  1. I was just reading an article where Dave W says that the D will be more aggressive and play tighter coverage this week. Why the heck didn't we address these items DURING the game last week?!?!? My 13 year old niece was asking why we weren't covering the Jets Receivers. If she noticed it (like the rest of us) then why didn't Wanny?

    :thumbsup:

  2. Moorman is kicking as well as ever and he's obviously the Bills punter in 2012, but he'll be a 37-year-old free agent next year. Ergo, I can still see the Bills hiding Powell on the practice squad for the future - and also in case anything happens to our 36-year-old punter during the season.

    :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

  3. If John Potter completely out performs Rian Lindell, which he has to this point, how does Chan Gailey NOT start him over Rian Lindell? Camp is to figure out which players are best suited to make the team, so shouldn't the better performer be rewarded with a starting nod?

    I know it's early in camp but Potter hasn't missed a single field goal. He's already going to have a roster spot just for his leg on kick offs. So why not give Lindell's roster spot to a guy like Carrington, Troup, D. Edwards, Aiken, Hagan or anybody else that deserves it. Seems smart to me.

    " Both Rian Lindell and John Potter tried field goals from 45 yards, 49 yards, 55 yards and 59 yards. Potter nailed them all and his 59-yard field goal sailed right thru the middle. Lindell hit the upright on the 55-yard field goal and appeared to be a bit short on the the 59-yard field goal."

    I personally am hoping Potter takes Lindell's roster spot. The better player should always win in situations like this. No matter the tenure of the incumbent.

  4. i absolutely agree that a healthy shawne merriman is an extreme positive in several ways. and all of those ways take this defense from "what if?" to "holy $%!!". but i think that his biggest impact could be attacking from the edge as a de. stand up or hand in the dirt doesn't matter, i just don't want him to even consider covering anyone at anytime. seek and destroy should be the only game he is playing on sundays.

    :thumbsup::beer:

  5. By all means, if Merriman is healthy as possible, it will be complete chaos.

    I also take comfort in knowing that our defense will and should still be better even if he goes down.

    Go Buffalo! Go Merriman!

  6. Powell definitely has a chance. You have to figure that he'll see a lot of snaps in the preseason since the Bills already know what Moorman can do. If he comes out of the gate destroying the ball on each punt, we could very well see Moorman's final days in Buffalo.

    What's more likely to happen however is that Powell gets cut and is Option #1 in case there is an injury to Moorman or his play declines suddenly in the season.

  7. if he is back to "lights out"... mario is 300+ lbs... kyle returns to pro bowl form... anderson puts up the same #s... dareus gets sophomore love... and gilmore plays like a top ten pick this defense will be a SERIOUS contender for best defense in the league... no joke

  8. I know the knock on him has been his health. Unfortunately, his first major injury was a freak accident, which normally doesn’t happen often in the NFL. But his second major injury (last year) was a typical one. I’d love to see the Bills resign Wood, but I completely understand about needing a durable football player, especially at the Center position. Wood is a blue-collar guy, a fan favorite, and a great football player when he is healthy. But if he gets injured again this season, I doubt the Bills would try to resign him (as painful as that sounds).

    well put!!! :thumbsup:
