  1. In a way it is very tough to tell what the hell it is we actually have. Injuries have DECIMATED this team for about the last 3 years or so. How do we evaluate players that are on IR or have played minimal roles because the previous administration had veteran man love? A lot of people like to give up SO easily on a player that hasn't really been given time to develop.

I know it's not a popular name but James Hardy is a physical specimen at the WR position. 6' 6", 220 4.5 speed. He sat out over a year with a knee he was rehabbing. He has hopefully learned some good things from TO and paid attention in the film and meeting rooms. We still have Steve Johnson who looked like he was developing faster than Hardy at the time. Both of these guys are entering their all important 3rd year as WRs. Throw in 6' 5" 240+ Shawn Nelson at TE with 4.5 speed and we could have a VERY serviceable group with Lee Evans working the outside. On paper these guys could fill all of our holes at WR/TE and they may actually be given a REAL chance to contribute this year. Bye bye Josh Reed.

Figure out the DC. Figure out if we stick with 4-3 tampa crap, move to a 3-4 or go hybrid like the Saints and give either look when it is appropriate. This will determine the priority at LB and possibly NT. After that we need to figure out who makes more sense to get in free agency. Definitely 1 starting caliber LB regardless of defensive scheme. Possibly a big fat bastard NT to plug the middle. Possibly a QB that lets us go LT at #9 or visa versa. Where is the value and good talent in the free agent market? Make the best of that ...fill in the rest at the draft.

Couldn't have said it better! IMHO, i personally don't like the QB draft class and feel we might have to find one either through trade or FA. Kolb or Vick(hope not) could be options but i would like to see us get Campbell. I believe Kolb would cost too much and well lets just say i'd perfer not to get Vick! I think we could get Campbell for 3rd or maybe less and i still like his upside. From there we obviously need to get a LT in the 1st two rounds. Like you said, not even sure what D we're running so not sure what positions will need to be filled there!

  2. Really? Was his season this year "a joke"? That's your conclusion concerning Favre?

    It's unbelivable.

No, my conclusion is: make up your mind one way or the other! He wanted to go to Minnesota all along, so he retired and when GB moved on by drafting Brohm in 2nd he decided he wanted back in handcuffing GB. Of course GB was the bad guy by not allowing Favre that option! You ask about this year? I think AP had a little to do with his success!! How was last year? IMHO, yeah he was a great QB and still good. Definitely his right to play and proved he still can. I believe he's a bit overrated and defenses loading the box to stop AP took alot of pressure off of him which ballooned his stats! I also believe he's a prima donna as alot of his former teamates have said and personally i'm getting tired of him!! Just my opinion.

  3. Good question. Why read my posts about Global Warming when you can parrot "scientific experts" like Danny Glover and Prince Charles??

This is supposed to be a FOOTBALL BOARD. My posts are about FOOTBALL (here, politics on that board). If you don't understand, then you are free not to read them...

That's not it! You just throw out a bunch of garbage and tell us we wouldn't understand. Just wondering why you would waste your time? Not saying i'm a football genius but pretty sure you're not!! 7TH ROUNDER OR STREET FA STARTING AT LG OVER LEVITRE!! Of course, all the talent evaluators in the league would be wrong and you right; i got it. Thanks for giving me the option not to read your posts. Don't think i will be!!

  4. Everyone is an expert regarding players they've never watched. After all, they parrot the great Todd McShay, still sure Brady Quinn is one of the greatest QB prospects ever...

Saffold is out, everyone saw him at the Shrine.

Simmons and Allen have gotten the total shaft. Let them go undrafted and y'all will lose Simmons to the Cowboys and Allen to the Panthers - UDFA have a regional bias. Best one locally - UB S Mike Newton.

If you have access, watch their bowl games. Watch Simmons vs. Stanford and Allen vs. Arkansas.

You'll understand quickly if you are able to understand that which you watch, which clearly excludes most here...

As for my special last year, KC try out player Darryl Harris (in TSW archives somewhere), he was the one of 13 tryout players to get a camp fodder contract, then he was second team OLG for a good chunk of the preseason, and then he was PS-ed for most of the year, being activated and switched to C when Niswanger got hurt, but then Rudy, it turn out, wasn't that hurt and played. No, Darryl Harris did not beat out Brian Waters. Sorry. Perhaps this year though...

Go ask the folks at Chiefs Planet what they thought of tryout player Darryl Harris in the preseason last year... and hopefully that will stop parrots from flinging BirdS when I make these type of assessments...

Or, go have another mouthfull of birdseed and keep parroting McShay as God...

One question for you: why post something if MOST of us don't understand anyway?

  5. No one has ever doubted his toughness, but his need to be the star of the game is why they are sitting home. Let the kicker win the game for you - nope not Brett he has to roll right throw left -

Not just star of the game but center of attention! Just hope he took notes while watching Warner another future HOFer retire; i doubt it though. I'm sure we'll see him this summer working out with the high school football team. Keep everyone guessing Brett; what a joke!!

  6. Second Round: Charles Brown OLT USC - best pass blocking OLT in the Draft

Third Round: Rodger Saffold OT Indiana (an OLT in college, a perfect ORT for the NFL)

    ...

    ...

Sixth Round: Sean Allen C East Carolina (steal of the Draft, likely best C prospect in the Draft, and a total whiff so far by the NFL "gurus")

Seventh Round: Brian Simmons OG Oklahoma (OK, so Duke sukks, Brandon Walker got a DUI a week after his undrafted was signed... I watched Duke a lot in 08 and concluded he sukked. I actually thought Walker was pretty decent as a late Round backup interior. And the guy they kept rotating in for both Duke and Brandon, must be some PS1 Freshman... nope, its DL convert Brian Simmons, the best OG on OU in 08 and 09, and the one OG prospect in this Draft who excels at all aspects of being an OG - Draft guru "consensus" - undrafted, maybe even a "try-out" player...

New Bills OL capable of keeping an NFL QB upright for more than 2 seconds per pass play (a HUGE upgrade from last year)

    OLT Brown

    OLG Simmons

    C Allen

ORG winner of Wood, Levitre, and everyone else

    ORT Saffold

    WHAT?

  7. If an NFL caliber QB is on the Bills roster, the closest there is would be Edwards. Brohm, Fitz and Hamden are nowhere close and never will be. Brohm=a few years on practice squads, then out of football. Fitz=career backup, more suited to be a #3. Hamden=career (and short one at that) #3. Edwards=we are in trouble when he is the best we have.

Wow, you should be a scout if you can already tell Brohm will never make it! Please tell us all what the Bills should do at QB position...

  8. Well good Lefevour is in the clear, grew up in Downers Grove, Ill and played at C.Michigan, and Lefevours coaches RAVED about his work ethic and intelligence all week.

your point? i didn't say stay away from california kids? i know where LeFevour is from, thanks though!

  9. Dropped one in the bucket in the endzone for the TD, looked just fine, besides you can improve arm strength easier than mechanics, or trying to teach him how to be a leader (Losman)

you either have an nfl arm or you don't! just my opinion!

  10. That is really unfair. The kid dominated the level of competition he played at all four years he played. He Broke all time scoring records in major college football. He stood nose to nose with the best QB's in the country except the ones that were not picked or were afraid to show up. He comes from a conference that has produced several very successful NFL Qb's. He demonstrates real on field leadership and a storng understanding of the offense with the ability to communicate it to his teamates. He has met every challenge so far. He will be one of the top five QB's taken in the draft, possibly the in top 3. To top it off he is not a California QB that needs perfect weather conditions to be successful.

how do you know his understanding of offense and ability to communicate to his teamates? ever heard of Travis Prentice, Trevor Insley, Colt Brennan? Because you break records in college doesn't mean you play in the NFL! so we should stay away from qb's that were born in california, raised, went to school there or all of the above?

  11. what is this UB you're talking about?

and Mayock, he was praising him today, he's credible, Kiper doesn't like him. Not every legit NFL qb has to be a first round pick. Lefevour has a NFL quality skill set, and the cold weather experience that everyone around here clamours for, what exactly is your argument as to why he's not good. And please dont mention the spread, every qb in this draft played in the spread

    ARM STRENGTH PERIOD!!

  12. 71.07% completion, thats more than midlevel accuracy, and that spread offense translates to a WC offense in the pros, he does need to work on his long ball accuracy but so far he's showed very well at the senior bowl practices, he's got Tebowesque leadership qualities, tough, mobile, smart. Overall he's a solid prospect, not an immediate starter, but a guy that with the right coaching can become a franchise QB IMO, kinda like how Matt Schaub did. at the rate he''s going he wont last past mid 3rd rd, and thats where I want to draft him.

watch senior bowl practice! floats deep ball and can't throw deep out! no thank-you!!

  13. The Rap on Tom Brady - "Lacks arm strength" that is why he was a mid round pick. Good News maybe LeFevour will be there in the third round now! Because with a good Senior Bowl week he was not going to last out of the second round.

Heard he lacked mobility, never heard he lacked arm strength. Kiper draft guide doesn't mention arm strength!

  14. What the Hell does that mean?????? Shining example are you serious..........................Jamarcus Russell problem is that he has no O-line , no Defense , no running game ..........Something that Sanchez has .......isnt it funny when you have a number 1 running attack and number 1 defense you look a whole lot better .even.with the same numbers.................Sanchez numbers is equal to Russell first year did you know that? This is a shining example that someone like Chan Gailey can get two shots at Head Coaching without deserving it, as oppose to Leslie Frazier who won everywhere Gets zero chances because he doesnt fit the "Good Ole boy" look................. You still dont know what I mean? Lets ask "good ole boy" Buddy Nix he has been on this earth 70yrs I am sure he was looking to be GM when they interviewed absolutely no one. How about "Good ole Boy" Overdorf /littman he has been with Bills screwing up contracts for 10 plus years Did you know he gave "Good ole boy" Jauron his extension now why not the furor to get rid of Overdorfer or Littman .................no reason I guess.........Jarmarcus Russell is the shining example why people on this board have preconceived views not based on facts but color of someone skin :wallbash: ...................with all that being said although he is better than all of the past QB's we had for the last 6-8 years, I wouldn't take him,Campbell,or Mcnabb..........terrible as this might seams right now I would not waste draft picks this year on QB's,there are too many good defensive players this year . We finally have competant people in judging talent I dont want to mess this immediate help with drafting a supposed "can't miss" guess on QB. We will finally get a very srong Defense and strong O-line this year, during that time Michael Vick (sorry dog lovers ) should be at the helm. Only he will put pressure on opposing Defenses . Why Mick Vick you ask? Arm and The fear he puts in defenses, We will have a player(like him or not) That has to be game planned for him. When our O-line fails us he can still(by himself) MAKE THE DEFENSE PAY. So when YOU people pull off those rose color blinders you will understand that he will be the 1st playmaker that we would have had since Bledsoe,Spikes,Molloy. Sorry for the Rant :worthy::worthy: I'M SORRY "GOOD OLE BOYS" BUT THIS TIME WE WILL FILL THIS ROSTER WITH PLAYMAKERS FOR ONCE............not the kelsays, shoebels, cortos, jenkins, ellisons, brad butlers, wendlings, dustin foxes of the past. Brandon,Littman, overdorf is now on notice your SCAPEGOATS IS GONE ....WE WILL BE WATCHING FOR ANY MARKETING GIMMICKS(LIKE LOOKING FOR A REAL HEAD COACH THAT YOU HAD NO INTENTION TO PAY) OR NOT PAYING FOR TOP COACHES( OVERDORF ,BRANDON LITTMAN). WE WILL GET TO SEE YOU FOR WHO YOU REALLY ARE ....RALPHS' YES MEN..................ENJOY IT WHY YOU CAN (RALPHS is 91,I hope he gave you guys a nice parachute) BECAUSE THE NEXT OWNERSHIP WILL DROP YOUR @#$ FASTER THAN YOU CAN SAY OVERDORF/littman SIGNS DOCKERY TO A 5YR 49 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT OR brandon resign jauron for 3 more years for getting us to 7-9..........

Jarmarcus Russell is the shining example why SOME people on this board have preconceived views not based on facts but color of someone skin. You can have Russell and Vick, i would love to get Campbell. His completion percentage and passer rating have gone up consistently over the past 4 yrs despite having, i believe, 4 different OC's. On top of that, i beleive he handled himself well with the Cutler rumors this past offseason.

  15. Kafka is Ryan Fitzpatrick....An adequate arm but nothing too great. I like NW spread but that is another disadvantage. He has a high completion percentage because he throws a lot of short crossing routes, and bubble and jailbreak screens. He had a good game today but he wont be anything more than a backup in the NFL and would be a waste of a 4th round pick imo with so many needs on this team.
