  1. No disrespect to the OP, but these Sports Science segments are useless. They offer very little relevant information.

"He taps his toes on the sideline with 50 lbs of force which is less than 23% of his total body weight." So what?

A sprinter is taught to run light, it speaks to their body control

  2. We need to draft a solid player at 10 for depth. We need to draft a guy just in case someone gets hurt. Use the top pick as a safe pick, at the 10th pick we don't need elite or special talent we just need a guy we can plug in.

Sounds very lame and kinda silly right?

Well if we draft any OT at 10, that's exactly what the thinking will be.

10th pick we can take an IMPACT player at WR,DE,LB,CB ...if we draft a OT that will not beat out Hairston who you can argue out peformed Bell, we are just draft for depth.

  3. Be careful! Don't let the "we must draft an OT in the fist round" crowd see you posting this!

Not just draft an OT but draft him for DEPTH! Use out 10th pick for DEPTH at the OT position! ...

Was preach about Floyd when people was posting Upshaw before free-agency....he was the only reason I watched Norte Dame football this year and hardly ever dissapointed...and our QB needs a play maker at wr more than a back up OT

  4. Last week I said we should NOT pass on Richardson, because at 10 without a doubt he would be the most valuable player! No other player would have his value at 10 .... guys like reiff and martin come a dime a dozen...look at where we have drafted most of the players on our offensive line....look at where we drafted Hairston last year..... I'm not say Richardson is a need but he would the most talented player on the board

  5. 1. Aaron Rodgers is a quarterback. Quarterback is one of (many) positions the Bills have traditionally neglected, in order to squander picks on the running back position. I take your point that a player can sometimes outperform the expectations associated with his draft position. But if the Bills are looking for players like that, let it be at any position other than running back!

    A. I was adressing the point that just because a player is passed on does not diminish his talent or value as a player...whether QB,RB, or WR, TE ect....

    2. I'll grant that RBs can sometimes have longer than usual careers. But it's worth noting that Edgerrin James was drafted a few years after Peyton Manning. But do you know who the Colt's starting RB was the last time they won the Super Bowl? Hint: it wasn't Edgerrin James. His useful career had ended, and he'd moved onto another team, before Manning hoisted that Lombardi Trophy. The point here being that even a guy who has a long career by RB standards won't necessarily have a long career by any kind of absolute standard.

    B. We don't have Peyton manning as a QB, we don't have tom Brady, we don't have Eli and don't have Ben ...we have Fitz and the less he has to do the better ...Trent makes it easier for everyone

    3. I hear "game changing athlete" and "helps move the chains" every time the Bills decide to squander a first round pick on yet another RB. Yet somehow those RBs keep getting traded away for fourth round picks, or (if we're lucky) third round picks. Meanwhile, Jay Cutler was traded away for two first round picks. The Bills' RBs over the years haven't been great, but they've been reasonably good. While Jay Cutler may be better at QB than McGahee, Lynch, or Henry were at RB, most of the reason for that disparity in trade value is because a RB is a lot less valuable than a QB. And because RBs' careers are shorter, so a few years of mileage on a RB matters a lot more than a few years of mileage on a QB.

    C. I understand all of that, and in not trying to convince you, I'm saying open your mind to potentially having most dominating back field in the NFL for the next 4-5 years!!!....

    4. The fact that the Bills wouldn't be squandering their whole draft on a RB is no excuse to avoid seeking a real long-term answer at LT or CB or some other critical position with their first round pick.

    D. Don't know if you watch basketball the Pistons in 2004 drafted Darko Milicic because they needed a center or big, with the 2nd pick ... left on the board was Carmelo Anthony and Dwayne Wade.... they choose Need over talent ...... sometimes its worth the risk to go talent over need especially if the players that fill a need don't blow your mind.....

If the teams that pick 4 - 9 in the draft decide not to pick this guy, it likely means they've made a strategic decision that a RB just isn't valuable enough to justify a top-10 pick. They're 100% right. That logic applies even more strongly to the Bills, because Fred Jackson eliminates any short term need at RB, and Spiller greatly lessens the long term need for one.

    E. It does not take away Richarsons game changing talent and ability no matter where he goes in the draft. If the Bills did draft him, and after you boo'd cried whined and moaned....he still comes to buffalo as a game changer. Btw: he might be better than AP because he is a threat out of the backfield

I'm not trying to change anyone mind about Richardson. But its funny how so many people don't believe we can win with a QB like Fitz because of his arm, but don't want add a guy that could make our running game and backfield GREAT! For the next 4-6 years, and I sayd 4-6 years because of contracts and FA...

  6. You can absolutely have too much talent at RB--at least if you used first round picks to acquire that talent!

Over the last 40 years, the Bills have used 10 of their first picks of the draft on RBs, and another 10 on DBs. That's 50% of their first picks of the draft on RBs + DBs! None were used on QBs, and only two on OTs.

The absolute last thing this team should consider is yet another first round RB! There are any number of reasons why this is the case:

    1. If Trent Richardson truly is a top-3 talent--as some here are claiming--then let someone else take him in the top 3. If he falls to 10, then that means that teams 4 - 9 saw something in him they didn't like. If that's the case, why not make it teams 4 - 10? It's not as though the Bills have this gaping hole at RB that teams 4 - 9 don't have.

    2. Fred Jackson may be nearing the end of his useful career. Part of the reason for that is because RBs' careers tend to be very short. So why use the 10th overall pick to take a RB, now, when it'll be a few years before any hole appears at the position? Why waste a few years of what's already going to be a short career?

    3. The Bills already have a first round talent at RB in the form of Spiller. Is it really, truly necessary to have two first round talents at RB?

    4. Is it necessary for the Bills to eschew a long term answer at some critical position--such as CB or LT--in order to have a still more crowded backfield?

    5. Why on earth would the Bills even be thinking about the running back position when they have actual holes at far more important positions?

I would rather the Bills take a punter at 10th overall than a running back! At least with a punter you know he's not going to live up to his draft position. Better that than a few years of false hope, followed by the sad realization that the front office had squandered yet another first round pick.

Your whole logic is fool.... start with yout first comment

    1. Aaron Rogers....need I say more?

    2. RB who carry a heavy work load and are not as physically conditioned ... steph jackson is a prime example of a well conditioned RB .... and Rb last even long as a one two punch

3.get off the RB thing he is a game changing athlete on offense ...go watch the tapes...he will move the chains that helps the offense and the defense

    4. You still have a 2nd, a 3rd and two 4ths ...and young talent from last year at those positions

    5. Already been discussed .....

Not that it is everything but he did run JUST under a 4.6. So much for his AMAZING workout.

    LOL!!!!!

False... He just ran a 4.43 .... clocked an unofficial 4.39.... and well noted he runs just as fast in pads....

  7. When we drafted Spiller everyone thought it was the worst pick and cried for like two years and called Spiller a bust. So what irrational fans think don't bother me.

We can reach and draft a OT.... Especially if Reiff isn't avaialble....and we still have Bell on a string....

This is a WR heavy draft like EVERYONE has said.... plus we have easley,Aiken and two 4th round picks

now some miracle happens and like Tannahil (or however you spell his name) goes early in the top ten, or some team trades up for reiff or floyd it can shift the draft, or some team just takes a guy they like

So are telling me you'd pass on Richardson for Mike Adams , or Martin? Or Upshaw?

He is a special, special player everyone that has watched him play on game day, practice, and workout, all calls him special....but if the thought of drafting a special player offends soo many people blows my mind....

He is a 1tier player you find away to make it work,After Spiller, we have 31 year old RB god knows love what he has done for us but what if he doesn't come back as strong?, then we have Choice and then White ..... nuff said

  8. Richardson may be a good RB for the next 5-7 years, but there is nothing to indicate that is he the 2nd coming of Sanders, Simpson, Payton, Dickerson, etc...

How many more wins does he give the Bills versus the combo of Jacksaon & Spiller. Instead draft a player at a position of need who would hopefully come in and provide significant improvement over the players currently listed on the depth charts?

Then you haven't seen him play....he has number 1 pick value

  9. Haahahahhah Troll! Still pissed we selected Spiller? LOL.

Go back and read my post I've been a big supported of spiller since he was drafted, my point is Richardson a raw rare talent, he is adrian peterson.

Our running game with Spiller would be amazing with Trent and Spiller, and when you can't pass or Fitz is struggling you could win games on defense and pounding the ball.

I understand people disagreements, completely but talent, skill, ability, worth! ,and value at the 10 pick would not be matched

  10. LOL he is an Elite WR! Watch the games! We would be lucky even if he feel to 10! And if he does fall to 10 its not because he isn't a 70-80 1000 yard 6-8 td 15yrds per catch player...it will be because WR isn't a majot need or everyone is thinking we can grabCAPABLE wr's later....
