Coleman seems pretty smart and articulate to me, but even if he wasn't, academic intelligence doesn't really mean much in sports. It's just about having a football brain, or a tennis brain or a soccer brain or whatever.

Marino was supposedly terrible at his wonderlic but his football IQ was off the charts. I'm sure Peterman was always top of the class in his Bible study group yet when it comes to making throws on the field he's the equivalent of someone who needs R and L writing on their shoes

It amazes me how some people take another person's southern drawl as being unintelligent. Especially a person with darker skin. Is James Carville not smart?

disagree- he’s still pretty dam good, won’t cost much and can be fit under the cap relatively easy.  I think he’s just about the only way to upgrade the WR at this point unless you think trading for Aiyuk or Higgins feasible.  I don’t

We should've went all in with Dhop last year. Time to move forward with the youth

Guy has had injury after injury since he got drafted and Broncos have been one of the worst run franchises the last couple years, but not sure why Indy let him go if he’s some kind of hidden gem that just needed to get healthy.

Indy traded Jerry Hughes for Kelvin Sheppard. 🤷

Bills haven’t had a true deep threat since 2019 and part of 2020.

    Actions speak loud.

    Forget about Emmanuel Sanders?

We should have a thread on all the posting tics that drive us crazy. Me, I cringe at the use of "compliment" instead of "complement" (e.g., "Shakir compliments Coleman beautifully") and "zero chance," as in "There is zero chance this draft will help the Bills next year."

    I, too, have spoken. 😀

    I blame spell check 😎

It honestly all comes down to training

The training for the 40-yard dash has came down to an exact science... And you'll get more out of it with the most preparation

TO is a notorious workout warrior who has never stopped training... It makes sense he can run off 4.44 forty even at his age but when he was coming out of college the science wasn't down to a T yet

I'm nowhere near the athlete I was when I was 21 years old.. but I can still go to a training facility with 20-year-old athletes and clock 20 miles an hour with a 4.48 .. now I'm not Terrell Owens age but I'm not 21

But I'm not the same guy I was when I was 20 it's just I never stopped training and running

It's over for me at 55, but I can STILL shoot the lights out 🙂

I am NOT consumed with his 40 time though. That isn't my knock. He doesn't separate. Speed. Route running. Nous. Combination thereof. He isn't a separator. And those guys rarely work out in the NFL and when they do it is invariably as big slots.

Okay. Time will tell. Remember, many of those same draft analysts said Josh Allen will never be an accurate throwing QB. 🤷

McClaurin is the other guy who was older when drafted that stands out. I take the point on the age thing. I just think it is correlation not causation.

And he was a 3rd round pick.... even way back then. The poster's point was even if Coleman had gone back to FSU and put up 1200 yards and 9 touchdowns running a 4.6 in the 40 he wouldn't have been a top 10 pick. He is right on that. Doesn't mean you can't be a good player. But 4.6 WRs are not getting drafted in the top 10.

Where a person gets drafted means nothing to me. Can that person be a good to elite player is what I care about. People can have their "value". I want results. Many on this post are consumed with Keon's combine 40. I'm acknowledging that T.O. had a not so good 40 at the combine as well. Didn't see many catch T.O. on the football field. Keon said he didn't remember anyone catching him from behind either.
