decent in the NFL in the last 40 years? Thanks, but I'll take Cassell over him any day.

    Cassel went to USC..........

Having watched Barkley in Eagle pre-season the last couple years he doesn't appear to have the RPMs necessary to be an NFL starter, particularly in Buffalo.

  7. I'm pretty sure the Raiders converted him from Wide Receiver to Fullback. He would be a great fallback option for Clay.

And in terms of being an H-Back type of TE I don't see which piece of that he can't do. I'd be intrigued at least but I certainly wouldn't give up much. if the Raiders are as cash poor as they are letting on you might be able to flat out buy him off the Raiders

  8. Legit point

He was good for a killer holding at least every other game it seemed. Particularly against New England.

+1 he did his job well. He is a blocker, no pretense of being a receiving threat.

Then put another flipping tackle on the field and block. Christ if you're going to put a TE on the field at all the point of the POSITION is that it's a man who can block AND be a receiving threat.
