  1. His production goes beyond just receptions. But I somewhat agree. It's risky. But 10mill a year wouldn't be bad. I would prefer to give him around 8.5-9.5.

Not saying you but we had Bills fans that didn't want to pay Stevie 8.5 mill per year....and he is only 25! And only has 2 real years under his belt.... its too much...and we aren't that close to be a title contending team to over pay for a wr on the decline

How can you justify paying Jackson 10 mil or so a year for a WR that is 29 years old, never had over 70 Receptions in a season and has only been over 1000 yards 3 times in his career? He is about to be 30 years old. This would be a terrible deal for Buffalo in that San Diego had Phillip Rivers throwing to Jackson throughout his career, we have Fitz. I believe 10 million a year could be spent better between 2 or 3 younger players (including a WR).

    Agreed completely

  2. I dont understand why anyone would like to trade draft picks for a wide receiver when this is a strong free agency for wide receivers......

Take advantage of it.....Vincent Jackson, Meechum, Manningham, the list goes on there are SEVERAL free agent wide outs that could step in and help us immedietely......

Linebackers and DEs that can help us are not as in plentiful supply......that is where our draft picks should be going.....also our backup QB position is not good........we need to draft a project that has a realistic chance of being decent down the road.

Because you will end up over pay for a wr that you can draft....and defensively you can get a player in FA that can come in and make an impact right away.....

  3. The computer has picked Upshaw, Floyd or Ingram each week. I think the WR comes to us via FA. Here are the 5 WR's as per the Bills website.

Of those, Colston 6'4", 225 and VJax 6'5" 230 fill the big receiver mold that Nix is looking for.

Can't see signed almost 30 year old WR's to contract that will end up being atleast 5 years long and between 9-10 mil...when you can get a rookie same potential, size and skill set who is 21 years old and 3 mil a year

  4. Ummm...No, niot really. We should draft a defensive player and that's final. Not that Blackmon isn't amazing, he is, but he's not worth trading up to get.

They also said they won't stretch to draft a defensive player....couples, upshaw, ect...... all are streches when you think about using them in 4-3 defense.... so you have to think over talent .... floyd/Blackmon or Couples/Upshaw which talent will be more rare or harder to find on day 2? ....

The evaluation for defensive players have been all over the board during this draft process so far....

4-3 defensive! ...in a draft filled with 3-4 defenders....so do you take a guy who is not top 10 talent just because of the defense you have in place? If that's the case just trade down and pick up an additional pick in the 2nd or 3rd round.....

  5. Get Michael Floyd in the 1st. Floyd, Johnson, Nelson and a TE (hopefully Chandler) and you have a sick WR core with a backfield of Spiller and FJax. The offense skill positions are actually pretty bad ass. The interior of line is strong and if Harriston can develop as a LT then line is pretty solid.

    Then draft 2 DEs 2 LBs, Maybe a 4th round O-line, a DB and a TE Thats 8 picks.

We get 1 more for a wildcard BPA.

Agreed once again we are closer to having a great offense than we are to having an average Defense

  6. Here the truth!

Before injuries destroyed our offensive line team, before Fred was hurt,Before Fitz got his ribs broke, Before Chan made horrible 4th qrt decision and before Stevie Dropped that pass....

Our offense was on the verge of becoming special.....

drafting offense gets us closer to becoming a play-off team than drafting defense...especially in the early rd.....if we can secure a top WR and a TOP TE ... that puts us over the top on offense ....then draft defense and be agressive in FA....

  7. Imma loyal buckeye fan.... my last year homer pick went to Terrel Pryor (still is gonna be a good Nfl player)

But this years Pick is Devier Posey watched him for 3 years and het got better and better minus the whole tattoo thing but....6'2 210 ... strong route running WR ....ran a 4.5 at the combine but has 4.4 type speed....

Remind me a lot of Stevie Johnson, with just the raw instictive ability to get open.......

If we don't take a WR with the first pick would love to get him on the 2nd day automactic upgrade at WR (although for out wr core its not saying much)

  8. Ok, just want to say "I was wrong Stevie." I did not think you would end up signing here, because given your attempts to gain attention, I figured you would go to a bigger market. Good on you!

People think it was about personal attention....and he very showed that he was a selfish person outside of 1 end zone celebration ... which was still funny!
