  1. I blame Rex

    Yeah.

    Rex drafted him.

Rex was well aware of his off field issues and re-signed him to a 100 million dollar contract anyways.

Rex was well aware of his off field issues and demanded a stipulation in his contract that allows him to receive future guaranteed money if he is suspended.

    It is all Rex's fault.

  2.

    Pegula's fix your franchise, wtf.

The franchise will be a circus of dysfunction, chaos and a culture of losing until the Pegula's begin to identify that Russ Brandon and Doug Whaley are part of the larger issues surrounding the Buffalo Bills organization.

  3. Probably was on the table in negotiations. Whaley and co bought that Marcel had changed. A mistake, but not egregious, IMO.

If this is true it is some of the most egregious contract language ever to concede to a player.

But should be of no surprise to anyone when Ralph's puppets (Brandon, Whaley and Overdorf) still run the show at One Bills Drive.

  4.

Agreed. It's not Rex's fault that Marcel got stoned. But Pegula, Whaley, and Ryan should take a stand and insist that anyone not in line with team goals won't play here. We suck with Dareus and we can suck without him.

Whaley and Brandon are the key figures here that had complete information on Marcell. This is where I lay blame the most within the organization other than the idiot Marcell himself.

  5. Dareus is an immature, unprofessional, selfish, punk. Like the saying goes, do your job. Billichek would have cut this assclown long ago.

and this was all well known before Rex Ryan became head coach and Whaley gave him that monster extension.

I put ZERO blame on Rex here with regards to the situation the Bills are in with Marcell.

  6. We can argue back and forth about Bills management, but anyone who doesn't understand that under Rex, the Bills have been possibly the worst disciplined team on the field, in the NFl, has either not been paying attention or is in total denial.

And this guy is the one who drives me the most nuts:

    http://www.nflpenalties.com/player/j-hughes-buffalo-bills?year=2015

They were just as bad with Doug Marrone with penalties as head coach.

Part of the problem is the cast that Doug Whaley assembles too!

As much as I dislike Rex as a coach, I fail to see how this is his fault.

However, we seem to like to bring in a lot of not so smart players.

This issue starts and stops with Doug Whaley.

  7. Wrong application of the phrase when the example from the Steelers demonstrates the hypocrisy of those posters calling for Rex's head. You cant attack Rex and look away from Superbowl winning Tomlin.

Rex Ryan has NOTHING to do with Marcel Dareus. He was drafted by Whaley/Nix prior to Rex even being here and Marcells problems were evident and was resigned by Doug Whaley anyways prior to Rex's first full season as head coach.

If any issue could be associated with Dareus it is with Doug Whaley, Jim Overdorf, Russ Brandon and Terry Pegula for putting these people in their respective positions to make these decisions.

Just take a look at his contract. Jesús El Savior Christ. He needs to get a handle on his business or things could get very ugly for the Bills. Any word on if there are protections for the team in the event that he would do something like he just did? I'll dig on that.

    FWIW

    Field Yates Retweeted Adam Schefter

FWIW: Dareus' contract does not have void language of guaranteed money tied to a substance abuse-related suspension.

  9. Its total nonsense...its legal in how many states?

This argument is nonsense and a red herring.

Certain allergy medicine is also a banned substance per the NFL.

If Marcel is dumb enough to put known, blatantly obvious banned substance in his body than there are NO excuses.

  10. Never called it the ralph, always Rich Stadium.

If the old dead cheapskate would have sold the naming rights in 98' instead of putting his own name on the outside it could have helped finance the expansions and saved the taxpayers millions annually.

Yup! Ralph was ALWAYS crying poor but he didn't do the easiest and most obvious thing to generate an extra revenue stream and that was selling the naming rights to the stadium! He would rather scare Bills fans into buying tickets and conning the city of Toronto in (not) getting a team.

  11. Its always The Ralph to me. I hate commercial selling bull **** and naming rights. I long for the good old days of football "the game" not the commercial enterprise. I understand someone's got to bring in the bacon, so I accept it as part of the game, but I am a die hard old school Bills fan.

If you were a die hard old school Bills Fan you would call it Rich Stadium especially if you went to games and was around that prime atmosphere (tailgating and watching football) in the 80's and early 90's when it was named that.

  12. Things will only change when the owner is able to identify people to properly evaulate the franchise and player personnel.

When Ralph's garbage still runs the show (Brandon and Whaley), the more things change around the Bills (ownership, coaches etc) the dysfunction to no surprise still stays the same!

  13.

    The Hope-a-dash-ery?

Not hope. Wilson was just a terrible owner IMO. One of the worst NFL owners ever IMO. Also, Russ Brandon and Whaley being retained under the Pegulas shows me he fails to identify proper people to run this franchise just like Ralph.

Ralph's stink still lives on and the Bills are just as poorly run with Pegula as they were with Ralph.

  14. I will refer to it with anything other than having Ralph Wilson in the name.

Just like the Rogers centre in Toronto will always be the SkyDome to me, the Ralph will always be the Ralph.

The proper analogy with this would be Rogers Centre will always be the SkyDome and the Ralph/New Era will always be Rich Stadium.

  15. In the span of 3 months, this happened:

    1. May: 1st round pick Shaq Lawson, whose shoulder removed him from other teams' boards suffers a shoulder injury during a non-contact drill. He undergoes surgery and will not be able to play until Week 8.

    2. May: The same day Lawson's injury is announced, it is revealed Sammy Watkins had foot surgery a month previous and is uncertain for training camp.

    3. May: The Bills media policy is made known and widely panned for preventing any record of what players do in practice. Later, the policy is walked back.

    4. May: GM Doug Whaley tells WGR 550 radio that football is "a violent game that I personally don't think humans are supposed to play." The team is forced to issue a clarification the following day.

    5. July: Karlos Williams shows up 20+ pounds overweight and later is suspended 4 games for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy.

    6. July: Jonathan Williams, a 2016 5th round pick is arrested for DWI in Arkansas.

    7. July: Manny Lawson is injured while working out and misses the beginning of training camp.

    8. August: Reggie Ragland, a 2nd round pick the team depended on as an immediate starter, suffers a knee injury and will miss the 2016 season.

    9. August: Cordy Glenn suffers a high ankle sprain and will miss the entire pre-season. Expected to be available for week 1.

    10. August: Manny Lawson is suspended 1 game for a violation of the league's domestic violence policy.

    11. August: Marcell Dareus suspended 4 games for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy.

I didn't include McCoy's fight with off-duty cops in Philadelphia, but considered it (EDIT:) because he was not charged.

Whaley is a top 5 GM.

Pegula is one of the best owners in football.

    and

    Russ Brandon is a genius.
