I was in the same boat, as far as growing up a (diehard) wrestling fan, but stopping around 2003.
My re-entry into wrestling was more recent. Probably 2019 or so. I started out by subscribing to WWE Network and doing a chronological "re-watch" of 90s WWF and WCW. It reminded me how much I used to love it, but I just could NOT get into the modern WWE product at all. I was always into the WRESTLING aspect of pro wrestling, and modern WWE did absolutely nothing for me in that regard.
Then I started hearing about a guy named Kenny Omega and what he was doing over in Japan against Jericho. Watched a few matches and loved it. When I heard he was starting a promotion in the States, I had to check it out. I immediately loved the in-ring product, many of the new wrestlers I learned about, and things like win-loss record for each wrestler being displayed, rankings that determined title contenders, etc.. It made the product feel more like a legitimate sport, even though of course we all know it's not. Then they got a big TV deal, good production values, and brought in Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross, and I was hooked. It has brought me fully back into the fold of pro wrestling, and I'm so thankful for it.
The current AEW roster is one of the most stacked I've ever seen, particularly with the recent NJPW signings.
Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson, Hangman Page, Adam Cole, MJF, Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, Switchblade Jay White, Jon Moxley, FTR, Young Bucks, Takeshita, Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, Eddie Kingston, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, Orange Cassidy, Claudio Castagnoli, Miro, etc, etc...
Just so, so much elite wrestling talent right now. I'd love for them to hire some old WWE creative hands to improve the storytelling aspects, but...nothing matches their in-ring product, IMO. I love it.Have pretty much the same story bringing me into AEW as you. A few of the big names on your list are currently our and injured, (Omega, MJF, Cole), which is really hurting them at the moment but even so the roster is still pretty remarkable.
They just have really been struggling in the story department lately. Hopefully they can turn it around soon. WWE is really hot right now and it would be great for everyone to have some competition like the old "Monday Night Wars" days.
I am interested in checking out this past mania even though I haven't watched WWE in a while. From the sounds of it the show was pretty good.

This is not the opening game which will be KC v someone. This is the 2nd game the next night which the NFL is trying to market by the peacock crap again. Lucky for me I could care less and will be at a concert outdoors ignoring their BS again
21 minutes ago, Gregg said:I think they meant the Eagles opener which will be played Friday Sept 6th in Brazil. The league is deciding if it will be the Packers or Browns as the opponent. The Chiefs play Thursday Sept 5th.
That KC would host on TNF makes sense as it is usually the case, but this article makes it sound like it is the NFL Season opener which is confusing:

So this article mentions how this will be the first Friday season opener since 1970.
If this article is accurate then it sounds safe to assume that there will be no traditional TNF game at home for the Superbowl champ to start the year.
I wonder if this is the start of a new international game season kickoff?
Or maybe they just need to wait and see what Taylor wants. 😁😈

Does it really? Is it just PC?
It is on Xbox Gamepass right now as well.
No cross platform yet. The downside of xbox though is no dedicated servers so if you want to work cooperatively on a world whomever is hosting will have to be online for you to play in it.

Anyone jumped into Palworld yet?
I have lot of hours into it over the last few weeks. It lives up to the hype.

I prefer the Doobie Brothers without him.

There is a fair amount of fan generated Etsy crafts out there, as well as officially licensed merchandise.

Went to see it on my birthday in 1983. It was in 3D.
I think I originally saw it on HBO at my Grandma's a few years after that.
This topic inspired to try and dig up some of these old movies. Someone mentioned Motel Hell which I remember seeing at the drive-in too as the second film to I think one of the Friday the 13th movies.
I was able to find Spacehunter to download over the weekend. We will see if it holds up,

I assume that number from the MIA/KC is the total viewership.
I wonder how much of that 23 million is from the local market OTA?
Seeing those separated would be the more interesting number.

Did Patty forget that even if that TD had counted the Bills still would have had over a minute left in the game with 3 timeouts to take back the lead?

Doesn't seem like it.
Using this: https://www.espn.com/nfl/playoffs/machine
I can't get the Bills into a spot after just this weeks results. With a win this week regardless of who I choose for the results of the rest of the games for week 14 they don't move into the top 7.

I know it makes your soul dirty....
but don't we all basically have to root for the Pats*** tonight?

Posted this in the Fields thread but it is probably more appropriate in this ticket thread.
My cousin lives in Chicago.
Last weekend he left two tickets to a Bears game on his dashboard after parking downtown but later when he got back he noticed someone had broken into his car and left him two more.

The worst part about them is that these days there doesn't seem to be a lot of discussion on topics that veer outside of the "ESPN Accepted Opinion", so at least half of the time you get the same opinion parroted by 5 different panel members or people arguing over something they appear to actually agree on.

Funny topic for me to come across as my wife has been on a "Fall Movie" kick the last couple of weeks.
So far we have watched Mystic Pizza and School Ties.
Not sure if Mystic Pizza fully qualifies but School Ties was definitely a fall movie.

Won't complain about seeing the Eagles smack around the Pats*** but it seems like Mia@LAC would have been the much better game to showcase nationally for CBS in their late slot.
I know, markets and what-not, but just based on competition alone you'd think that game would get a strong consideration. Could play heavily into potential tie breaking scenarios down the line.

Thank for starting this. Not the biggest college football fan (enjoy it but more of a nfl guy), I like Oregon State over wins along with Texas Tech.
What does the $75k the other way get you?
Assuming the odds are +25000 the other way it would be $18,750,000.
For anyone that is interested in the math on the odds lines they work like this.
If the odds are + the formula for what you would win is x/100 * $Bet
so: 25000 / 100 * $75,000 = $18,750,000
If the odds are - the formula for calculating winnings is 100/x * $Bet
so: 100 / 25000 * $75,000 = $300
Just to assist anyone still on the fence about becoming a part of the degenerate gamblers club with the rest of us. 😀😈

If this veteran team can’t hold it together to start the season because Von is out they don’t deserve to be in the playoffs imo
The games are important but they’ve invested as heavy if not heavier than anyone else in the league on the D line over the years. They should be able to play at a high enough level
Agreed, and if they can hold the line they will be all the better with a fresh Von coming from the reserves.
Just a little concerned based on the pass rush being 💩 after Thanksgiving last year.
Hopefully the addition of Floyd helps to make the difference this time around.

Smart move.
Re-injury of ACLs is a real risk for players that rush back too quickly.
Protect Von from himself. We need him November, December, and January (and hopefully February), not September and October.Just now, Rc2catch said:I think it’s the best move. Need him in December and January a lot more than September.
I get the sentiment but wins in September and October count too and saving someone for the playoffs won't matter much if they don't even qualify.
Hopefully it works out and the DEs can hold down the fort until he is ready to go but just assuming that will be the case is also risky.

437 but I read some posts here before playing so I shot for more obscure answers like Bledsoe for 3000+ instead of the obvious Josh or Pat Williams for Bills/Vikings instead of Diggs.
Hostetler for the Raiders was my most obscure with .8%.
