  1. The Sabres looked pretty decent last night. Nabokov got the 1st Star even though he let in 2 goals.

Basically this road trip isnt a failure unless the wheels fall off... and they havent. They have lost a few games, but have not looked bad and have fought hard. they still have a decent lead in the division, which is the important thing. Grabbing the #3 spot is huge.

  2. I was pretty sure Roger Goodell said, might have even been at last years HOF ceremony, that it was in the NFLs best interest to keep the Bills in Buffalo, and that they will be in Buffalo...Im not to worried, its not like ralphie is gonna die and everyones gonna be like "Oh ****, what do we do with the bills now"?

maybe Im just used to Gary Bettman and the nHL's way of doing things. They seem to defend their existing franchises no matter what when somebody targets them or bad news comes out on financials.

if it were the NHL, and the report came out that the behemoth was specifically targeting, say the Tampa Bay Lightning... The NHL would come forward within a day or 2 with a statement to put people in Tampa Bay at ease.

  3. I'm not sure Chan would be comfortable with that. Does anybody think Reeves is just going to be content to be a coordinator or some sort of consultant?

I had the same thoughts, but maybe he is. He doesnt seem to display the same ego as a lot of successful head coaches portray. He might be content in working in football and not in a role where he receives the pressure a head coach gets

  4. Anyone supportive of Vick, I do not have a problem with at all. They are entitled to that viewpoint, and it is their freedom.

However, I would be done with the Bills and likely the NFL

Animal cruelty is a really important issue for me. I have spent time volunteering at Animal Shelters, I donate money to animal cruelty organizations regularly. Yes, I do understand there may be more important causes in human matters, but this is what I choose to support. What Vick has done is ghastly and in my eyes he is a cockroach. I dont care if it happens in his community. They are all scum too. I work down the road from Camden, NJ and crack and murders are part of their culture there it doesnt make it right if someone moves to Oswego and starts shooting people and selling crack.

Again, I can respect the viewpoint of those who would choose to look past Vick's past. It is their right, as it is my right to hold this against him forever. I dont think either side is "incorrect", which is why this debate rages on on message boards all over the country. He has been released from prison and he has been allowed to make a living. That doesnt mean I have to pay money and cheer when he does well and makes more millions.

  5. I know people get mad when others say this, but... If Vick ends up on the Bills I am done and will burn all my Bills stuff.

Im not full of crap either, verify it however you want. My last TBD post will be a link to a youtube video of me burning my Bills stuff while calling to cancel my season tickets.

  6. I think it is screwing himself in a way.

The franchise he built for 50+ years could live on. The stadium which is viewed globally many times a year will bear his name. He would be on the wall of fame/some greater honor in the stadium overlooking the games... that kind of thing would give me comfort in passing.... that such a great thing will live on. If they go to the highest bidder and blot for LA, it will in effect be an expansion team and Ralph Wilson's creation will be erased.

Almost every Sabres game I attend, I look at the SHKIII and NRK banners and say a thank you.

  7. I have been very skeptical of everything about this franchise... for years, but especially in the time since the Saints game this season.

I thought the Gailey rumor was actually a joke thread at first, didnt even click on it and learned it was factual information in the following days.

I hate Russ Brandon, I dont trust Nix or who seems to be pulling the strings, and I think it is shameful the way Wilson has taken this organization since the 90's.

With that out of the way, we have no choice but to fill that stadium next season and make as much noise as possible. We cannot waiver in our rabid fandom. If the team starts to suck, we boo. If they win, we cheer and say we billeaved all along.

If we empty the joint out, that will take an entire season.... then IF Wilson decides that he needs to clean house, the whole restructuring of the organization and rebuilding will take a few years. Then if everything is done correctly, the Bills may be good again... maybe. Maybe they would just try some more manipulative moves, who knows. Ralph Wilson has not been known to waiver his position in the face of criticism historically (not including eating Jauron's contract).

Ticket revenue is shared anyway. 60/40 I believe. So say tickets average $45. If there are 20,000 less seats sold over 7 games, that is $6,300,00.00. The Bills' share would be $3,780,000.00. That can easily be made up shaving some salary. Yes, I know parking and merchandise are also factors... but say all 20,000 people were to park in the lots at 4 people per car, and $25 per car... That is a total of $875,000.00 for the entire season. I know merchandise is also a very small piece of the puzzle. It really doesnt seem like enough to make too much of a dent in the team for one season.

And everyone knows Ralph Wilson isnt a young man. He is in his 90's and each year the odds of him passing are greater. Not saying Im for him dying. But when he meets his judgement, we as Bills fans will also be at our time of judgement by the NFL and its fans. If we keep filling the stadium every Sunday, we have made as good of a case as we can that the NFL is better off with a team in Buffalo, NY. Not only that, but the franchise would be more appealing to a buyer(s) willing to keep the team local. I was very proud to see the turnout and the crowd noise for the Colts game this season. Other teams out of it werent filling half their stadium. Great turnout in Buffalo in crappy weather for a meaningless game. I work outside of Buffalo and numerous fans from other teams said they checked out that game and thought it was awesome on Bills fans.

So in summary, there is nothing we can do to change the course of this organization. Chan Gailey did win me over somewhat yesterday as I liked his inflection, personality, and attitude. The Bills will be 0-0 in September and winning is actually a priority of the organization.... arguably not the top priority, but that will not change until the ownership is changed. Us as Bills fans are very much on a tryout for the NFL and we NEED to make it as difficult for them to tear the team out of here as possible.

If you made it this far, thank you for taking the time.

    Go Bills.
