  1. Check your history books Frank and you'll see that in superbowl twenty-five and many others, the best team doesn't always win. and/or Your team chose not to play the best football they could have played in the biggest, most watched sporting event of the year.
  2. It is not a perfect blend of opposites because I really like Pettine as our DC but the reality is that if the guy is as good as we need him or want him to be, he will only be here two a year or two at the most. Our other coaches have very little if any successful coaching experience in the NFL including our head coach and the Browns have two very experienced coordinators with a history of success as coordinators. Our brand new approach in going with fresh ideas and young gun assistants along with our offense coordinator may work for us as our hope that fresh ideas will work against the old regime style that the Browns employed. There are certainly more variables than coaching. The Patriots have been among the worst defenses in the NFL the past two or three years and they have dominated with a great quarterback so talent can offset poor coaching sometimes, but it will be interesting to see where both teams are two years from now.
  3. It should/could be pointed out that over the last four years or so, the Pats have had one of the poorer defenses in the league and have been very difficult to beat because they have a great quarterback in Tom Brady. Coaching has much to do with the success of a team but so does a qb.
  4. How many other teams would want to take him. Its a huge gamble but I would let him go and then sign him the next day if you can.
  5. Arm strength is definitely a question and he missed some open receivers this year, but does anyone who thinks he was the reason we lost the games we did have any idea how terrible our defense was in the entire history of our organization and the league. I am not saying that we should not let him go because we could do a lot with three million dollars and Levitre resigned, but that seems like a big gamble with Thigpen in the bullpen. We lost games because of our defense. Fitz didn't help his cause, but an average defense gets us at 8 and 8.
  6. On more than one occasion this season, Kyle Williams noted that some players in the locker room weren't giving their all and were not aware of what it took to play in the NFL. It may be too easy to assume that it was Williams even with the hand injury but it may have been more than that. I would hope that someone would allow some access with Marrone and Kyle Williams to get a feel for what the strengths, mentally, might be.
  7. Does anyone think there should be a rule that prohibits teams from talking to potential coaches until after the superbowl. If we really wanted a guy like McCoy, for example, the hiring of him is delayed along with the coordinators and assistant coaches. Its not too off base in the way it is done today, but it just seems like a pretty easy fix.
  8. Firing Chan and the entire staff is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. There are many bad things that can be said about Chan including the Jackson/Spiller craziness, time management issues and the overall record; but our situation is not conducive to bring in a new guy that is going to have to hire an entirely new staff and start over. If Wilson gets the interceptions, Spiller doesn't fumble against NE. The Bills are not that far away and I am afraid that our place in line of the teams who will be hiring will be at the end. In other words, our get won't be as good as what we had.
  9. The leaders are a large part of the problem. Wilson dropped two crucial interceptions which would have won us games. Fitzpatrick and the love that he has for Jackson, and I like Jackson, when Spiller is obviously better; has created a split. Kelsay has been hurt. Kyle Williams hasn't been great although he isn't bad. Stevie drops passes and has had some trouble holding onto the ball and has let his frustrations show. Our leadership doesn't lead.
  10. We heard all week that the Bills wanted to play with everything that they had to keep their job. Eric Wood came back early to prove who much he wanted the coach and the regime to stay and we still got the effort we got. False starts, turnovers, overall poor focus. I am not supporting Gailey in this post, but the truth is that the players play and the effort has not been there the past two weeks and with blowout losses to NE and SF, the mental weakness is pathetic. Eric Wood came out last week and spoke his mind about a terrible home environment which took some guts. I want to hear him, Kyle Williams, or anyone give some names to the media.
  11. Greed is a good thing. It wakes you up for work. It moves you to better yourself and your kids. The NFL is the great product it is because of greed. If this is your real thoughts and feelings, you need to see more of the world.
  12. If you really hate the Bills game in Toronto, you don't have a realistic understanding of how small of a market Buffalo really is and you really don't understand how the NFL works. Grow up and quit your whining. This is the way it is and it has to be.
  13. The runs he makes, the overall speed and quickness, and the anxiety he brings to defensive coordinators makes him easily one of the scariest backs in all of football. I like Chan but to imply that he gets tired or that it is just his time off and Fred's time on is foolish and insulting to me as a fan. This is not to say that Fred can't be the leader he is, but we are talking about a player that can take it the distance any time. The post game comments were pathetic. Sullivan crushed him and for the first time in as long as I can remember, the other reporters rode Sullivan and didn't let Gailey off the hook. There were no answers regarding seven touches because there really are no answers for that.
