I would bet most of us root for the Bills because we were born into the blood.
Not true. I was born in NJ surrounded by Giants and Jets fans. In 1985 when I was 11 and a pop warner little guy and the Bills captured my fandom for life. 27 years later Here I am still. Try in to figure out what the Hells is wrong with me.

Ok. I have watched all the highlight footage of the top qb prospects. I am no expert and don't claim to be but i trust my eyes and they tell me that this kid Manuel is gonna be a good one. I like him more than the rest and feel like he has upside. strong enough arm to get it done and athletic. I would not be pissed if they took him at 8. If they feel like he's their guy who cares where they pick him.

Kevin Boothe (G) is still out there - started 16 games at left guard for NY Giants last season, can also play center and - in a pinch - tackle.
What are Nix/Whaley waiting for???? (They should also look at Cornell OL J.C. Tretter as an undrafted free agent is he doesn't get drafted on day 3)
Something tells me we are gonna have a run on what value free agents are around after the draft. Its part of the moneyball thing they got going on. At least I hope they do in my mind

At first glance I think, wow, we are in trouble losing all those starters. But then the more I think about it, it's wow, how did the Bills win any games with those starters. Other than Livitre, the rest are average players at best. Uhg, so frustrating...This team has so far to go...

one thing is established, that at least four out of five times high priced free agents never play up to their contract. fans want the big splash but that usually hurts the team on the field. waiting for your value targets to hit is the smart thing to do, especially for a team in transition like the bills. i still guarantee there will be significant free agent additions to this team, just not in time to ease the early heart palpitations of impatient overreacting fans

So are we seeing our "analytics " department at work already? Staying away from over paying for overpriced free agents may end up being the smartest thing this trainwreck has ever done. Hopefully we are waiting for the smoke to clear and have some targets. I think I will wait until Sept.1st and see how they plug these holes before I throw my Bills gear in the fireplace. Thoughts?

I for the last 15 yrs have also shared the kind of frustrations that you have. Until now. I found myself giving contrary reasons to everyone of your gripes and Have realized that Being a Bills fan is like having a brother who can't seem to get out if his own way. You love him to death and know you will have him your life cause he's family. We just gotta hope that doing it this way instead of retread castoffs will produce better results.

We just signed Lawson. I think he and Dansby would be playing the same spot right? SLB.
I would have loved to see them sign Dansby but I think Lawson precludes that. We should be considering the other LB that Miami cut (Burnett)

Take it for what its worth Colin Cowherd said today that he has it on " good authority" that the Bills will take EJ manuel in the draft. Sometimes Colin is a blowhard though so there ya go.

I would like to have jim back for his special team skills and being a nickel corner. But not a lot of money. IMHO, anything more than 4 mil per year will be too much.

I agree with you to some degree. But there are 2 problems that still concern me:
1.) Buddy Nix built the current roster, why would we let him have a mulligan to do it again?
2.) By the sound of things, their plan is to fill the current holes with more soso players
So, other than giving Marrone and his staff a bit of leeway, it seems like theyre doing the same thing over again. We'll see.
Here's to hoping that Buddy is just in an advisory role more or less an Whaley is really at the reigns. I get the idea after they reviewed every player that they realized a few quality players aside that this roster blows and they have to choose their release battles carefully. After 13 yrs of putrid garbage, think they realize what a pig this rosteris and its gonna take a few yrs.

Ok lets be brutally honest and really take a look at the Bills position by position. I will start with QB. We dont have a bonified top flight starting QB. We all know that. Heck, we dont have a number 2 either. On to RB, Spiller is a beast and fun to watch. Fred Jackson is in decline and has lost his burst. On to WR. After Stevie Johnson we have nothing folks. TJ graham has hands of bricks. As for TE, Chandler isnt going to be ready and we have squat behind him. Our O line is the strong point but dont expect Levitre to stay. He is off like a prom dress. Our defensive line may be the strong point, however we certainly need another DE. Linebackers, I just gotta shake my head because we do not have 1 NFL caliber LB on the roster. I will lump the db's all together as one......average at best. We have way to many needs to address my friends. Brace yourself for a 2-14 type season. Its going to be worse before it gets better. Flame away if you like it really wont bother me. Reality is just that.
It may be a shock to some wallers but I'm a known pessimist around here. Its obvious that we have more holes to deal with but I think this coaching staff is on the right track. After doing evaluations they have identified the broken pieces and are getting rid of them. I know its hard to see now but the definition of insanity is to do the same things over and over again. It won't make alot of us happy but they have to get rid of the pieces that won't cut it and find replacements slowly. The last two coaching staffs plugged in players that were soso because they had nothing else. I am beginning to see that to change the losing culture of this club they have to identify and get rid of the losers they trot out there on Sundays. We're now seeing that there's so many its gonna take a while

So LV did Dan actually say the bills were in on the Alex Smith deal? I didn't hear it in the video, but then again you said it happened before Florio was on. I can find any links anywhere on this.
What DP said was that the Bills were the ones that drove the price for smith up. He didn't cite a source of course but I imagine he has a good inside one. DP seems pretty connected.

I don't care as much about Alex Smith because its over with, but Barkley to AZ interests me. The only thing I see here is a youtube clip Dan posted on twitter with Florio where they say that Fitz is done,Tavaris is under contract, and Matt Moore is an intriguing option for Buffalo. Was there something else I'm missing? I really want to believe this Barkley to AZ talk.

So Dan was about to have Florio on and said there's behind the scene drama goin down. KC paid SF the 2 draft picks because Buffalo wanted Alex Smith Dan said The Bills drove that price up and he's also hearing Barkeley to AZ and Smith to the Bills. Anyone else hear that today?
