  1. The beginning of our season was based on troubled teams that we could beat and here we are again. Each of our next 3 opponents share a common bond, losing. We will roll all of them and return to 4 wins above .500, it's our season from there.

No offense but please wake up and smell the coffee...

The Bills OC is calling the strangest plays at the most inopportune times, like shotgun on third and one.. THREE FRIKKIN TIMES against the pats and all went incomplete.Schonert is putting Trent is some plays its difficult to succeed in.

The Offense has no running game, again Schonert calls shotgun on first down and then I formation run on second down and 10,makes no sense.

Have you actually watched these troubled teams??? SF almost beat Arizona in their house on mon night and played great D.

Denver had to score 34 points on the Browns with a huge comeback by Jay Cutler to beat them on Thurs night! The KC would have gone into overtime if Herm Edwards has them kick a FG instead of going for the win!

These teams are playing really well right now, sadly the Bills are not!

  2. Yup, teams have figured us out when you can't run. Let's call a spade a spade and let's put the blame on the 1st rounder who can't break out of one game this year. You know and I know who he is. A first rounder should produce something with that talent, yet all the talk is on Trent.

Trent has had 3 bad games, and out of those 3 only one was terrible or Losmanesque. I don't seem to remember him having those under 100 yard games Losman would have, but I do know Lynch has failed to do anything to show real talent. So let's throw some blame where it should be. We all know Edwards is not Warner who can win without a running game, and we know Brees isn't doing so well without one despite his prolific numbers.

Why not look at this objectively and realize without a running game no QB, unless they are amazing and seasoned. If you want to find faults, look at "Beast-Mode". The guy lacks vision and runs like a burner without the jet packs.

There's your issue, and it has less to do with Trent and more to do with Marshawn.

u r a freakin jackhole... how do u break out when the running game isnt part of the game plan. hes had over 20 carries just ONCE this entire season... and that was because we ran a bunch of times in a row to run out the clock against the Raiders. hard to break out when u r getting 9 carries a game, toolbox. u should hook up with Turd shonert and have his gay retarded love child

    Agree with jjbegoose!

StupidNation'...His Name says it all,Ignorance can be fixed...stupid can't

  3. Rest of the schedule:

    CLEVELAND (3-6) W

    @ Kansas City (1-8) W

    SAN FRANCISCO (2-7) W

    MIAMI (5-4)W

    @ New York Jets (6-3) W

    @ Denver (5-4) L

    NEW ENGLAND (6-3)W

If Buffalo can't come out of the next three games at 8-4, they don't deserve to make the playoffs. I think they will, and I also believe they win in Toronto vs. Miami. I think if they finish 11-5 that'll be good enough to get in, the AFC isn't as competitive as years past.

    11-5. :D

Playoffs.....??? Playoffs....??? In the voice of Jim Mora

Please pass the Bottle, pipe or whatever it is your high on. It would be really nice to also have a warm comfy feeling about the rest of the Bills schedule

The reality is that the bills won't win again this year if they play like they have the last three games!!!

  4. Like I've stated in other threads about JP starting...ok sure!

Since this OC is hell bent on throwing the ball 80% of the time and in the most stupid of situations, like 3rd down and one yard he calls shotgun THREE times against the pats. All three went incomplete. The one time he called a run one 3rd and one it went for a first down.

Might as well put JP in there and let the OC kill him with his bizarre play calling, better JP then Trent getting hammered and shell shocked since he is leaving after this season.

  5. You guys want to point fingers at the QB and give him the lions share of the blame for losing, not me.

Granted he has made some bad throws and some mistakes but if your going to point fingers lets look at the play calling ok ?

Why on earth does Schonert constantly use the shotgun formation in the wrong situations. The shotgun formation was designed when you HAVE to pass!!! This OC uses it constantly and in situations that are so bizarre. He called shotgun on 3rd down and one on three different occasions against the Pats!! When it was 3rd down and one and he called a run it went for a first down.

Schonert is over using the shotgun formation IMO.

I'm hoping that Dick Jauron will look at this game and have some words with Schonert...something like ...

  6. Wouldn't it be great if we could sit down with Belichick and pick his brain as to what is wrong with the bills. He could tell us straight up who are the weak links, playcalling flaws, tendencies and other tidbits. Love to know what he really thinks about the bills...Bet you would get a very good assessment...
We can only hope NE and him have a fall out and we sign him. Agree 100000000 %

Robert Kraft would need to go certifiably insane to let Bill Bilichick go....never gonna happen!

On the other hand its just too bad that Ralph Wilson won't cough up the cash to sign Bill Cower!!!

Can you imagine Bill Cower running this team, he would break his foot off in some lineman butt and they would open holes you could drive a car through

  7. Isn't the shotgun used more as an absolute pass play?

Yeah, usually - unless you're the Florida Gators or running the "Wildcat."

Going shotgun and throwing a lot is only a problem when you are devoid of weapons. You need two good WRs, a pass-catching TE, and a pass-catching RB. The Bills are lacking a couple of those to be passing so much.

The Bills used the shotgun formation so many times in short yardage situations it just makes no sense to me. Then when the Bills are finally in the red zone and on 2nd and goal from the 4 yd line they run up the middle...3rd and goal from the 4yd line, another run from a 2 wide receiver set with a closed formation.

Sorry, but these play calls are making me crazy! Wouldn't you rather be in the shotgun in 3rd and 4 to go,rather then be in a goal line bunched type offense which is meant for one or two yards and not FOUR yards?

Second half was the same thing, 3rd down and one the Bills are in the shotgun again...which they didn't make a first down....again.

On first down the Bills are in the shotgun ...incomplete pass. second down I formation and they try to run on 2nd and ten.

Now I can understand using the shotgun on 2nd and 10 but starting a series using the shotgun on first down and then going to an I formation and run on second down and 10 just appears irrational to me.

Some of the play calling and formations are making me

  8. Unless they can focus on getting the running game fixed and start taking pressure off the QB by pounding the ball on the ground....

Unless they can get the OC to stop the "STUPID" play calling, like a shotgun formation on 2nd and 3.So far Schonert isn't even trying to run the ball consistently.25 carries for Marshawn would cure so many ills.

If they continue to fail at running the ball I don't see them winning another game this year....5-11.

Plus they will screw Trent Edwards right into the ground, just like they did with JP and get him shell shocked and looking at the rushing linemen instead of his receivers.

On the other hand If they do finish 5-11 it wouldn't be so bad. This up coming draft is supposed to be the best ever.so many underclassman will enter the draft. So if they aren't IN the super bowl I'd rather see the bills reinforce the team with the draft

  9. Trent has lost his confidence, he had a swagger about him early in season....IT"S GONE.

The play-calling has been horrid the last 3 games, we're too pass-happy, we have to RUN THE BALL!

Until Lynch gets 25 carries a game (regardless if it's working or not) we will continue to LOSE>>>>>>>>

I couldn't agree more !!!.....its also so frustrating to know the Bills are not even trying to run very often :wallbash:

  10. First series against the Pats,

1st dwn- Marshawn left side for 7 yards... (I'm thinking whoa nice run,If only they can do that all game)

2nd down, shotgun #51 blitzes untouched and Edwards has to hurry the throw...incomplete pass

3rd down, shotgun again, 6 pats rushing the passer,6 Bills lineman blocking, back stays in to protect and...#93 of pats blows right by #66 and SACKS Edwards!

First question is...why go to the shotgun on 2nd and 3,3rd and 3?

Second question is...is it the O-line? screwing up by getting beat straight up,by not picking up blitzes

My thoughts are ...At least make the opponent wonder if its a pass or run.To me this is entirely on the shoulders of Turk Schonert.

Isn't the shotgun used more as an absolute pass play? Where its 3rd and long and everyone knows ya gotta throw? Why then use it on 2nd and 3,seems really stupid.

Schonert is the OC and calling the offensive plays and is trying his best to get Trent Edwards killed!!! The Bills finally have a really decent QB and he is getting his rear end handed to him game after game because the OC is calling some really stupid plays and at the wrong time. His calling worked against the lame teams, but now against decent opponents it is showing what a bad job he is doing.

Dick Jauron needs to step in and let his OC know that he wants to go the conservative route and RUN THE DAMN BALL!!!

The best offensive lineman the bills have are on left side #66 and #71,make them earn their pay and run the ball on that side till they drop!

It is all about confidence and the Bills don't have much right now its because the OC is trying to confuse the opponent and all he is doing is screwing the offense up.

This team needs to know that they can do the most simplest thing in football and that is run the ball! What the OC is doing is trying to setup the run with the pass. That might work for a young QB and an experienced veteran line like the Patriots have, but its not working with the bills because the line lacks continuity. A rookie O-line coach may be somewhat at fault but injuries also have had some effect.

The Bills need to focus on the running game from the start. Line up and just pound the ball...right side, left side, toss sweeps. Let the players gain some confidence, all the players. I saw Lee Evens get an end around in one game and then haven't seen it since.

An effective running game helps Edwards immensely,it helps the defense by staying fresh on the side lines. It helps control the clock and keeps the ball away from the other team.

Bottom line, this Bills team will struggle against every opponent until they either get lucky or mount an effective running game. They won't beat Cleveland or KC or any team again this year until they learn to run the ball. The final blame has to go to the head coach. If he fails to wake this team up he doesn't deserve to keep his job!!

P.S. I really like Dick Jauron too.In the past he has been known for a strong defense and power running game. He is letting his coaches do their own thing and it will cost him his job. :wallbash:

  11. You guys get me!

Do any of you realize just how difficult the transition it is for a player to go from collage to starting in the NFL? Even with a top ten pick in the draft there is no guarantee for any of them to succeed. Look at Tony Mandarich and the Bills flop mike Williams.

It usually takes time for a player to develop into a starter,an example might be Bills 1980 #one draft pick Jim Richter who won the outland trophy in collage and sat on the bench for a few years at Buffalo before becoming a pro bowl player.

The biggest problem with O-lines is developing continuity, this takes years usually. They need experience and to play together to form a cohesive unit, which takes time.

For the love of god stop all the complaining and just think, the Bills could be like the Cleveland Browns who made the playoffs last year and are currently 3-5 or Cincinnati Bengals who just won their first game and are 1-8

  12. Dick Jauron was the best thing since sliced bread a few weeks ago and now that the Bills lost 2 in a row all the haters pop up.

This is the same guy that won NFL coach of the week and has been on the list 2 times.

Some of you guys sound like a fleet of ambulances rolling down a 6 lane highway with sirens on full blast,WAAAAAaaaaaaaAAAAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAAaaaaaaaAAAAAAA...

He knows the running game is in big trouble and said so,His words were the running game is in a "slump".I think he is correct in not throwing anyone under the bus, but that's his way and I admire him for it.He could have thrown his entire line under the bus because they were manhandled by the Jets,Kris Jenkins owned the bills even when double teamed, It was sad.

Give the two teams that beat the Bills the last two weeks some credit, both are way better this year then last year.

Who really knows what is said behind the doors at one Bills drive but the players and coaches, and that's the way it should be.

WTF is he supposed to do start ranting in public about how his O-line players suck and can't get the job done even if its true?

Last year the team won more games then anyone gave them credit for because they still played hard every week with so many injuries. This year the team has a ton of injuries again, tho has not sent them all to IR like they did last year.

Jauron has been known for a power running game and stout defense. I say give the man some time to get this fixed.

  13. I <3 the Bills, but I couldn't agree more with most of the comments about the running game,or lack of one.

Running the ball consistently will cure so many of this teams Ill's. Help set up the passing game, keeps the defense fresh by keeping them on the bench.wear down the opponent's defense, play keep away with the ball.

The Jets showed the bills how it is done in the 4th qtr last game.

All I can say is this is a very young team with some very talented players. it all comes down to coaching and play calling!!!!

The Bills have a new OC and Line coach and it is showing big time, lets hope they can get it together before the team slip's to the bottom of the division and out of the playoffs.

I think one poster on another thread stated he wanted to see the Bills run the ball 25 times, even if it meant 25 runs and zero yards. If not for anything else but to show that the bills will have some commitment to the ground game.

If I'm Ralph Wilson in Detroit I'd be calling and asking some hard questions about the run game right now. They have 2 very talented RB's and and the Bills keep trying to make the 2nd year QB carry the load....makes no sense

  14. I just don't buy it. The original post was right. We relied too much on Trent and the passing game. Most of the mistakes we made today would have been wiped with an average running attack. It's almost zero-sum: lack of a running game removes options for you and gives them to the other team.

    I agree

Coach Jauron needs to kick some O-line butt into shape and focus on pounding the ball on the ground,If he doesn't the Bills season is over.

  15. Where was the commitment to run? We fall down 13-6 and they all but abandon the run game. I know the JETS are #4 against the run, now after our game probably #1, but comeon let's be serious - we hung Edwards out to dry again. It was a close game and the offensive game calling was not balanced. WE NEED TO START RUNNING THE BALL. I want 25+ carries against the Patriots. I don't care if we get 0 yards on 25 carries. Let's use our fat overpaid Lineman and tell them to hit the old slow Patriot D in front of them and wear those Fauckers down.

    Well said

  16. Absolutely stupid. I seriously have to question the sanity of anyone that walks away from this game and feels like our defense let us down. Honestly....what game were you watching? We had a pick 6 and held them 16 points what more do you want...how many tackles does it take to make our offense better?

    Well said

    FIX THE RUNNING GAME!

  17. As the weather gets colder it will expose the Bills biggest weakness more and more and that's their inability to run the ball.

You can Blame the 2nd year QB all you want....blame the Defense all you want. Its not going to fix anything.

Until Head Coach Dick Jauron breaks his foot off in some O-line backside and motivates the team to focus on pounding the ball on the ground they won't win many games much less make the playoffs.

I've been saying for weeks now that the O-line looks horrid and the Bills should not be relying on a 2nd year QB to bail them out game after game. It would make it so easy for him if they set up the pass with a decent running game.

Some people wanna cry about the QB,some wanna cry about the starting RB,some wanna cry about the defense, Fix the O-line and the rest will fix itself.

  18. As a bills fan it is very distressing to watch a game and not get much pressure from the ends all game,. The Bills don't have a sack leader even in the top 30 NFL players. Joey Porter leads the NFL with 10.5

The Bills are currently 11th in total D. 13th against the pass and rush and 23rd in turnovers standing at -3

I would not be upset to see the bills go after a pass rusher (OLB or DE) in the off season, either in the draft or free agent. They need to motivate their current players somehow.

  19. The reality is The Bills are 5-2. Last I checked, QBs don't get wins and losses assigned to them. This ain't baseball.

You are correct sir, the Bills are 5-2, Trent Edwards is 5-1 and JP Losman is 0-1. I'm not going to hold a player accountable for a game he played one series in.Edwards went 3 for 3 until knocked out of the game.

Like I stated its "my take". The thread is asking for an opinion > Right Now Bills Best Player is .....In my opinion it is Trent Edwards.

  20. My Quote

Hi ieatcrayonz.... that is some pretty crazy logic you have goin on in that skull of yours.

Reality=Trent Edwards is 5-1 with some really nice 4 qtr comebacks so far this year,he has played poorly in one game.Just made a bad decision to hold the ball out trying to be certain of getting the first down and one INT.Not like he turned in a JP performance . Edwards is still a very young QB and has a ton to learn. IF I'm going to throw some blame around for that loss I'd have to give Turk Schonert the lions share for not running the ball more

    Your Fix

Hi ieatcrayonz.... that is some pretty crazy logic you have goin on in that skull of yours.

    Reality=Trent Edwards is 5-2

    fixed it for ya!

Actually my take is that Trent Edwards is 5-1. He was literally knocked out of that loss in Arizona in the bills first series so how can we say he is anyway part of that loss. I'm also of the opinion that if Edwards plays that entire game the Bills would have won!

So Yeah Edwards is #one so far this year :worthy:

  21. You have a problem with that? I have three problems with that.

    1. Trent drove us all the way down there, and then they run three straight plays with Fred. Should've been Marshawn.

    2. We should have thrown on at least one of the plays. I would have liked to have seen Trent roll out right and toss one to the TE.

    3. 4th and 1 on the 1. Should've gone for it. Too conservative on Jauron's part. Because if we get it, 7 points, and if not not Miami's pinned on their 1, possibly a safety which is only one point less than a FG, plus we get the ball back.

On #1-Dick Jauron addressed why Marshawn wasn't in the game for those goal line runs, because the trainers were looking at him for some reason not stated.

On #2- I agree, why not roll out and throw

On #3-again I agree, Go for it on 4th down

Is this even the same team we saw in game one against the Seahawks with the gutsy fake FG and throw to Ryan Denny from Moorman

Then after the ultra conservative 4th down FG goal series the Bills start going pass happy, Edwards was 21/35 -227. and Jackson 10 carries and Lynch only 13,the combined 23 carries went for 102 yds

Last year against the dolphins the bills ran the ball down their throats. Both Lynch and jackson had over 100 yards, combined for 40 carries for 224 yds which the Bills won 38-17

With Josh Reed out I'm hoping the Bills find the power running game that has been missing all year

  22. A friend of mine and I were arguing on Sunday about the following:

I said that there is NO WAY IN HELL that I would have traded for Roy Williams, giving up what Dallas gave up.

    And...

He claims that Lee Evans is not a Top-Flight WR in the NFL. He says Evans is not worthy of a #1 spot, and that all he can do is go deep. No jukes or spin moves, no ups for jump balls...etc. My friend said Lee Evans is NO WHERE near as good as Santana Moss, Laverneus Coles or Steve Smith. He then went on to say, he would rather have Randy Moss RIGHT NOW, on the Bills roster, instead of Lee Evans.

    WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK?

Would you have traded a 1st, 3rd, 6th and 7th for WR Roy Williams?

    And...

Is Lee Evans skilled enough to be a legit #1...is he as good as Santana Moss and Steve Smith? (Other studs, his size).

    And...

Who would you rather have on the Bills, RIGHT NOW...Lee Evans or Randy Moss?

I Suppose your friend never saw that one handed shoulder catch by Evens in the SD game.
