  1. Say what you want about Cameron (and I only have bad things to say about him---outside of Terminator all his films are boring as a dog's ass. Just fancy effects and no soul) he at least makes big screen movies. I know he planned Avatar to be 3-D all along.

I was totally underwhelmed by the film. I thought it was a soulless bland slab of nothing. Nice eye candy but immediately forgettable.

Wow really? You must be a tough film critic. Aliens and True Lies were definitely not as "boring as a dog's ass." If you meant Titanic on the other hand. I have no argument.

  2. As I think you know, Thoner, I'm also a big Jim Harbaugh fan. He's a very good former NFL QB who as a college head coach has developed two drafted quarterbacks in 3 years at the University of San Diego...Josh Johnson who was a 5th round pick in 2008 and Josh Freeman who was a 1st round pick the this year.

At the University of San Diego he took over a team which was 4-7. His first year they went 7-4. They then had two consecutive 11-1 seasons, winning the league championship two years in a row.

Harbaugh was then hired at Stanford in 2006. He inherited a team which went 1-11 in 2005. In his first year Stanford improved to 4-8.

In Harbaugh's second year at Stanford, his unranked team was a 41 point underdog to #1 ranked USC. Stanford beat USC 24-23 making the victory the biggest upset in NCAA College Football history. Stanford finished the season 5-7.

This year they are 7-4, pending the results of tonight's season finale against Notre Dame.

Harbaugh has a proven record of developing quarterbacks and winning teams. He was a very good NFL quarterback.

That said, Harbaugh played college football at Michigan and his offense this year heavily emphasizes the running game. Stanford simply doesn't have many athletes on the defensive side so Harbaugh protects his defense by implementing a power running approach.

He's also doing a great job of developing Andrew Luck at Stanford who is a redshirt freshman (20 years old, 6'4" 235 pounds) who led Stanford to victories over two ranked opponents, USC and Oregon this year.

In six seasons as a college head coach, Harbaugh has taken over two very bad programs and compiled a record of 45-25.

I'd be happy if he was a candidate for the Bills head coaching job and overjoyed if he came in as assistant head coach/offensive coordinator.

Would Jim Kelly approve of hiring Jim Harbaugh? The man did slug him in the face and fracture his own hand in the process.

  3. Andy Reid went to the SUPERBOWL in 2005 with a 6-10 record. He had one win less than Jauron and went to the SUPERBOWL. Jauron has had a 7-9 record for three straight years and didn't make the SUPERBOWL once. Imagine what will happen with a talent like Peters. The Eagles have a 7-9 season virtually locked up which means they should WIN the SUPERBOWL this year.

You can't argue with facts like these. Thurman has told us the Eagles made the SUPERBOWL in 2005 with a 6-10 record. You don't think Peters gets them one more win and thus the championship? You are all on crack. I think Thurman and I are the only ones who understand football and being part of a team here.

Are these two paragraphs serious? There is so much sarcasm going off on this board that I can't tell whats real anymore.

The Eagles went 6-10 and missed the playoffs in 2005. Commonly known as the Superbowl Curse. They made the Superbowl on a 13-3 record with no Terrell Owens and McNabb controversy. 2006 was the year Terrell Owens blew up on McNabb for being out of shape during the Superbowl.

I'm assuming the poster who wrote 05 meant the 2004 to 2005 season. The only way Andy Reid could EVER pull off a 6-10 Superbowl season is if he played Madden and controlled the Eagles Redskins Cowboys and Giants.

  4. The only game where I was not okay with Edwards checking down every game was the Browns game. Lee Evans was wide open in several instances on replays and Edwards never even looked in his direction. I recall Jaws commenting on those instances, one instance was where Lee was open in the endzone waving his arms.

  5. No offense but I don't like that team either. If your league starts more than one quarterback at a time then maybe it has okay depth but you are lacking a quality starter in every position aside from quarterback and Tight end, and questionable depth. You should do what you can and trade for some quality starters.

  6. I know I heard that Drew was cut by the Ravens. Anyone have an update? Did he sign on with another team? UFL?

He's in Buffalo working out with the Buffalo Bulls. He's hoping for a phone call to get to play somewhere in the NFL. He says that playing in the UFL or CFL is not an option for him because if hes going to make it he's going to make it big. Maybe some Kurt Warner humility might change his mind....And I'm not comparing him to Kurt Warner.

  7. I'm pretty sure that Eric Wood went to Louisville. Minor mistake by Carucci.

In Wood's final two seasons at Oregon State, he was credited with more than 180 knockdowns, which wasn't easy from the center position where he was attempting to get his 310-pound frame under defensive tackles weighing at least as much, if not more. Wood played with a simple philosophy. The moment the tackle tried to get separation on a running play, he would "dump him in the dirt." And if the tackle left his feet to try and get his hands in front of a pass, he was "going to hit the ground."

Perhaps one of you guys have some sort of connection with him and can alert him of this minor mistake.
