  1. I had wondered about Levi's status and why he was considered to be so valuable. He was drafted in the seventh round, if he had a lot of upside value, someone would have jumped on him much earlier in the process. Outside of Tom Brady, how many quarterbacks drafted in the sixth round or later have gone on to demonstrate great value at the quarterback slot. The Bills took a flyer on guy with a strong arm and it seems it didn't work out.

  2. Bulldog solo with Sully at 5. Defense and special teams will doom us. Wants us to lose for #1 pick and QB in draft. So...because it's preseason nothing the Bills are doing on offense matters, but D and ST are proven as horrible.

If brains were explosives these two wouldn't have enough charge between them to blow their nose.

  3. Chicago gets it right only in terms of its location, its the true gate way to the west. It is a city that took advantage, and rightfully so, of its geological location in conjuction with the great mining and grain industries of the Central/Northern Midwest.

Companies such as Agrium and 3M ship vast amounts of resources through the area.

Buffalo no longer has that. You want to know what the Buffalo/Niagara region has? It has a great energy infrastructure, including but not limited to feedstock capacities for some green energy and a transmission infrastructure that hits 5 different ISO markets directly.

It has Niagara Falls itself, 12 million visitors annually pre-economic downturn, 8 million post-economic downturn.

It has vast Limestone and Dolimite reserves. It has access to not only 2 of the 5 great lakes, but also a vast waterway connecting the Hudson River.

It has the 4th ranked recreational hunting and fishing area's in the country (according to the JAN. 2009 Field & Stream list).

Some of the NorthEasts vast hardwood forest reserves and natural bueaty. The Marcellus Shale Natural Gas Reserves.

A 1.5 hour drive to Canada's largest city.

Some of the most spectacular winter's without the -40 degree F. temps the nation knows (ever been to Neb. or Wyo. in Jan.)

This area actually has a great deal to offer in Dairy production, apple and grape production and so on.

No, the reason this area has failed to capatilize is really simple. FAILURE OF VISION AND FAILURE TO PROPERLY IMPLEMENT THAT VISION SIMPLY DUE TO POLITICS.

    It really is that simple.

PromoTheRobot is dead on correct, government is destroying this region, plain and simply put.

Pension plans, hired government workers, massive spending to secure voting blocks, it is the exact opposite of the fore fathers who conceived this nation were attempting to give us........the future generations. And do you know the really sad thing is about all of this.................

WE HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT OURSELVES, AS CITIZENS FOR ALLOWING THIS TRAVISTY NOT ONLY TO EXIST, BUT TO ALLOW TO KEEP ON EXISTING.

    Sad, very sad.

But once again, I digress, the Bills will leave inside of 10 years, take that to the bank.

Its a business, and I would fully understand when they do relocate. It may indeed be a sad day for WNY, but look at the other side of this, it will be a happy day for some population center who is on the up swing.

CHANGE IS INEVITABLE, Buffalo just happens to be a place where we will be alive as we watch it in its death throws from upper mid size to lower mid size city.

If Government was solely responsible for destroying the region, Canada and Toronto would be right there with Buffalo. High taxes, government run health care etc, but when you look at Toronto and the surrounding region they seem to be doing fine and they even seem to like their health care.

I have lived around the country and the biggest problem with all of Western NY, is the lack of vision for the future. The heavy industry has dried up and instead of looking for new businesses, Buffalo seems to sit around waiting for a savior to come in. The ones who have, have been snake oil salesman, such as John Rigas.

Set aside the negativity and reluctance to do anything, find your strength and move forward. I live in Rochester and watched the fast ferry fiasco and decided it was time to get up and say something, I did and my advice is to get out and go to some community meetings, go to whatever political party suits fancy, get involved. Get involved if you don't like what is happening, it will be frustrating as hell but it is the only way to make a real difference.

  4. The water front stadium idea isn't new. Back in the day the water front was mainly industry.

The redevelopment of the water front has only taken shape in the last 35 years or so as an idea into what has been implemented so far.

But, you hang that idea up. As sad a day as it will be I think you and many other fans need to come to the realization that the Bills will not be in Buffalo beyond at the most, a decade.

This area continues to shrink in population, there are much larger markets out there. The NFL hay day in Buffalo is over I'm afraid. The writing is on the wall and no politician, no local businessman is going to change this.

So, to sum it up, why even consider a water front stadium when the team won't be here to play in it anyways.

I read the naysayers on a new stadium in Buffalo and I am always frustrated. Buffalo, has become a town that seems to be too focused on its past and concluded that it can do nothing about its future. The future of Buffalo is in its people, in a city with such great people, the only draw back I see is the fatalism of the residents. Instead of lamenting what has been lost, maybe Buffalo should look at the future and take charge of it, rather than just let it happen.

Buffalo specifically, and the region in general have tremendous assets and should be looking at ways to use the lake, the river, hell even the weather to build a Buffalo back into a vibrant city. Also, don't forget the tremendous asset in UB and other schools in the vicinity. Cold weather cities can be great places, think not about the past, but how to make the future better.

  5. My recollection of Flutie was he was done as soon as the rest of the NFL had the book on him. Defenders stopped biting on his "pixie hop" move when he passed and it was all over.

    PTR

As I recall, Flutie's arm was dead by the 10th game of the season. Passes with no zip and sailing, ask Thurman how those type of Flutie passes were for the receivers.

  6. CJ Spiller is going to be the biggest match-up problem in the NFL next year, and here are the two reasons why.

    1. CJ has a has a very unique COMBINATION of talents

-Speed, quickness, vision, and patience to run the ball

-Deep speed, short area quickness, good hands, and intellegence to be a receiver

    2. Chan Gailey has the creativity and the balls to use Spiller in the best and most unconventional ways

-The Bills offense is going to be different than every other offense in the NFL. There is going to be a lot of motion that is going to cause confusion in defenses. And if defenses make one wrong step, guys like CJ Spiller and Roscoe Parrish are going to take it the distance.

-Some of the best offenses in the NFL are the different offenses. Remember the K-Gun? One of the reasons that was so successful is because the Bills were the only team in the NFL that was fully committed to it. Similarly, the Dolphins are the best at the Wildcat because they are the most heavily committed to it.

In summary, the Bills didn't just draft a runningback/wr. They drafted a player that is going to help them launch a new style of offense that I believe will be very successful.

I would agree except for the offensive line. The K-gun had an outstanding offensive line that gave the skill players time to do their jobs. Unless I see a better offensive line this year, I think the Bills will still have offensive problems.

  7. I'm sure we all have opinions on various politicians. I support anyone who upholds the constitution. Upholding the Constitution to me matters more than any party a politician belongs too. And yes Jackson is a good speaker.

I hate politics. I don't like talking about it. But i can respect it when a man can orate.

I'm not in any way advocating any party. Just as long as the Constitution is always upheld and never messed with.

And i think it's been messed with by more than one party.

Ok back to football. Sorry about that.

    Amen to that.

  8. Oh no an NFL player smoked some weed. My goodness stop the presses there is a scoop to be had here. Not.

I always find myself bemused at all the self-righteous who criticize NFL players for smoking weed then they sit down and polish of a case of Labatts. Get over it, nothing to see here.

  9. I think you're right Promo, if the Bills were to sign him it would be a desperate move. But since its the all knowing Jets, its a brilliant move by an organization that with its structure can turn this young man around.

I swear ESPN is getting as bad as MSNBC.

Or Fox News depending upon your point of view.

  10. its time for bills fans to either get a new song parody or just drop the concept all together, that song makes me wanna "puke" (sung to the tune of shout). really its a terrible "oldie now", besides it has embodied 25 years of failure for the bills, while celebrating every field goal........worst song ever :censored:

How about if you stay home from the games and turn down the sound on your TV and those of us who like it can continue to enjoy it.

  11. The Bills need a quarterback and pick a runing back. What a crock...

Tebow is then picked by Denver.

After 50 years (minus the Kelly era) of pure bull ****...maybe it's time.

I know one thing for sure, Denver will never play a single game in Toronto...unless it's against the Toronto Bills.

Maybe it's time for you suckers to find something else to do on Sundays.

    Me, I'll be watching Denver.

Go ahead...take a swipe or two...I don't give a damn...but for sure...no team can lose like the Buffalo Bills and now the Sabres.

    See Ya

  12. To start off with let me express my new hated interest for ESPN. I do not think I have EVER seen as an incompetent bunch of people as far as sporting event coverage. There have been more commercials then player coverage. The Bills 1st round pick was barely covered. There was no footage or stats on the 2rd or 3rd round picks. Not just Buffalo is being shoved aside, but a lot of teams. If this is what paying for cable tv does they can keep it. We pay them to watch what they program and companies give them money to show their adds and everbody loses but the TV networks. Way to go Goddell (or however it is spelled) on promoting your product. Now as far as the Bills brain trust is concerned, I like what I see so far. Not what I expected; but, I do llike where they are going. I just hope somewhere they bring in a couple of decent OL who can compete and push. I am for keeping all 3 RB's as well as all 3 QB's. I might like to see them add perhaps Bruce Campbell and Zac Robinson. So to whatever Bills fans are already crying, go buy you some tissue, s**t paper might do the job (if you get that) or something else to ball your ardened hearts into. As far as ESPN and all the commercials and non-coverage, piss on you and one hell of a night.

NFL Network Coverage was pretty good. I dropped cable and moved to satellite to get the NFL Network and I am pleased that I did.

  13. !@$#%!@%!^@#$@#^!@#%@#$%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you kidding me. Who is going to block for him? And great job killing any kind of trade value for Lynch. Now everyone knows we have to get rid of him.

New leadership, same results. F*ck this F*cking team.

The Bills were having a chat during the draft with Chris Brown, my comment on the Spiller pick never made it up there, so I will post it here.

Spiller may be a great running back, reciever, but when the QB is on his ass before he can get the ball off or the runner is stuffed in the backfield than the reality of a bad offensive line hits home again. The line has been below average since Wolford left and it will not improve this year with out some serious help.

  14. Well there goes those dreams. Now what do we do when Clausen is there at 9?

I would hope that we draft the best left tackle available. No sense in getting a quarterback and spend a couple of years watching him get his ass beat and leave football a broken man. I will pass on having Shane Falco early in his career.

  15. Living in Rochester, I can't tell you how disappointed I have been in the demise of the local paper. There is very little local news any more and the sports page has deteriorated to the point where it is not worth the cost. I a

lways thought Sal was a complainer and found nothing but fault with the Bills. Leo was more balanced but he has moved on to the outdoor beat.

The rest of the paper completely lacks any in depth coverage of most topics, and since they

moved the business page from the sports section, my GF and I can't divide up the paper in the morning. She wants local and living, I want the front sections sports and business. Can't do that with the changes. We let our subscription go to just Sunday's for the ads and noticed Tops is no longer putting an ad in the sunday paper, but using direct mail here in Rochester.
