How? Getting into cap trouble? Not having WR weapons? This FO hasn't proven anything yet outside of the luckiest QB pick in history. JA is the only QB who got more accurate after college and is saving their jobs.

You can say that about any QB that pans out. That Brady guy was no. 1 on everyone's board, right?

This is one of the reasons I started the thread.  So many people are screaming in other threads fire McD, fire Beane, we are in cap hell (we aren't), the offense sucks and the defense sucks etc..

However, when you put together a visual view of the roster, it reveals that Beane isn't an idiot, but has built a core of a very solid football team, which is getting younger again.  In the last 3 drafts, he has added starters Rousseau, Brown, Cook, Benard, Shakir, Benford, Kincaid, and Torrence.  He has 10 draft picks in 2024 to add more depth at WR, safety, and to fill other needs such as D Line.

and LB. We saw how badly we need one more reserve LB

  3. I've noticed all year that Josh is not a "Plays" QB. While other QBs hit their receivers in stride on designed plays, Josh holds the ball longer than anyone else and misses out on receivers at the best point of their routes. When he does connect, notice that the receiver is always facing the wrong goal line and is usually hit right away. That needs to change. I keep thinking our receivers can't be that bad. Josh is not helping them.

McD and Beane are not a package deal. There's no such thing in the NFL. Even the closest HC's and GM's get split up. In no way, shape, or form would there be a scenario where Pegula wanted McDermott gone and Beane to stay and Beane would say - "no way, I quit". There's only 32 people in the world who are an NFL GM. You don't give that up.

And of course next season we'll have another WR opposite Diggs. Probably a 1st Rounder. Kincaid is already shaping up to be the 2nd or 3rd big time passing option in this offense. With a franchise QB, if Diggs, Kincaid, and another stud WR to replace Davis isn't enough firepower (in conjunction with a solid roleplayer like Shakir) - than there's a problem.

This is a different situation though. McD was hired and requested Beane to come with him. I think they travel together if one is let go.

It was eerily similar to the conditions the Bills faced a year ago…heat index well over 100 on the Broncos’ sideline while the Fish were in the shade.  Everybody knew the 2nd half would be a schite-show.

At some point the league needs to mandate that this sort of “home field advantage” is not allowed.  During the month of September the Fish should only be able to schedule late or night games at home.

IDK, I don't want them taking away our December games or forcing us to have a dome.

Allen took deeper dropbacks to pass and that seemed to help. Week1 Jets D got after Allen and that D also had a much better secondary so Allen couldn't find guys open as he did against the Raiders.

That's a huge difference. The Jets D is strong everywhere while LV has some good safeties but not much in the middle. Exploit weaknesses when they are there.

  7. I'm still of the opinion that great RBs have great OLs. Without an excellent blocking OL and scheme, even the best RBs hit LBs in the gaps. I believe Cook will be a solid RB if we can build a proper OL that manhandle DLs late in the season in bad weather. We used to have that and it worked. I prefer to use our 1st round (if we stay at current pick) on an OL or maybe WR (we have a lot of needs). If they grab a stunning CB (although I don't think there are any in this draft that will fall to us) that's fine, but OL is really the biggest need. Josh has always papered over their weakness with his mobility.

McDermott, of course, will use the same basic scheme.  I don't really expect to see a lot less nickel alignment. The only change I realo expect is a somewhat higher number of blitzes.  I don't think McDermott is anything close to "blitz happy," but I think he is just a little more aggressive than Frazier.  Of course, I think he wants his front four to be a   lot more effective rushing the pastor than they were after Von Miller went down last season.  I think he knows it's not healthy to be in a position where you're so dependent on a single player like Miller.

Mighty unchristian of a team to "rush the pastor" LOL

Gotta say this is a moronic comment. Do stop watches run slower in Iowa?  Do rulers measure differently in Iowa?

This guy has a good 40 time and elite explosion numbers.

Im not saying this guy is as good as Brian Urlacher, but he’s similar size with BETTER testing numbers.

Note—Im not making this comp because they’re both white guys. Im making this comp because they are both tall athletic MLB, and Urlacher was the prototype for ideal MLB in a Cover 2.

The main measurement for LB is football smarts. Taking tackle angles and shedding blocks, I think.

    I agree.

My fear is these role player signings are going to let them justify drafting defensive players with premium picks.

The team desperately needs help at LB and CB and safety depth, not to mention a true run-stuffing DL and you don't want to use picks there?

Doyle is depth.  Bates and Brown are currently serviceable at best.  Morse could be done with another bad concussion.

If Beane doesn't address the OL as priority #1 then I don't know what they expect Josh Allen to do.

Bills lost today's game because Burrow had time to throw, and Josh didn't.  I will add their OC was much better than Dorsey.

Burrow had time due to scheme. Just like Brady did. Josh spent an hour looking for the home run. That needs to change.

Adjustments are made on a regular basis throughout the entire game. Certain things may get discussed more during halftime considering you have that 10-15 mins

Any good coordinator has contingencies ready. If this isn't working, we do this, or if go down 2 receivers, we do this and such. If they don't do this, they are idiots.

  13. I get your point, but all those things are part of a football game. The Bills have won games with turnovers as well. I don't discount them at all. The Dolphins played their hearts out and our D made a 3rd string QB look good. Style points don't matter, but the manner in which a game played can be somewhat predictive for how they will play in the next one. That worries many.
