  1. Likewise, armwrestling requires finger/hand/wrist/forearm strength but also core strength. It also requires incredible technique that nonprofessionals usually don't understand. There is more athleticism in armwrestling than it appears.
  2. Interesting take. But what is an athlete? Someone who's fast? Someone who's strong? Someone with incredible dexterity? Someone with good hand-eye coordination? Someone with low body fat? What makes an athlete an athlete? Are offensive linemen athletes? Are quarterbacks?
  3. Fred "it took you long enough to figure out how good I am" Jackson
  4. Not impressed. Real armwrestlers would smoke him.
  5. So without letting Wikipedia do the thinking for you...is armwrestling a sport? Do any of you watch it?
  6. eating competitions, cheerleading, spelling bees...
  7. What we NEED is to find the next Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson. Those are the kind of franchise QBs that win superbowls!
  8. Professional armwrestling, as you may have seen on ESPN...is it a real sport? Do any of you watch it?
  9. Hard to disagree with anything you said.
  10. What would Kelly look like behind this offensive line?
  11. winfield is GREAT but has hands of stone. Clements is a greedy ball-hawk that sometimes gets burned. McGee, IMO, is underrated in general because he is paid well, but the truth is he is a borderline shut-down CB. Not elite, but not far from it. Burris was solid, but as you pointed out, never quite lived up to the hype. I still felt good with Burris and Thomas Smith at CB.
  12. Disagree. Nate Odomes is overrated. He is good, but not great. I'd say he was about as good as Nate Clements. I like McGee, Jeff Burris, and Antoine Winfield more than him. I thought Burroughs was better than him until his neck injury.
  13. Henry Jones is an all-time great Buffalo Bill and never gets the props he deserves. That guy was a STUD.
  14. It's really easy to say kelly, but I fear he'd really struggle behind this offensive line. Therefore I'll say Will Wilford. Rock of a left tackle. On defense I don't think there's any choice but to take Bruce. As much as we could use a Bennett, Paup, or Spielman, Bruce is a game-changer.
  15. Offense: overpowering offensive line is the key - misdirection-based offense with counters, play actions, and lots of what might best be called 'trickery'. I never want the defense to feel comfortable. Defense: Forty-six, blitz-happy defense that dictates rather than read-react.
  16. Cottrell is horrible.
  17. Where do you guys get this stuff from? They 'rattled' him? 2-3-6 zone defense that blanketed our receivers. It's on Kelly and Marchibroda to change the gameplan and run more. They adjusted too late. Can't blame Reed for not getting open when blanketed by 6 DBs and 3 LBs though.
  18. If you want a modern-day comparison, our defense was a lot like the defenses you'll see in this Superbowl. They weren't dominant. They didn't win us games. But they seemed to make good plays at key times, and they benefitted from playing with a lead that always made the opposition's offense one-dimensional.
  19. Rice, carter, and rod tidwell all have to get in before Reed.
  20. I will when I get some time. I just took a peak to see what it was all about and noticed the rankings.
  21. No way Evans starts over Reed. You could argue Evans versus Lofton all day, but Reed was #1. As someone else mentioned I think Fred Jackson versus Kenneth Davis is a good argument.
  22. Wow, that's the epitome of oversimplification.
  23. Sean McNanie? He was way gone by then. You mean Leon Seals?
  24. I think the Pats are more hated than you guys give them credit for. It's not just an AFC East thing. The country hates the Pats. This country hates to see one team dominate...they ESPECIALLY hate to see an UNLIKABLE team (with guys like Belicheck and Brady) dominate, and they ABSOLUTELY hate to see a CHEATING team dominate. The Pats very quickly became the most hated team of the past decade, stealing that title right out from under the Cowboys' feet.
  25. It was obviously a generic joke, but even if you want to read into it, he would've been referring to that Denver D that he lit up.
