  1. How can you say he was AVERAGE when he only beat 2 other NOBODYS? I wouldn't call that AVERAGE more like BELOW AVERAGE. People that think 2 or 3 MPH does not mean anything are CRAZY, we are talking about a football here NOT a car.

    Ok... Lets split hairs...

    Trent throws 55 mph

Your want is someone who can throw 60

a 30 yard pass at 55 mph from release to completion would take 1.115 seconds

a 30 yard pass at 60 mph from release to completion would take 1.0227 seconds

Fact is TE is ok in my mind...

  2. Steve in Atlanta has convinced me with the chart he posted. What else do you need to know? TE has a faster ball speed than Paul Thompson and James Pinkey?..who...?!? Yep, case closed and put to bed...lol

Look, Drew Brees has no cannon for an arm, but year after year seems to get the ball where it needs to be for his WRs. The same can be said for Chad Pennington. But it helps to have ball speed (as mentioned) in Orchard Park.

So where is TE based on what we have seen so far? Well, Trent has had some good games and some not so good games -- so the jury is still out and this thread lives on. To be honest, at times TE has looked like a younger Kelly Holcomb. Check the stats, they are about the same from when they have been in Buffalo. The only difference being experience and it does not mean that TE will become a career backup. That said, it hasn't been a slam dunk that he is the QB we have been looking for either.

Steve in Atlanta (me) posted the ball speed to put this to bed in showing his arm is average compared to other qbs. you ASSUMED that I was trying to prove that he has a cannon arm and this is simply not true. He is average and if he could learn to be effective against a 3-4 "D" id be really happy. As has been already noted, Big Ben has a similar ball speed AND Mr JP is 2 MPH faster. This whole link started with people LUSTING after Cutler and claiming his arm was soo much better. We PROVED that it was 5 MPH faster which to me isnt worth crap in comparison to how much of a pu$$y that guy is.

So yes, this should be put to bed now. end of conversation. TE is simply average.

O.. one last thing. Wet noodle arm Pennington has carved us up in the past. Not by arm but by timing and being smart with the football...

  3. I am not sure I agree with that. It seems that his accuracy declines as the season wears on. He was very very accurate in his first year when he took over for the injured JP. He started last season very good (not as gerat as 2007 though) but was quite bad towards the end of last season. And yes, I was watching him throw the ball where it needed to be but not succeeding a fair majority of the time.

I think he was injured worse that the let on...

  4. I think he is referring to the Cutler comparisons as to when Trent's arm strength comes up...

I would bet Cutler is near 65+

    Heres 2007...

    BALL SPEED MPH

    Ingle Martin 61

    Jay Cutler 60

    Brodie Croyle 58

    Tavaris Jackson 57

    Bruce Eugene 55

    Cutler 60 MPH

  5. Is this from the Rookie Combine? Also, I haven't heard too much talk of his arm strength for some time actually...

I couldnt find others stats however id like to see them also. I was basing this post on all those worried about TE getting the ball to TO and Evans.. Obviously Trent is on the low end but I think its just fine..

  6. Trent Edwards arm strength has come into question over and over on this board so in an effort to put this to bed i'd like to show the facts...

  7. Back in my college years when they used to have the Pier open in the summer Kelly & all the boys would be there on saturday nights. They would all come in their own limo. Kelly, Bennett, Odomes, Smith, Tally, Tasker, reed, Thomas. Some of the hockey players would hang out with them like Mogilny. Say what you want about buffalo's nightlife but when the pier was hoppin their was some money being thrown around in that place. Being the poor college kid that I was, me & my friends used to drink a 12 pack each in the parking lot & would usually only have enough money to left to pay for the cover & by a round or two each. Looking back, not having much money in a place like that, I do not know how we did it but we always ended up bringing some girls back to our apartment from the Pier.

Another joke... the pier was fun but its gone too.. and oo BTW.. the girls you brought home were BUFFALO girls with the big noses, butts and guts... And they tawk an that uooh my gawd voice that makes me want to puke..

  8. Buffalo does not offer the same nightlife that other big cities have. As a place for young rich superstars to party and be seen, it is as dead as can be. Who cares? These superstars are capable of doing anything they want, almost whenever they want. I wouldn't worry about it. This would be a much smaller issue if that a$$clown McGahee didn't feel the need to take a shot. Besides superstars have been known to fall in love with small markets in the past. Go to South Beach in the offseason.

What a joke... South Beach in the ofseason BLOWS AWAY buffalo in the peak season... get a grip..

  9. Peters is working out real well lately, he played mediocre last season and likes to holdout, let's pay him $100 M like he wants and in 2 years he'll holdout again looking for $150 M.

Dont you understand? Dean just likes to hear himself talk... Dean is overated... He sits and watches this board to just make negetive comments about peoples ideas but NEVER has anything of value to say...

  10. A couple of thoughts...

We LOVE the showboating if it is OUR player...

TO single handedly put ALLOT of focus on the Bills and BUFFALO.... and its not even camp time yet... So in other words he doesnt need a huge market... he BRINGS the market to buffalo...

TO DOES make this 'O' better... even if he takes 1 person in coverage off of Evans...

San Fran is just pissed they overpaid for Clements..

OOPS i forgot to add... We need to build another hotel just to house all the new media that will be covering the games..

    "TO HOTEL"

  11. Interesting. I remember a player named Bruce Smith that did some "showboating" every time he got a sack when the Bills were on a national game.

I do not remember him being "booed" off the stage.

Then again, maybe the San Fran writers just think we were booing him when in fact we were saying "Brrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuccccccccceeeee".

Silly San Fran fans. D**ks are for chicks.

  12. I bolded the ones that I believe are correct. Playing through the Superbowl for Philly in pretty excruciating pain proved that he's in to win it. However, whatever emotional issues he has have made him very very far from being the ideal teammate. Also, he acts selfish. A quarterback's job is to throw the ball to an open receiver. If Witten was open more often than TO, he deserved the ball more. TO complains when he isn't the premier receiver in any given game. What will happen if it's week 1 and TO get 4 receptions for 47 yards, while Evans gets 7 receptions for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns? Even if the Bills win the game, TO might be prone to running his mouth off. That can create issues.

When your TE has 81 catches for 952 yds and 11.8 yds a catch and your #1 WR has 69 catches your looking at the TE too much.. AND include the fact that your RB has just 17 fewer catches than your WR.. They had problems...

  13. I've calmed down about the TO signing and agree that there isn't much downside with the 1 year contract, but don't make up positives about him. TO cares about one thing...HIMSELF! As long as the balls are being thrown his way, he is fine. As soon as he determines that he is not getting his quota, he gets pissed.

    Lets put it this way...

TO wants to WIN and sees himself as the best player on the team... ANYONE who doesnt want the ball isnt passionate about his abilities or winning.

I like TO and i think the fans will LOVE him! He will LOVE the people of Buffalo. Its a GREAT marriage!

  14. Just my feeling...

    -TO just wants to win..

    -TO DEMANDS accounibility..

    -TO IS a great teamate..

-TO says is as he SEES it... Has he been wrong? The latest was Romo locking in on Whitten.. Was he wrong?

-TO will demand better play from his team mates.

-TO is NEVER in trouble with the law.. could help Lynch grow up..

-TO is a LEADER and the Bills NEED one...

This will work and the Bills WILL be better...

    9-7

  15. I don't think his article is that far off from the way I feel about the current state of the Bills and their most recent attempt at escaping the lower half of the NFL's ladder. Either way, no matter how you feel about this guys ariticle, what does his looks have to do with it, and how did it effect the article? Maybe I just feel this way because I admit to not giving Brad Pitt a run for his money although based on alot of these posts here, there are alot of people in here that could run in and steal Angelina from Brad as we speak. Shouldn't alot of you be out looking for modeling work and not spending your time on this board?

HAHA! Yea! Y'all can model ZUBAS or for a local pizza place..
