  1. I remember being righteously psyched when the Bills used the #1 overall pick to take the best LB in the draft (ta-da) Tom Cousineau. My WTF???? pick has to be Erik Flowers. Trivia question to try on your bar buddies: In the NFL draft following the last college football ever coached by Woody Hayes, the Bills used their two first round picks to select players who were on opposing teams in that game. Who were they? Ans: Cousineau and Jerry Butler
  2. One factor I haven't seen mentioned is that Lynch is in his 4th year. Yes he's young for a 4th year player, but RB's typically don't have long careers. So trading a former 1st rounder who is at the top of, or on the down side of a typical career arc, for a 4th round pick plus an additional pick seems about right. Now factor in things such as ML being one party away from a full year suspension, his lack of maturity/professionalism,his desire to be elsewhere, depth at the position, and the decrease in value of RBs in a pass oriented league, and it looks like they got a reasonable return.
  3. His last few years in Green Bay, he jerked them around by waffling on whether he was going to play another season or not. They are sitting there, not knowing whther they should gear their offensive scheme, and personnel, around an aging veteran star, or a potentially talented kid. Last year, the Pack had enough said Buh - Bye, plugged in the kid, and moved on. Now the will he or wont he show in on again. ESPN is on the verge of becoming the Brett Favre Network once again. Media types are camping out updating us on the wherabouts of the Vikings coach, Favre's daughter. Too freakin much info. Now, today Brett says he's still retired. FOR NOW. Which probably means he's retired until the Vikes get all of those pesky mandatory OTA's taken care of. Wake me up in September.
