  1. No doubt his size and speed make him an intriguing prospect for many of you, but as a GT season ticket holder, I've watched him drop waaaaay too many balls in key situations to think he would be worth spending an early draft pick on. If he's there in the 4th round I think you take him and hope you can fix his dropsies, but I wouldn't take him before that.

  2. Buffalo has had a hard enough time maintaining what it has. The region could not survive the the negative publicity that comes with losing a team. The loss would serve as an high profile indicator of the regions economic struggles. Attracting new businesses to Buffalo is already hard enough. If the team left, it would be next to impossible. At least for a long while.

Then there's also that whole civic pride thing. Buffalonians identify themsleves with the football team moreso than just about any other football city. And because of that, some people stay in Buffalo (the rate of population loss has decreased a good bit), restaurants thrive (at least relative to how they'd be w/o the Bills), tourism increases(every time I fly home I'm on the plane with others who are also going to the game, staying at hotels, eating at Duff's, going to the Falls, etc.... SPENDING MONEY).

So while I agree that, generally, spending public dollars on things like this is usually a bad idea, I think in Buffalo's case it actaully makes sense. It's an investment that helps avoid a very difficult social and financial climat.

  3. On top of the tax money generated by having these multi million dollar earners based in NY state. There are numerous economic benefits to the region having a team located in WNY. From toll booth traffic, hotel bookings, tax on merchandise, and many many other things that bring in a revenue stream. It is not like the Bills will be given 84 million dollars without any coming back in to the state coffers.

After watching the BCS National Championship game the other night where's the love ? I have seen very little love for one of if not the BEST defense ever put on a college football field !! Of all the mocks I've seen very few have any Bama defensive players picked in our draft . With what they did the other night if we could get Upshaw (defensive MVP) , Hightower , (#5 who ever he is) & one of Bama's CB's with the 1st 4 picks that would be a killer draft . I know that won't happen but I'm just saying !!

Agreed. Anyone from that DEF would be a great addition!

  5. Absolutely zero. This team has holes all over the field. LB, CB, WR, DL, OT. If they want to go QB and one of the Big 3 is available when they pick, than fine. But under no circumstances can the Bills afford to burn picks by trading up.

I get what you're saying, but you're assuming the Bills are good at filling holes by making quality draft decsions. They aren't, so I'd absolutely give them up, and more, to draft RG3.

  6. Did you see Gailey's face light up when he was asked by the media about Smith? Fitzpatrick and Smith are starting to get some chemistry. I think he does have a legitimate shot at proving himself worthy at the #2 WR position.

I like seeing him out there, but I couldn't help but compare his salary to what other WRs make:

I think he'd be 12th highest paid reciever in the league (maybe lower on this list... can't recall how much of his 4 yr/15 mil was signing bonus) as the Bills #2 WR. I guess you can look at it this way: the Bills are paying him, they might as well line him up at WR.

  7. well - luckily, the playoffs don't start right now. there are still 8 weeks.

1 team is coming out of the west - no wild card.

1 team is coming out of the south - no wild card.

cincy still has to play pit and bal 2 times each, so they will probably be in th 7-8-9 win range.

either baltimore or pit wins that division, with the other one getting a wild card.

that leaves the east: buffalo/new england/new york jets. 2 coming out, one as division champion, one as a wild card. we got the fins 2 times, dallas, denver, tennessee. it's gonna be close, but we can absolutely do it, and 10-6 can get it done.

jets and pats have just as many weaknesses as us. we beat the pats. jets? well, they had 2 weeks to prepare for a divisional game against us. of course they shut us down on offense. gaily will beat them in the rematch, and even if he doesn't we can definitely get in over the golden boy and his patsies.

have some faith. more importantly, have some fun.

that week 17 game against new england could be for a wild card, which is just as good as the playoffs, really.
