  1. As of right now, Miami has the top rated defense with only allowing 166 yards. If you look at what Mike Nolan (Miami's DC) did as the Broncos defensive coordinator last year, the Broncos D was the strong point on the team. Last year, their defense finished at #7 http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=true&conference=null&role=OPP&offensiveStatisticCategory=null&defensiveStatisticCategory=GAME_STATS&season=2009&seasonType=REG&tabSeq=2&qualified=true&Submit=Go

I was reading on bb.com, that Gailey & co were having a hard time game planning for Miami's defense, because of bringing in Nolan. In the preseason, the Miami D was vanilla, so they had to look at what the Broncos did last year. It's obvious that Nolan outcoached Gailey as Gailey couldn't find answers to the Miami D. Can Gailey get the offense to rebound? In the Bills first preseason game, the offense looked horrible (like yesterday), but the offense rebounded and played well in the next two games. I'm hoping Gailey can do that with the offense again.

Only time will tell throughout season if Nolan and the Miami defense are really that dominant, and if the Bills offense is that horrible.

The Broncos did have a hot start last year, mainly due to their defense. Let's hope Cooter can get the offense turned around quick, otherwise we're in for another long, painful season on offense.

  2. The penalty would have put the Bills in FG position. If the Bills kick the FG, then I believe the Bills have 6 points on the board at that time. After the Parrish TD, the game would have been tied 13-13. I'm not saying the Bills would have won the game at that point, especially with the way the offense was playing, but the Bills got screwed out of that chance. Like another poster stated, blown calls by the refs should be allowed to be challenged.

Great points. While almost everyone here on the board will bash Edwards up and down, you can throw the blame at the refs and also the O-line. Edwards throws a nice pass to Nelson for a first down, but is called back due to holding. The O-line (Bell & Green) looked ****ty in pass protection today and had Edwards scrambling numerous times or on his back. Gailey should have used the wildcat earlier and more often. Granted, Edwards did not play well, but the whole game should not be blamed on him either.

  3. got a text from a fellow backer here in Tn...listening to Mike and Mike making predictions for this week and of course picked Miami because the Bills are "the worst team they have ever seen"..

WTF? I don't care about all the negative articles and feel we'll shut some people up, but that is rediculous.....watch a friggen game..

I suffered through 2-14 twice in the 80's....this team isn't only not in the same zip code, it's the not in the same solar system...if we sucked that bad wouldn't we have hardly scored in pre-season, not had any defensive turnovers, lots of offensive turnovers and penalties??? I mean a horrible team would look, oh I don't know, HORRIBLE??????

    Squish the fish...Go Bills!

These guys are a bunch of ass clowns!

  4. Actually, the Bills played arguably their best game of the year on Opening Day, surprising everyone including us (and obviously excluding the late stupid fumble that lost it). The OL was clicking like NO ONE imagined. The offense moved the ball like they hadn't at all in pre-season. The defense was stellar the entire game until giving up TDs on perfect passes late, one on a 25 yard drive.

Everyone plays the Pats like it's their superbowl. I look at how the Bills did after that game.

  5. If I land on the moon, will I be the Astronaut of the Year? About as much of a chance of that happening as the Bills going 10-6. Hopefully things are on the upswing, but it isn't going to happen that quick, if it does at all. 99.9% of people don't expect them to win 6 games, much less only lose 6. Optimism is great, but you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Let's see if he can win a game or two before we talk coach of the year, or COF (whatever that is?).

99.9%? There are a lot of people on the board that think the Bills will win 8 games or more. We already saw in the preseason that the offense looked much better. Now, before you make another ridiculous comment, yes it was preseason, so I know all the cliches already...games don't count, schemes are vanilla, starters don't play long etc...etc.. But look at the 2009 preseason, the starting offense was absolutely pitiful.

Gailey has already shown to be a much more competent coach in the short time he's been here, compared to the 3+ years Dick Jauron & company were running this team. If you can't see that, then enjoy your moon trip.

11-5 and a Wild Card spot.

  7. Last year, the Bills lost to the Pats by a combined 8 points. 1 point in the first game and 7 points in the second game. With a new coaching regime in charge and what looks to be a better offense (knock on wood), is this the year the Bills finally get a win over the Pats?

My vote is yes. Granted, the Pats still have Brady, one of the best QB's in the league, but they are also in the decline. Their defense is young and is nowhere near as good as it used to be, plus they have no run game.

    Your thoughts...

  8. I don't see either team winning by ten barring a horrific outing by one of the QBs.

Vegas disagrees with you as well. They have the rotten fish by 3 and a over/under of 38.5. You have the Bills almost beating the O/U by themselves :)

I don't have a score prediction, but I do see us losing by a small amount. Probably by less than 7.

I'm just going by the last time the Bills & fish met at the Ralph: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2009112901/2009/REG12/dolphins@bills/recap

This year, the Bills have better coaches & better schemes than last year, so I see the Bills winning big.

  9. I know we still have a week to go, but I can't help but get excited for the start of the regular season.

My prediction for next weeks game versus the fish: Bills 34, Dolphins 24

IMO, the Bills offense will be able to put points on the board, followed by the defense getting an INT or two on Henne. Dolphins will mainly score by their run game. I expect our Run "D" to be better than last year, but not quite near as good as what it should be (just yet).

    Your thoughts, predictions...

You're being too generous with the phins. Bills 42, Fish 17.

  10. http://www.realfootball365.com/articles/bills/14939

8th ranked offense, 5th in rushing. In know it's preseason, but it's nice seeing those numbers compared to the disaster of last years preseason.

Interesting article. The big word that has been missing from the bills for a long time has been ADJUSTMENTS. Glad to see Gailey & Co making them quickly during the game. You're right, it's great to see a better preseason this year, last year was a complete cluster f@ck!!

  11. There is a tried and true method for stopping people saying you suck- stop sucking, btw the corresponding characters in that video are as following Clayton is the dirtbag from Attorney General's office, you're the Whiner and I'm Bruce Willis making fun of you.

Why don't you go down to your local grocery store, buy a box a straws, take one and suck it up!!!

  12. I always thought Peters was overrated but he's better than Green and Bell combined times 10.

    :lol::w00t:

i just dont understand how anyone could blame the Bills for what happened.

it was THE BILLS that took a chance on JP after he went undrafted.

it was THE BILLS that found a spot for him on the roster before he was ever switched to Oline.

it was THE BILLS who taught him how to play line.

it was THE BILLS who renegotiated his contract, years before it was due.

it was JP and EP who decided that none of that meant anything to them, and held the team hostage until they got what they (unfairly and undeservedly) wanted.

it was JP who showed up out of shape and not ready to play (which im sure helped cause that injury that everyone uses as an excuse).

it was JP who ADMITTED his head wasnt in the game because of "money/contract issues" (even though he was making over a million dollars a year already, and was only 2-3 years into a contract he signed)

regardless of how JP has played in Philly, how was this ever on the Bills "for letting the Peters situation go bad and trading him away"?

    :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sums up the whole Peters situation. Great post!

  13. OK Clayton is a douchbag. He looks like an alien pedophile. Trent Edwards ranking of #31 preseason is fine with me. He's shown nothing during his career and deserves to be right where he is. Who on that list is he better than? Good thing is I think Chan is working some magic with Trent and will coach him up alot more than anyone else has in his life. I think if Trent stays healthy he ends the year midpack, not the bottom. But for now that's where he deserves to be. Take off the homie glasses and put down the koolaid, you can't fault people for dogging Trent Edwards. Now it's up to him to prove people wrong, and I hope he does!

    :w00t:

My main problem with Clayton and the rest of the clowns I mentioned, is that they always bash Buffalo (I didn't mention Edwards anywhere in my post). You can call it "homie glasses", "kool-aid" or whatever.

Since you want to bring up Edwards, let's look at the problem in Buffalo. In Buffalo's 50 year history, the Bills have only drafted 2 QB's that took the Bills to the playoffs: Ferguson & Kelly (if you really want to be technical, 3 if you want to throw Reich in there). Since Kelly, let's look at the QB's the Bills drafted: Todd Collins, wasn't even given a full season then was shown the door, that's nowhere near enough time to develop a QB. Not saying Collins would have been great for us, but he's still in the league and led the Foreskins to the playoffs a few years ago. J.P. Losman, thrown in the starting lineup too quickly when Bledsoe was still playing well. Then was taken in & out of the line-up with Holcomb, plus had numerous offensive coordinators and only 1 good WR in Evans after Moulds was traded. Edwards, same thing, numerous coordinators, plus last years disaster to start the season. Do you really consider Dick Jauron a good quarterback developer? Any QB in the league would have failed miserably under the conditions the Bills were in last year.

Even though it's Preseason, but there has been many noticeable improvements on this team, and idiots like the local Buffalo media and Clayton continue to bash the Bills. I can't wait until midseason and the Bills prove these idiots all wrong. And I'll keep enjoying my kool-aid while wearing my homie-glasses.

  14. Okay, they actually didn't say they that. But I'm sure if you were to ask Chan Gailey, he'd say: "If you dog one of us, you dog all of us".

Can Buffalo seriously get some better sports reporters than the negative nancy's that report for the team? First, WGR said it was gonna be the offense that was gonna be horrible, now it's defense and special teams. Plus, the two cry babies that write for the Buffalo news never have anything good to say about the Bills (Sullivan & DiCeasre - how ever that clown spells his name). Plus, bugged-eyed Clayton, has this geek even played a sport...ever? How did this dork ever make it to TV? IMO, ESPN has no credibility anymore. I think I watched 30 seconds of their draft coverage and switched it right back to the NFL network, it looked like a male version of "The View" instead of actual draft coverage.

For WGR, the Buffalo News & Uber-Geek Clayton, this video is for you:
