  1. I like Maher and I used to like Miller. However, Miller became very partisan because of OJ and 9/11 and hasn't looked back. I am neither a liberal or conservative but rather a pragmatist. You have to look at each issue and decide and then find the person closest to you. If you blindly follow one side, which Miller is wont to do, then I have little respect for you.

  2. I am leary of Luck, because he is playing in a pro set offense in college. His current coach Jim Harbaugh was a decent NFL quarterback when well coached, and I think he is coaching Luck well. That can magnify ability and minimize real skills in the college game. Also, the last quarterback from Stanford that was supposed to be great is nursing injuries in Jacksonville. What was his name, came highly recommended by a Hall of Fame NFL coach.

  3. Mikey is quite the little drama queen isn't he.

    I agree with Buftex.

All these guys who are taking shots at Shanahan are whistling past the graveyard. "I'm happy with Buddy and Chan", "what have they done in DC with Shanny and Allen?". And the predictable (and misinformed) notion that Shanahan only won SBs because of Elway. The truth is that he lost a couple with Elway in his prime. Elway only won a SB (or 2) when Shanny brought in a decent running back at the tail end of Elways career.

Shanahan isn't Andy Reid, who seems to be unable to confront players (or others) with character flaws detrimental to the team. Players are coming out of the woodwork now to second Shanny's assessment of McNabb's work habits.

Anyone who disagrees with his handling of Haynesworth would never survive as any kind of manager of employees. He is what he is--a no nonsense ball buster with a bit of an ego. Gailey is none of those.

I do believe Dan Reeves was coaching during Elway's previous SB losses.

  4. Actually, after watching the LBs in today's game, I'm more convinced than ever that Poz is a good player surrounded by a sea of garbage. He's an excellent pursuer, doesn't make stupid errors, and spends a ton of time covering up other people's mistakes (of which there are way too many). He'd be starting for most teams in the league, including the Jets (in a 3-4 set).

I would agree on Poz, on Kelsay whoa, who decided to give him that much money? He sucked today, I saw him over pursue out of plays and on one Tomlinson run, get completely deked out of the play. He stinks, and so do the folks who decided to pay him big bucks.

  5. That's the guy you want as the face of your franchise? My god, what a disgrace. "We're excited!" "I'm not sure that we got C.J. going well enough."

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I've watched Trent Edwards very closely during his time in Buffalo. You can see it in his eyes, you can read it in his body language. You can see it before the games on the sidelines just WATCHING him. Trent Edwards doesn't give a damn about winning or losing. He is a flat-lined, this-is-my-job kind of person who cares about himself first, last, and always. There is absolutely no putting the team first with this guy. Just look at how he'll turtle up at the end of games and won't even TRY to throw the ball down field knowing that is the only chance (slim, granted) of victory. He just wants to preserve himself, his stats, and his image.

How many more chances do we have to give this guy before he is finally out of his "one more chance"?

And don't give me this "the offensive line stinks" bullcrap. There are plenty of quarterbacks who play behind bad offensive lines and don't look HUMILIATINGLY awful. Heck, Jay Cutler has maybe a worse o-line in Chicago, but at least he throws the ball down the field.

You realize that Trent Edwards has never had a single 300-yard passing performance, right? It's a joke. Give me a guy who will at least TRY, over this same tired-ass scared checkdown turtle humiliating baby bull ****. It's a man's game. Give me someone who isn't afraid to fail, and maybe, just maybe we'll get this franchise out of the gutter.

Well the offensive line does stink and that has been a problem for a long time in Buffalo. The Trent Edwards I saw on Sunday was not the one I used to watch when he deposed JP from his job. Maybe too many hits on the head and he is in fear, I don't know. Too many recievers not open, not sure. Reading comments on the game yesterday, none of the receivers seemed to be getting any separation. When he had open guys he hit them. He did run and didn't slide. There is something to be said for his toughness. Don't quite know what to make of him anymore, other than something is wrong. I think we are living the result of bad personnel decisions over many years.
