Clowney has my vote. Still feel we need that pass rusher on the opposite side of Hughes

where are people getting their stats?
I said this int he other We Have the Best Defense thread.
TOTAL defense Net Total Yards Leaders the Bills are #7.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total/position/defense
Yards per game yes #1.
Total passing 4th and Per Pass Yds Per game 2nd
Rushing 14 and 12
Bills have played 1 more game then all those other teams, thus that's why they're in 7th. Baltimore is the only team with a real chance to be #1 after this week, the rest no way. The Bills D will be at least #2 after this upcoming weekend
-
I'd rather they give Cam Phillips a try from the practice squad first and get rid of Holmes
-
- Bills wins 5.5 - UNDER (Brutal 1st half of the schedule, then NE twice)
- Allen starts 12 - UNDER ( They ride out with Peterman until there eliminated from the playoff)
- McCoy rushing yards 1,150 - UNDER ( They shared his work load with Murphy and Ivory)
- Leading receiver yards 750 - OVER ( Benjamin will get over 750 but under 1000 )
- Leading receiver catches 65 - OVER ( Benjamin will have at least 70 )
- Total INTs 15 - UNDER ( Pass rush is still weak so not as many opportunities and opposing QB's are far better this year then last )
- Player with most INTs 4.5 - UNDER (See above)
- Player with most sacks 8.5 - OVER ( Hughes will step up with more help other other side )
- 1st win week 4 - OVER ( If 1st game at Balt is a loss (which I think it will be), Then Tenn in week 5 is next best chance)
- 1st 2019 draft pick number 6 - UNDER ( predicting only 4-5 wins so they be in the top 5 )
- Bills Pro Bowlers 1.5 - OVER ( Hyde will be back and Kyle Williams both mostly on reputations )
-
So the loss today is not the end of the world,
or season...
No it's not but today showed just like in the Carolina game that while Tyrod is an excellent athlete he is a pedestrian QB. He'll have some great throws but more often then not he will have throws where the receivers have to adjust so greatly that it causes the potential gains to be shorter then they really should be if they were on the mark, or in some cases don't even hit the mark at all. The defense as great as it's playing can only carry them so far.

I can relate...
Here's how I feel about the first seven games.
vs. NYJ....... W 24-21.... A game much closer than it should have been due to turnovers on offense. -Haushka ices the win with a FG in OT.
@ CAR........ L 17-37... The McCaff-back breaks some sort of record in this one. Our secondary also gets torched via Newton to Benjamin.
@ DEN........ L 17-31.... Broncs secondary gives Tyrod fits. -They pound the rock until our D-line rolls over and submits.
@ ATL....... L 20-45..... Matt Ryan can't be stopped. -Neither can Freeman. We put up a valiant fight until the 4th, when Ryan and Senor Julio take over.
@ CIN....... L 23-28….. A game we could have easily won… Dalton is sacked five times, and our ST produces a TD on a KR… Tyrod is chided for holding the ball, and missing open WR’s… Shady shows his frustration
in the after-game presser... TT is losing the locker room.
vs. TAM..... L 19-29.... The lack of points being scored leads to whispers of a "QB change"... A poor first half vs.TAM leads to cut-aways of Peterman warming up on the sidelines.... He never goes in.
vs. OAK..... L 24-33.... Khalil and Marshawn celebrate their WNY "homecoming" by laying waste to all in their path.... A late comeback only adds to Bills fan's misery.
That's how I see things starting out... Let's hope I'm WAAAAAY off!
I totally agree and don't feel you're way off. The debating on whether 4-12 is too low is really insane to me because I can't see them being any better then 8-8 even if somethings went their way. So why have/want them be in the middle of the draft as usual instead of the top of the draft?? I'm hoping their predictions are pretty accurate because we'd be a top 4 and KC would be in the middle

Saw a Browns reporter say he could be traded to Buffalo along with a 4th round pick, in a swap where Buffalo moves down to pick #12 and Cleveland gets pick #10.

Looks like we get a 6th round compensatory pick in the '17 draft for losing Nigel Bradham to the Eagles.
http://overthecap.com/2017-compensatory-draft-picks-update-5102016/
One nugget to remember for this offseason........if the Bills decide to let Gilmore walk they will likely receive a 3rd round comp. pick in '18 if he signs a deal north of $10M per. I think this is a big part of the equation in the discussion of whether it is worth it or not to resign Gilmore. When you factor in a free 3rd round draft pick in '18 if he walks it makes me want to see the Bills let him walk. Until we find a QB I don't think any player on defense should be making big $$$. Let's take the extra pick. Robert Woods would likely give us a 4th or 5th if he leaves via FA as well. a 4th if he signs for $7M + per year, a 5th if it's in the $5.5-$7M per year range (which is prob. more likely)
So Bills will have:
#1
#2
#3
#5
#5 (from Dallas)
#6
#6 (comp. for Bradham)
The comp pick theory that you have for Sammy and the rest only work if we don't sign any other teams free agents that would offset that. There have been numerous years were we thought we'd be getting comp picks but we received none because the free agents we signed offset the ones we lost

Writer from the Buffalo News enough said. Gaughan, Sullivan, Gleason and Graham all aren't worth reading and are one of the many reasons I cancelled my subscription

Looks like Brandt corrected his comment:
Ragland has a lot of the same physical qualities as David Harris, who played extremely well for Rex Ryan when Ryan was with the Jets. I expect Ragland to fill the Harris role under Ryan in Buffalo. The SEC Defensive Player of the Year had 102 tackles and seven pass breakups in 2015. The latter stat is important, because one of the things you worry about with someone who has Ragland's 4.72 speed is the ability to cover tight ends and running backs -- but that was something Ragland clearly was able to do in college. He has very good instincts and strength, and he's an outstanding tackler. When he gets to 'em, they go down. He's also a great character person. I expect him to rack up 100-plus tackles and help improve Buffalo's defense in a major way.

Decided to spend the $5.95 so I could do trades ( hell it's a price of a coffee ). Here's what I got when I did it..

The thing that made me the maddest is even though they played terrible throughout most of the game they scored and were down by only 6. A touchdown could win it for you, so all the Defense has to do is stop them and give it back to your Offense. And what happens!?!?! you let Jennings score a 51 yd touchdown on a 3rd and 3. Bradham makes that tackle we get the ball back.

Antenna reception is OK but limited. Channel 29 (Fox) comes in the best and Channel 4 (CBS) is was just OK for me ( little fuzzy ), for what it's worth
-
I don't know about the ranking, but AccuScore says they are going to be last in the division with a 4-12 record. It predicts the following:
Miami 11-5
NE 10-6
NY Jets 6-10
Buffalo 4-12
What a joke !!!!

Thanks .. I did a search of Tyrod & draft and Tyrod & combine but didn't get a hit.. not sure why .. Much thanks
-
Interesting read on Tyrod from Hard Foul Sports. But more interesting was the ESPN combine/draft video of Tyrod. It was very inciteful and makes me want me to succeed even more. The video is long but worth it. Saddest part is in the video he wanted to get pick by San Fran or Buffalo, which of course neither did. And even worse was when we pick Johnny White in 4th round instead of him.
-
per Adam Schefter ...
Former Clemson OT Isaiah Battle goes in 5th round of NFL Supplemental draft to...St. Louis Rams.
-
But that was only because we had pretty significant pressure from the front 4.
And your reasoning that the front 4 will not be getting significant pressure next year is ???
-
Not only do both teams have an excellent DT, why in the hell would they just sign Suh themselves??
Offensive Line by Committee? Chris Brown obtained my permission to run with the idea. #Versatility #FergyHasSpoken
