What you don’t love to continually talk about a guy who’s no longer here and the Bills found a suitable replacement? If this thread sticks around all year I think this will outrank the Skelton for Mario thread for worst of all time.

Nope. You must not have heard of Ryan Fitzpatrick and his at least 4 yearly threads. He had two this year and he had already retired.

  2. Was hoping the media's hype of this tropical storm was going to lead to people dumping their tickets. Ophelia already passed over us in SE Virginia and if we hadn't gotten emergency alerts on phones Friday, we would have just assumed it was a very rainy day today. I have no doubt it will be rainy in MD, but it won't be the monster the Weather Channel was hoping it would be.

The resale market for tickets are insane. You can poo poo it. You can debate the causes, but it's a fact. Kudos to whoever bought the $1500 tickets behind the visiting bench. Was sure they'd be the last to go. It's mind blowing that people can afford that in this economy. But then again, I am confounded how one can order Door Dash when the cost of food has never been higher.

Why is a beer $12-14 at an NFL game? Or a concert...

For supposedly smart people, they're surprisingly ignorant or willfully ignoring the prime example of the Falcons lowering concession prices and enjoying more profits. The volume of people purchasing went up 50% more than making up the difference. People spent time they would otherwise be sitting in their seat pregame/halftime/postgame at concessions or using their leftover food budget on souvenirs. They even had more sales of food AFTER the game. No one is hitting up the in-stadium Nova for a $15 slice to enjoy on the way home.

  4. My first NFL game all thanks to scalpers needing to unload tickets. Started my streak of wins when I'm in attendance. 8-0! Trying to get to the Commanders game to continue the streak.

Time has diminished just how great of a feat this was. My best friend was a Raiders fan so I was well aware of their roster. Bo Jackson was injured but they still had Marcus Allen, Willie Gault, Tim Brown, Greg Townsend, and Howie Long.

The memories I have of the game are doing the wave, mocking their QB with a "Schroeder" chant that seemed to make him throw more interceptions, and thinking the pre-Jumbotron scoreboard was amazing. Especially during the Mighty Taco commericals.

I don't care what other goofy fan bases do on other message boards.  2BD takes up more then enough of my time.

You don't have to, but it's good for the soul. You'll find that other fanbases (Bears and Raiders I've seen recently) are marinating in caustic cynicism that the naysayers on this board could only dream of attaining the recipe for. It actually makes our weekly fire McD threads seem classy.

  6. Glab messed up. The rule in any media is to treat every mic like it's hot. She will face zero consequences for it. She is a female in a male dominated field. She would have to fire herself. Plus, management feels the apology was enough or she would have an empty office by now. Not happy with it, or her apology (which could have been spun better).

People show you who they are. You can either believe them when they show you, or you buy what they are trying to sell you on. Diggs wants people to think he's a strong leader who demands excellence from his teammates. His actions have shown that he will pretend a problem doesn't exist for an entire offseason and then have a heated exchange with McDermott first day of minicamp. He will claim to want to keep things in house, but cryptically live tweet his every emotion. He says he wants to retire here, but is fine with his brother constantly chirping on social media about a trade (that isn't feasible for either team). He claims to be an up front person who treats people with respect but instead of addressing an issue with a reporter directly, waits a day to tell the internet about how damaged his feelings are.

Diggs is a great talent. You have to walk on eggshells to keep him happy. That is what we will deal with. Just like how Josh will have a Fitzmagic turnover game every now and then. As long as the pros outweigh the cons, they're not going anywhere.

  7. Over the years, I've heard Joe Marino from Locked on Bills reference Josh Allen's loose training regimen and unhealthy eating habits. He's said something to the effect of "it's fine when he's young and winning, but it could come back to haunt him later on." It's safe to say that Josh needs a new offseason training regimen. After an offseason of selling his name and likeness to anyone who would buy, it is supremely disappointing to see him soil his bedclothes on national television. He did not perform like someone who was dialed in to a week of game prep, much less an offseason of working on his shortcomings like, oh I don't know, fumbling the ball and throwing to opposing players.

This is getting old. At a certain point "it's my fault," after being said repeatedly means less and less.

I don't demand that he give up his life/marriage/carbs/nightshades like Tom Brady. I'd just appreciate at least equal effort as his marketing team.

Allen is a tremendous disappointment.  I guess we'll have to crank up the Excuse Generator and establish some kind of down year narrative. I'll start:

It's really hard to tell the Jets players and Bills players apart!

New girlfriend keeps him up late

    Elbow still hurt

    Feel free to add

Even more Delayed Onset Emotional Exhaustion from last year. Didn't quite get it all out. That's been the crutch all offseason. Let's ride that pony into the ground.
