  1. Roscoe Parrish is a decent 4th receiver. I like the guy and hope he finds a place on this team, but I no longer expect him to develop into a star.

I mean, he's going into his SEVENTH SEASON in the league. If he was going to truly break out, he'd have done so by now. I mean, look at Johnson - he made the most of his chances and broke out in a big way.

That doesn't mean I want him cut, that just means I only want to see him in 4-wide and maybe some 3-wide sets.

  2. They ruined his career by moving him to ILB.

He was a 4-3 edge rusher in college. He was good at dipping and coming around the edge. He doesn't really fit their current scheme so they just decided to roll the dice and try something new.

It's over for him now. Too bad, I thought he had some potential. If he had been in a 4-3 system and they had him bulk up a bit, I think he would have had a better chance.

Don't get me wrong, though - he was still always going to be a longshot anywhere he went and the Bills couldn't really be expected to build their whole defense around him.

  3. I generally like Walter Football and feel like they are usually fairly reasonable with their takes.

I was looking at their season previews, and was shocked to see them project the Bills as a 9-7 team this year.

I think they are smoking crack on this one. Walter Football lost some credibility with me on this one, but I figure it would give some of you guys a boner so here you go:

edit: btw I put them at 5-11 but I suppose it's good that someone outside this message board gives them a shot

  4. If that's your solution then you don't understand why the rule was put in place.

They kick off from closer and allow the players a shorter run up now. These changes reduce violent collisions. Moving up where the touchback is awarded doesn't change these "benefits", but just induces kickers to keep it in play more often.

  5. The fix is to have touchbacks give you the ball on the 30. Then kickers will have a reason to try to finesse a high floater to the goal line instead of just booting it out the back of the end zone. Of perhaps punt off instead of kick off, since punts are still deemed safe.

To answer your question, yes, of course it is too late to change. This rule is here for this year and won't be addressed until after the season. It might not even change after this year, either. I mean, they KNEW FULL WELL that every kickoff would be a touchback when they made this rule. It's not like they are unaware of how far an NFL kicker can kick the ball.

  6. Bills are too dumb to get luck.

They will be in a close race with the likes of the Bengals, and win some meaningless late season game to blow the pick.

If somehow they manage to get the number one pick, there's a fair chance he would just stay in college, and do what Elway/Manning did and just go play somewhere else anyways.

  7. They drafted pretty well and morale went up some.

Then they did nothing much in free agency. Yes, they signed a couple guys, but also lost a bunch of guys, and didn't get any better. Not addressing the o-line was especially disheartening.

The loss of Evans just reminds everywhere of what an inept organization this is, and it's just hard to be fired up when you know you are fighting and uphill battle every year, and there is really not much hope for the future since nothing will change until there is a change in ownership.

  8. Poz is good at the following:

    1) Having bad haircuts.

    2) Finally tackling running backs 10 yards downfield.

    3) Being Polish.

    4) Letting running backs drag him an extra few yards every time after first contact.

    5) Being white.

    6) Racking up misleading stats.

    7) Fleecing the Jags for millions because he vaguely reminds someone of a young Jack Del Rio.

  9. And second of all, no it's not. I will bet you $100 they finish with at least 4 wins right now even odds.

So you are trying to set the line at 3.5 wins and take the over at 1:1 odds?

You should seriously get banned from scamming. I have no idea what the rules are on this forum, but trying to cheat people out of real money must be some sort of violation.

I will also take that bet from anyone that wants to bet. I will bet the over with some sucker at 3.5 wins. I will then bet that same $100 on the under with a sportsbook at 5.5 wins. If they finish with 0-3 wins, it's a push for me. If they finish with 6+ wins, it's also a push for me. However, if they finish with 4-5 wins (their most likely win total), I win BOTH bets. He is just trying to freeroll on some unsuspecting user, it's a total scam.

  10. I am as big a critic of Jim Overdorf as anyone. It's possible, although this is a rumor on the level of Pat Moran, that he is the anti-Christ.

But since I badmouth him so much, and he has received so much vitriol here and elsewhere in the last week especially, I feel it is only fair to give him kudos for the Kyle Williams deal. It seems to me to be fair to both side. Great deal for the Bills, and a great deal for Kyle considering that he would have to wait two years to test the open market. I know there is already a Kyle extension thread, but I thought that since The Devil gets so much crud, and deservedly so, for his blunders and terrible decisions, that he should also get credit when credit is due.

The Morrison signing, although it was only one year and happened due to Torbor's injury, was also sweet, IMO.

I don't expect it to last, but it may, as we try to re-sign Stevie, Fitz and Fred.

This is some A+ quality trolling - game respects game.

  11. So the Bills "don't have the personnel" to utilize a good, fast WR.

I guess they should just never go deep, eh? Sounds like a GREAT offensive gameplan. No one will be able to exploit that!

We don't have a good line that can protect a QB, should we try to avoid a good QB prospect them since we don't have the personnel to utilize him?

Who else on the team should we throw away for nothing because we are "lacking the personnel to take advantage of them"?

    LOL

  12. The whole argument about not having the personnel or scheme to utilize him is ridiculous.

By that logic, we should jettison every decent player on the team because we don't have good personnel or a good scheme. You need many pieces to the puzzle. If you have a decent piece, you don't throw it away.

  13. I don't consider it a tangent at all. I was originally responding to another poster who said he couldn't always have made more money in Buffalo, and since he is only a businessman, all he cares about is making money. Ralph could sell 64% of the team if he wanted, for well over $500 in cash, and still have total control over it the way he does now (if he divided it up so they couldn't outvote him. Or 49% for $375 million or whatever, and have the team move and make a killing.

IF of course, he is all about money.

Of course he is cheap at times. Of course he doesn't spend like we think he should or others would in his position. One of his biggest faults, IMO, is exactly what you said, about paying coaches and football men and front office people. And of course he has a great deal in Buffalo.

If he wanted to make a lot more money for himself, however, he could whenever he wanted. ;)

You keep talking about selling portions of the team. That is not relevant, as was already pointed out to you.

The portion of the team he would sell for $X00 million is still worth that same amount of money if he doesn't choose to sell it. It's not like he is short on spending cash. By selling off a portion or not selling off a portion, his overall wealth doesn't really change either way. If you have $100 worth of gold and sell it for $100 cash, you didn't make money.
