  1. IMHO

1.trade down to #17 with cincy they take S Barron, we pick BPA DeCastro, Floyd or our top OT

    2a. LB Kendricks

2b. from cincy CB Josh Robinson or CB Trumaine Johnson

    3. Our top rated WR or OT if we didnt select one in 1st

    4. TE Egnew

  2. Gabbert Sucks. He wouldn't even be a 1st round pick if Luck hadn't stayed for his last year. Gabbert wasn't even projected to go in the 4th rd in January. Wake up, watch tape, and don't believe all the hype.

That makes a lot of sense>>> If Luck came out and was #1 as predicted, it would drop a player projected as a top 5-10 totally out of 1st round. Thanks for your help!

  3. I read your entire post and agree with you 100%, until you got to the list of the 2nd rounders (I still don’t like Coztanza or Solder and Im not a fan of adding a QB at 34 either)

I have always agreed with the things you say about guys – its obvious you know what you are talking about. I would feel better about this upcoming draft if you were running the draft than the cronies we have in there (not saying much, but still a compliment  ).

I will volunteer for your staff and would also strongly recommend tgreg. My bet is we three could outdraft the Bills staff :bag:

PS: wanna throw up your big board- if you have one?

I agree with you totally! GM, head coach, positional coaches and scouts really don't know what they're doing! You and Why So Serious would do a great job drafting while watching youtube videos!!!

  4. I don't know why the people think the concept of the trade down has anything to do with who we are going to take.

We want teams to think that Cincinnati is taking the QB, after the issues with Palmer.

Since we pick in front of Cincy...out pick is the most valuable pick in the draft to those that want the guy they are going to draft.

Or jumping ahead of Cincy to get AJ Green.

  5. Best thing for us is if both Gabbert and Newton destroy it at the combine. The non-stop hype or (Kipe) machine will then take over. We need to ride that wave. media-fueled run on two over-valued QB's is what we want!!!

Not sure who would lunge but....if say SF and Tennessee both want Gabbert...or Minny wants Newton BAAAAAD...both are going to have to step over Cincy and Arizona as either one may grab one of the 2 QB's should they land in their lap. Dallas could jump is Peterson is a FREAKMONSTER at the combine as well.

The only sure spot to lock it in is #3.

START RELENTLESS "NEWTON TO THE BILLS HYPE" IN THE PRESS.....THEN TRADE THE PICK!!!!!!

If it's SF...Dareus, Miller or Quinn would be there at 7. Similar case for Titans (Gabbert) at 8.

even if its Minnesota, they will have to pay dearly, we probably land Cam Jordan at 12

no matter what, our option would be to get back into late 1 and/or load up the boat for rounds 2-3.

This draft is loaded with DT/DE talent. Some great OL value late 1 and early 2. Our TE is in there somewhere as is LB help...maybe even a Kaepernick/Ponder/Locker pick. MORE SHOTS ON GOAL. We are not draft snipers, we need a buck shot.

Lets be like the Pats this time....we're still rebuilding. I am willing to risk a Dareus lock for paydirt from a desperate team.

BUUUUUUUUUUUT it's the Bills.....so I will prepare for the "Buddy is a genius...you just don't understand" threads after Mark Ingram is the newest Bill at #3.

something tells me this year we do the right thing.

AGREE 100%!! Almost always welcome the idea of trading down, especially this year. Like you mention, depth at DL and still rebuilding. IMHO, stick with Fitzy, TE and RT through FA and draft DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE!!!!

  6. With all of the cuts coming in, is there a list somewhere of who is available? I think the Bills are holding off finalizing their 53 man roster to the very end in hopes of picking someone up. TE, OT maybe???

maybe trading marshawn? or seeing if they can..

  7. Well you're just wrong. Brohm's accuracy is not NFL-caliber. You cannot miss receivers by 3-4 yards on a consistent basis like he does and be a starter in this league.

WHEN?? How many games has he played in? Better yet, how many games have you seen him play? That's what i thought! When you actually see him play, than maybe i would consider your comments legit. He started one game in the NFL, ONE!! I didn't say he is definitely the answer just that TE and Fitz aren't! And yes, i have actually seen those two play and start several games in the NFL!!

  8. Calm down. I was never really sold on JP and am not necessarily sold on Trent. But Trent has simply outplayed Brohm. Brohm had to play with the second string, but he also got to play against the second string defense. Fitzpatrick also was in the same position and outplayed Brohm. If anyone has a better claim at first string, it is Fitzpatrick.

If you want to move up to the first string, you have to play very well with the second string. Brohm hasn't done that. It is his own fault that he has not played his way on to the first string. Trent Edwards had to do this and did back in 2007.

It is not as if Trent is some 35 year old vet. Brohm came in the league just one year later.

I would love for Brohm to live up to his original potential, because I am pessimistic about our QBs, but I am beginning to doubt that will happen.

You can analyze it any way you want, I've seen what both TE and Fitz have and i don't like it. IMHO Brohm has better mechanics and arm strength than either one. Does he HAVE IT to be a starter in the NFL? I don't know but, i'd like to find out because i'm pretty sure the other 2 don't!

  9. Based on the preseason, Trent looks to have a far brighter future.

PRESEASON!! How did he look the last 2 years? Did Brohm play with the 1st unit? Let me quess, you liked JP too right? Remember me and feel free to throw it back at me if TE continues to be the starter after this year!!

  10. They might still cut Brohm and just keep two active and Brohm or Brown on the PS. That way they can keep depth elsewhere

Or maybe they keep Brohm, the only QB on our roster that has the POTENTIAL to be an NFL starting QB! I realize TE starts for us but, he shouldn't. 1-2 years from now TE will be a backup somewhere if he's still in the NFL.

  11. I just watched my DVR'd game as well. I just don't see the issues that people were complaining about Brohm with this game. The pass to Foschi was fine. The int was on Foschi. Personally, I would keep Brohm as the #2. Nothing against Fitz, but we have already seen the best he is going to be. I would rather see what we can get from Brohm over the long haul.

    AMEN!!!

  12. I'm still not a big fan of TE. His preseason #'s were very good but he had a lot of time to throw and im not sold on his mechanics nor arm strength. As far as Brohm, tough to tell since he's never really had a chance to run with the 1st team O. (realize he had 1 start last year) IMHO, Brohm's mechanics and arm strength look much better than TE. Fitz... NO THANK-YOU!

  13. They are doing it right. You know for all the Nix bashing, Whaley is the guy that runs Free agency to a majoritive extent. He scouts potential FA's then makes recomendations to Nix on who to bring in....which has been pretty much no one so far and I agree.

Peppers? Overhyped. Takes many plays off and is in it for the money only. He was going to the highest bidder which was Chicago. Funny, Washington didn't go after him....hummm....

Dansby? A 'good' ILB that doesn't rush the passer. He is so good Arizona just flat out let him walk. Nuff said.

Vanden bosch (sp). Pure 4-3 DE and he was going to play with his old DC so no one else had a shot.

Kampman? Sucked in the 3-4 in Green Bay, a pure 4-3 DE. Went straight to Jacksonville who sucks as well.

So tell me again, who was it exactly we were supposed to go out and get? I may be wrong but hasn't Buffalo signed a FA on the first day of FA every year from 04-09? What is our record over that time again?

So not only Nix doesn't feel there are any FA's that are going to make a drastic difference, Whaley who has spent a decade with one of the best teams in the NFL when it comes to finding talent, doesn't think so either.

Bottom line no matter how much Bills fans and local media B word and whine and complain, they are doing it right. They are cutting the underproducing fat, and they are not going to go out and just sign someone to appease the fanbase and I love it. I love the fact Nix and company are saying screw the whining fans and worthless media, we have a plan and are sticking to it!

If there isn't anyone out there that can really help your team in FA then dont' sign anyone. I feel when things calm down and some of these guys finally understand their true market value, we will sign a couple guys. But in the end this team is going to be built through the DRAFT first and formost.

Would've contacted Kevin Walter to compliment Evans; maybe they did and he wanted to stay in Houston. Now i might look in Randle El. Think most of us feel like we have many holes to fill, so it would be nice to fill atleast one thru FA. I do agree, we need to be smart about it and not just jump on a big name!

  14. If the Bills go out and get Jason Campbell to be their starter, the Bills will not make the playoffs or have a winning season for years. He would doom Chain Gailey and his staff right from the start. I would rather take my chances with Trent Edwards or Brohm.

He is not accurate and is potentially worse than J. P. Losman. He has proven that he is not a worthy starter in this league and has done nothing to say otherwise.

Look up his stats(comp% and rating) over the last 4yrs. Also in case you didn't know, he has had 3 or 4 different OC's over that time. You have no clue!!

  15. Is Gabe Watson a UFA? If he is, he might be a nice addition. Living in Viking country, Jimmy Kennedy really impressed me when given the opportunity. However, he played DT in 43 so not sure if he can handle nose. Not real impressed with the QB options, might consider trading for Campbell or Kolb. Not real impressed with OT options either, need to replenish through draft(any possibility Levitre slides outside to RT and Wood and Incognito man guard positions?). Finally I'd GO AFTER DANSBY HARD!!!!

  16. The more I find out about this guy the more I like him. I'd be very happy to see him in a Bills uniform next year. I'm guessing that just before the draft he'll be graded as a high second round pick.

    Did he really say that? He obviously, knows a lot more about football than I do but that's the logic that led to JP being drafted. I would look at the necessities of a NFL QB this way;

    1. Intelligence - The position calls for so many decisions a dumb guy will find it a lot harder.

    2. Size 6'3" - 6'6" IMO, the ideal size for a QB is 6'4". He needs to be able to see the field and shorter is not better. Obviously that is not a hard and fast rule. Drew Brees is 6'0".

    3. Speed of good decisions made. I think that's an obvious one.

    4. Leadership ability. Will his teammates take a bullet for him or hope a bullet takes him?

5.. Ability to "feel" pressure. This, to me, is just something some guys have and others don't. It's nothing that can be taught. The better QB's seem to know when to step up to miss a sack instinctively.

    6. Arm strength. I don't give a flying  if he can score on every possession by throwing 20 yard passes consistently. It's great for ticket sales if he can launch one on the money for seventy yards but I'd rather win consistently than be entertained once in a while.

    7. Mobility. IMO, too much mobility in a QB (i.e. MV, RC, and DM coming out of college) can be a problem. They are often to eager to use their feet rather than their QB abilities until they are older. A QB can't be a solid stone but Jim Kelly and other HOF QB's haven't had the mobility of an ill snail.

    JMO

If Buffalo got a stud OT and Lefevour out of this draft

    sounds like #1 overall pick!

  17. I'm just wondering how many games you watched him play in this year that you gotta a fever for LeFevour?

LeFevour is a spead QB who played in the MAC. CMU faced 2 tough defenses this year from BCS conferences, Boston College and Arizona, and LeFevour bombed in those games. A combined 310 yds, 58% 0TD's and 2 INT's, the offense scored 16 total points and more importantly they were beaten badly in both games . I'm sorry but the guy made a living off of MAC defenses and please save the Big Ben comparisons.

Finally, saying his arm is better than Bradys is one of the dumbest things that I've ever read on these boards. Brady is a HOFer, who has played in tough weather his entire career at UM and now NE. His arm has been strong enough to throw for 5000 yds and 50 TDs in a season, not to mention his 3 SB rings. The contrast is utterly ridiculous.

Seriously, if you jump on a guy's bandwagon, come with something more than ridiculous speculation and conjecture.

THANK-YOU!! Highly unlikely he ever starts in the NFL, just my opinion. I think Dez Bryant can throw farther than he can!!
