    SHOCKER

the truckers are a "make America great again" movement?  that seems weird.  maybe they wanna be in a "make North America great again" movement?  then it would be MNAGA right?  MNAGA kinda sounds too much like a slur when said aloud though.

I don’t feel weird about it.  I’ve dabbled in the business here and there.  It’s hard.  I struggle with the idea that education is this hugely important and hugely expensive investment in our future, and we entice to it talent willing to work for, in many cases around here, a whopping $16/hour to start.  I appreciate that the benefits are good, and that there is ample time off.  But we might have much better luck getting really good talent if we paid a bit more.  Now, if someone wants to say that it’s absurd that, in the Buffalo area, we have dozens of administrators who earn nearly as much as the governor, I will agree with them all day long.  That aspect of the pay structure is outrageous.

i agree with alot of what you say here.  however, there are so many bad teachers, and their jobs are safe.  interestingly, to me, the great teachers actually work less hard.  they tend to have great systems and some sort of "it" factor and the class seems to run itself.

Hoax.  There you go thinking about me again.

I’ll take “who moved my cheese” for $200.

It actually is kind of an interesting story.  I would have like to have seen grandma’s reaction when confronted with the video of the heist.  And I feel badly for you for having to deal with knuckleheads like that.  Nobody who puts up with grandma litigating nonsense like that makes enough money.

i always feel kinda weird when people say teachers dont make enough $.  i agree there are some amazing teachers and they wont be paid for their skill.  i knew how much a teacher made when i went to college.  i decided that was good enough for me since we really only work about 190 days a year.  a few years ago i changed my mind about the $ and left teaching and coaching to do my own business.  i still love working with young people so i will sub teach once in awhile.

  4. about 6 years ago, i when i was an elementary teacher...i walk past the cafeteria with a table of kids having a fit.  they accused a kid of stealing a piece of cheese.  i move the cheese thief to a "quiet table" and move along.  the next day the grandma of cheese thief shows up and starts screaming at me about "her grandson isnt a thief, i have no right to believe 6 kids over his word, blah blah."   i suggest we check the cameras, but then she says that isnt needed because it isnt that serious.  but i insist, the cameras shows the cheese being sloten and eaten.  thanks cameras!

  5. as a teacher i would love a camera on me at all times.  i have nothing to hide and it would protect me if a child lied about something.  if parents have a live look in they might see their perfect angel isnt what they thought.  there are already cameras in the hallways, gym, cafeteria, etc.  there are plenty of businesses and jobs where a camera is on the employees, this isnt a big deal.

Beach….what state are you in and what age group are the kids?

im in Virginia.  today i subbed elementary PE.  to update my mask findings:  its seemed the older kids (2nd-5th) were 75% maskeless but the K and 1st graders were 75% masked.  also, a 2nd grade girl was wearing a shirt that had emojis wearing masks but interestingly she wasnt masked.

Why are Bills fans so triggered by anything the Pats or their players do? Brady is no longer there,  Jones is no Brady and Pats are looking up to us.  We have the prize stud QB ,  now we just need Beane to get some defensive play makers and we can maybe finally win some Super Bowls .  Again I could care less about the Pats,  goal should be winning Super Bowls

i didnt even care that it was a Pats player, i was amused and entertained watching a "pro bowler" show "skills".

Maybe you're the person to talk to?  I've been experimenting with homemade pizza recipes with less than desired results.  Purchasing pre-made frozen pizza dough from the local supermarket.  With my latest attempt I used a round cooking stone in my gas oven.  Using standard toppings like pepperoni, mushrooms, red onion, and provolone and mozzarella cheeses.

Although I used an ample amount of flour on the stone surface, I encountered some sticking of the crust.  The end result was a somewhat crispy outer crust but without the desired browning and color.  And some sticking damage to the crust underneath.  In the oven for about 18 minutes at 425 degrees.  Do you suggest a longer cooking time or a higher temperature?  And a better method of creating a non-stick surface for the pie?

i also use a pre-made frozen dough.  i spray a pizza pan with cooking spray and spread the dough on it.  i let it rise.  after its risen, i flatten it (not too much), add my sauce, cheese, toppings.  into the oven at 400 for about 20 minutes.  if the bottom isnt crisp, i put it on the rack without the pan for a couple minutes.

(i worked at a pizza place for 10 years in Utica)

Carrot sticks are tasty and for me the texture and water content of the celery sticks cuts the heat from the hot sauce.  Which is another key factor, mild, medium, hot, or something approaching thermo-nuclear.  I prefer medium but as I've gotten a little older have dialed back on the heat.

i go hot but not too hot.  franks redhot seems to be the perfect heat for me.  i make my own pizza/wings because i havent been able to find anything suitable in Virginia Beach.

Saying you don't like the pizza in Buffalo is like saying you don't like the beer in Germany.

Germany has over 8,000 independent brewers and they make all kinds of diverse beers from dry Pils beers to dark Schwarzbier to wheat beer to everything in between.

There are certain pizzerias in Buffalo I don't like AT ALL, but then there are others that I love.

The pizza is as diverse as the pizzerias, and there are a million of them.

i have not found any pizza in Buffalo that i like.  i agree with Mongo, its our opinion.
