I have been a fan since 1986, so at 25 years logged I don't quite qualify by your parameters. The only thing that would make this situation worse is if DJ was still coaching. The ownership is feeble and the talent level is well below average at every position except DBs and RBs. Gailey & Nix are unknown quantities and not yet proven mediocrities like past regimes - that is the only defense I have for some optimism.

For all the criticism of weight, attitude, immaturity, etc. the kid is the fastest player we've had off the edge this century. His only job this year seems to be to get to the passer. Forget about whether the pick was justified - let's see if he can get to the QB. I say he'll lead the team with 8-10 minimum.
