Watching Green Bay's offense, it feels like they are running the plays against air.
Like they only care about executing the play exactly right. No matter what the actual defenders are actually doing.
We'll take our lumps early in the season, but lets make sure we have our timing down on every play.
I bet we wont see jordan Love actually audible a single time. Its like they dont care too much about what the D is doing or going to do.

So are you saying Tua got good on his own and it just so happened to coincide with McDaniels and Hill getting there? That would be a strange coincidence don't you think?
tua has always been good . . . enough.
But just not good enough to run a pro offense. No arm.
So McDaniels created an offense for a qb who has no arm. Get the ball to super fast guys on short throws, preferably on quick reads.
And its the "reads" part that i think our boy Fields has not shown he is capable of.

He is what we were all told Star Lotuleli was supposed to be.
not really, from what i remember
Star was supposed to be Ted Washington
Jones is a little closer to Sam Adams. (different body though, obviously)

William of Occam. It takes some of us (ie: me) longer to learn. Trying too hard to give Edmunds the benefit of the doubt.

I laughed when the excuses for Edmunds not making any plays was that “he had too much on his plate/it’s not his job/he doesn’t play the same position as Milano, doesn’t have the same freedom to roam.” No, he just wasn’t a playmaker. Bernard undoubtedly has a nose for the football and is making the plays our last LB could not.
and doesnt it feel like, in some ways, he decided not to be a playmaker?
I mean, that's part of the frustration. We keep thinking of all the things Tremaine could be doing. If only . . . .
"dude. . . . You were standing RIGHT THERE! . . . wtf Tremaine?"
It seemed like he had a limit to how much injury risk he was going to take. Like he had some higher responsibility (to family?) to not risk a second contract. -

Nah.
This may be the case if Elam was backing Benford up.
But he can’t even get a jersey.

somethin just occured to me. Watching Benford play.
Maybe he is just . . . better than Elam.
Maybe Elam is pretty good in practice. Maybe there's nothing wrong with Elam.
Maybe Benford is just that good.

this will be the most telling test. Because if not, McBeane must just view Elam as emergency depth only.

there might be a market for Elam.
one one hand, i wonder if Beane's phone has been ringing at all. I heard on the radio that the Patriots top 3 corners are out.
OTOH, if Dallas hasnt called, and now that JC Jackson might be available, maybe we swap with the Chargres.
edit: except JC's contract is probably too mucho

What are the Ravens doing? Practicing at construction sites? 6 foot/ankle/knee injuries.
Have the Ravens' players just decided "well shtt. if Lamar cant tough it out during playoff time, why the hell should i tough it out in week 3?"
Notsaying Lamar was faking.Players know. The Raven's "leader" is not "fearless"
(disclosure: I am anti-Lamar anyway, so this is probably just me piling on)

- TORRENCE - Another fine game for the rook.. he's a gem. He was beaten by bull rush once and got holding call on that play I believe. But other than that excellent. . . .

q3- Torrence beaten by bull rush.. holds
I really like Torrence. Questions about this bull rush loss.
Was he bull-rushed more than once, and it only worked one time?
I'm wondering of DCs are gonna see this and start giving him a steady diet of bull-rush.
Seems like for somebody as big as him to get bull-rushed and lose, its technique. So why did he fail, did he fix it, and do you think he can?
(and seriously, thank you so much for these)

I think it is because the Bills having saying making players the best they can be and if they get there and discover they cannot be improved they lose heart and retire.
yeah, but isnt there always a sucker (team) out there who would keep giving you free money until all 32 finally said "no?" Why not just loaf and get cut? then sign on elsewhere for a few more weeks of feathering his retirement nest.
which suggests his agent told him that the Bills are 32 /32.

Probably doesn't see a path forward here with the way Bernard has been playing . . .
i suspect it might also be that whatever McBeane told him he needed to do (to improve himself) in order to pass Bernard, Kirksey just decided he didnt have it in himself to do all that, at this point in his career.
Because otherwise, he might have (and he might have behind the scenes) asked to be cut or traded so he could catch on somewhere else.

they just discussed this on Dan Patrick (thursday 1050am eastern)
-noted that the bears have "scrubbed" him from the website
-noted that the Bears' one-sentence statement didnt include any of the usual "we wish him well, hope for speedy recovery, he is welcome back anytime, thank you for your service."
concluded that the Bears are distancing themselves from the person and the situation. Shutting the book on the chapter firmly.

it could be that he (allegedly) was providing steroids, etc., to the players.
If not, and since DV is not a federal crime, that doesnt leave much else. Beyond what has been mentioned here already.
And I would be shocked if Tillman would risk his job.
And "raid" is being disuputed. doesnt mean the FBI didnt call ahead and arrange a peaceable execution of a warrant.

Josh Allen wakes up from a dream. A dream where he learned that death by 1,000 cuts is still death. And its more violent, even
Then he woke up and chose That violence.

The Dolphins have two #1 WRs. That’s why they are open all the time. This gives the OC extreme flexibility in play calling.
The one thing Miami did right was giving their
QBOffense every resource to succeed.minor fix
If tua wasnt accurate, he'd be gone by now. The GM gave McDaniels the 2 things his offense requires. Super fast receiver(s) and an accurate QB.

it could just be that his ceiling is Brett favre.
Doesnt love the film study part. Extreme and justified arm arrogance. We will be in it every game.
But its gonna be a rolller coaster. Maybe we are waiting for somethign to smooth out, that is currently as smooth as it will ever be.
and its 10 million times better than the drought era. We have a legit top NFL QB. We have a legit shot every game. But we, as fans, need to get used to it.

Just as a reminder we've played one game. Monday night Josh was bad but can we give him a few more games please.
as a reminder, Josh himself said basically "same shtt, different day."
seems JA17 is acknowledging, himself, that it was more than just a single, one-off, bad day. He is saying the same shtt from last season is still not fixed.
And if there is something that was not fixed last season, and not yet fixed during an entire off-season, and it looked that bad during game 1, then you need to offer a little more reason why just giving him "a few more games please" is going to see everything get fixed.

okay, but what is up with Von's facial grooming?
it looks like he lets one 5-year-old do the left side and a 7-year-old do the right side.
kinda like when your kids buy you an ugly necktie for father's day. Not only do you have to wear it, but you end up being proud to wear it.
And 14 has been my favorite Bill since the day we signed him, JA17 included. Mostly because you cant be THAT good at your job without being capable of being that good at other things. like leadership. And fwiw, I always believed Diggs in the Diggs vs. Josh drama. Diggs is not stupid.

I didn’t want to believe the window was closed but it is.
Josh had his worst game as a pro and when he needed other areas to pick it up they didn’t.if the window was ever open, i dont think this loss changes that. Josh singlehandedly torpedoed that game. Sam Howell wins that game. Baker Mayfield even
The other areas never had a chance to pick it up (except maybe punt coverage. Though i did see Siran Neal make an elite play on special teams)
the problem is Josh. But is it fixable?

I feel like we just got disqualified. Ineligible. Not looking like that.
(not to be conspiracy guy, but) dont expect the NFL to help that get to the superbowl this year.

I strongly disagree
I think Love looks poised. Unrattled. And focused. He is never watching the rush. Its like he has command of the offense.
But it feels like they are running only the plain vanilla plays.
