Yep 75 points the last two weeks (7 by the defense) and a very scary Miami team this week.

Yesterday was never in doubt, but face it the Bills only had 16 points entering the 4th.

Been said in other threads and not ready to state this is a serious issue, but the Offense just seems a little off (and let's forget about the Jets game).

Week two I commented the red zone was somewhat of a slog and while the Bills moved up and down the field, it was primarily dinks and dunks and little over the middle.  No screens, TE's seem underutilized and none of those 20 yard lasers Allen is great at.

Yesterday a great TD pass to Davis (his only catch of the day) and a few bb's to Diggs, three big scrambles by Josh and the last drive 64 yards rushing (with the game over), but again the offense I hope is a work in progress as I am not seeing a team firing on all cylinders.

As said hope it is just an over-reaction.

I believe we can boil your complaint down to Josh Allen didn’t pass for 300 yards.

In seasons past this stat line would have been a disaster.  Sure is nice to have a running game that does not flow through the QB.

    I like "Patient" Josh.

It’s nice to see the offense rebound and establish the run while minimizing Josh’s rushes. But let’s see how things are when they face another elite  D line like Dallas.  The Raiders are average  at best

Highest completion percentage through 2 games of any QB in the NFL with 40 or more passing attempts.

    76.9%

Completion percentage by itself is a misleading  stat .  Josh ‘s passer rating for that Jets Monday night game was very bad (62.6)  due to the many times he tuned the ball over

Have we all taken our deep breaths yet?

Let's be honest, the Bills have wildly shifted their offensive philosophy. I understand it didn't necessarily look like that in the game against the Jets, but the Bills went from being the team with the lowest percentage of 12 personnel in the NFL last season to being the highest in week 1.

That signals a massive offensive philosophy shift.

But obviously it didn't look like that on the field, which was really just because of poor choices by Josh yesterday.

Josh played what I think was his worst game in the NFL yesterday.

So what? Disregard his previous 5 years? It took 5 years, but suddenly he's figured out?

    Idiotic.

Josh will have bad games in the future obviously, but I think he needs to get his feet under him in this offensive philosophy. The Jets, in hindsight, may have been the worst team to trot out a new offensive philosophy and try to get comfortable against.

It was Monday night on September 11th in the general metropolitan area and the atmosphere was clearly electric. Hero Ball from Josh seemed almost inevitable looking back on it.

On top of all this, Sean McDermott is calling the defense (with a brand new young MLB) for the first time ever as Head Coach... mighta been an issue... particularly on an 83 yard run where everyone was misaligned.

I was actually impressed with the play of Bernard and especially Benford on our D.

I just think this idea that this national narrative in the offseason that "the Bills didn't improve because they stayed the same" is, at best, half true.

We still have to wait to see if the Bills improved... but a lot has changed:

    Shift to 12 personnel

All the offensive philosophies that go with that

Shift to HC as DC (How much is he in Josh's ear)

    2 new OL

New QB of the Defense in Bernard

    New CB2

    etc.

Friend invited me to see Peter Gabriel (yes we're dinosaurs😉) and agreed without thinking (and no way to back out).

So the plan was to tape and watch when I got home and fast forward a chunk of the game.

Son texts me about Rodgers injury (@ 8:20) and a cart being called and thus know he's out and figure it will now be a blowout.

Leaving game friend sees the the game on TV in a bar through the window and stops as it is the last 10 seconds, I tell him I'm watching at home since taped, but now it's ruined as obviously a close game and I see Bass tie it.

Since there now is no point and disgusted that the Bills have put up all of 16 points listen on the radio and then some commentary on the ride home.

Nothing to say, will peak here during the week, ignore most of the talking heads and am shaking my head in disbelief.

Simply put they better put up 35+ vs. the Raiders.

The Bills averaged 18.5 points last year against a Jets team led by Mike White and Zach Wilson.   Not sure how you figured it would be a blowout this year against basically the same defense

  6. Didn’t a whole bunch of folks here used to rave about Mike McCarthy being a QB guru  during his Green Bay days .With such luninaries as Matt Flynn, Brian Brohm,  and Graham Harrell passing through his tutelage and achieving stardom  , why not Trey Lande .

As per your non stop roid talk

“Hopefully before the season starts maybe we can get the games down a little bit,” he said. “It wasn’t on me. I’m pretty much a naturopathic person. What it was is it’s called ostarine. There was 0.1% found in my system. If you know what that is, you know it’s contamination — not something directly taken.

According to WebMD, ostarine — which is not FDA approved — is a type of drug that is called a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) and is often used for athletic performance, as well as “involuntary weight loss due to illness, breast cancer, and many other conditions.”

Ostarine is an anabolic agent ,  ie , used to build muscle mass.  So it functions a lot like steroids.     Its banned in athletics for a reason.

When the team is doing well and/or exceeding general expectations, as it has done the past few years, minus, probably, last season, this question is kind of moot.

But if and when the team is not meeting expectations or things get complicated, is there anyone in Pegula's circle of friends or trusted business associates (at arm's length from Bills operations) who he can turn to for advice and counsel on questions related to extensions, evaluations, or possible firings?

I'm not trying to be negative; I hope McBean lead us to multiple championships... but if things don't go as well as we hope — and with an elite QB things should mean serious contention for a Super Bowl — is Terry on his own or who advises him?

Pegula seems, obviously, like a sharp businessman, but he doesn't strike me as a football expert. Maybe I'm wrong but I expect him to turn to someone if and when he needs to make tough decisions.

Terry seeks advice from the poster formerly known as @IronMaidenBills (now @Araiza Curse) who has touted on this board how good a GM he is
