He changed position, and turned out to be excellent at that new position. Whether he's versatile or not, he makes plays. I remember when GB let Paup go, and the word out of GB was that he was too "one-dimensional." After he tore up the league in 1995, I remember Ron Jaworski saying, "yeah, he's got one dimension, and that dimension is 'great.'"

But after Paup's great season the next 2 were pedestrian compared to that one especially with Bruce Smith and then the bIlls let him walk.  So I guess I don't know what the point your trying to make is.  He went from 17.5 to 6 to 9.5 to gone to JAX

So who and at what cost are picking up two defensive linemen, blocking TE, and speed WR?  If anyone suggest cuts which will happen, they’ll need to be replaced, so who they and what is the cost to each one?  Remember there currently are only 8 draft picks, and you need at minimum $7 mil. For the draft, then another $5 mil.  for an emergency fund in case of injuries.  That’s $12 mil. there and we just came up in Spotrac as $6 mil. over.  I don’t know why the flip from being $2.6 under just two days ago.

Brown didn’t look healthy when he came back from his injuries.  Only staff truly knows if he is still battling the knee/ankle injuries?  I’m not a big fan of cutting a player who were as valuable in 2019 with over 1,000 yards, and we don’t know if he can get back to form in 2021 with rest and rehab.

Ill grant you the others are just guys.  I had high hopes for Jefferson, but I’ll grant you both were just guys.  The coaches seemed to think there is value in Smith, although I don’t see it.  I wholeheartedly agree an improvement from our TE grouping is needed to get to the next level.

I appreciate the thoughtfulness, and I wasn’t picking on you, it’s just cut someone you have to replace them.  Don’t worry, there will be 25 other guys doing something similar.  I’d love if someone wants to cut people, the place in who they would add tha t are free agents, the potential costs as you can easily find on otc or spotrac, and what is the net cap as a result.

I know I can’t do it, nor would I spend the time, and if I did it would get picked apart.  You made a nice effort though so I appreciate it.

I agree about the speed needed at receiver but evaluating what Brown did this year I just don't see the justification for the almost $10,000,000 salary.  The offense didn't seem to be hindered that much with him out,  so while he's a good receiver he's not a $10,000,000 receiver.  With Diggs, Beasley, Davis, MacKenzie, and Isiah Hodgins on IR  all year they should be fine.  As for the rest, like you said they were just guys.  For me to lose the Brown contract to sign a Matt Milano is a no brainer

  6. The Bills can free up $25,250,000 easily and  without any real ramifications to the team but releasing 4 players and it would only be a  $2,600,000 cap hit,

Player            Cap Number    Dead Money    Cap Savings
    ------            ----------    ----------    -----------
    John Brown        $9,750,000    $1,600,000    $8,150,000
    Vernon Butler        $7,850,000    $1,000,000    $6,850,000
    Quint Jefferson        $8,000,000    $0000000    $8,000,000
    Lee Smith        $2,250,000    $0000000    $2,250,000

I agree King Henry is dangerous but it's interesting that he didn't do great in Green Bay with the weather but it could be the Titans fell behind early.

Heck with Green Bay,  the Bills kept Henry in check in the game we lost..  He only had 57 yds on 19 carries.  The turnovers killed us in that game.  If they keep playing like they are now I'm not concerned.

  9. I don't have a problem with the run D, this issue is usually 1 or 2 bad runs given up in the last 5 or 6 games that skew the stats.  Last night it was a 29 yd run by Sony Michel and a 28 yd run by JJ Taylor.  If you turn those 57yds into what should have been a  5-6 yd gain at most then the Pats would've had about a 100 yds.  If they  can eliminate those bad plays they should be fine

Two weeks ago this looked like a possibility. But Pitt needed to beat the Bengals. Pittsburgh just hopes they don't lose out at this point. They have two tough games left. Browns may actually take the division. Anyone know if it is possible the Steelers could slip to the 7th seed? I think Ravens would have to not ,make it in that scenario which means Bills would have to lose week 17 to the Dolphins. But what are the tie breakers with Miami and Pitt? And could we have the #2 seed locked up before the Miami game? That would require the Titans to lose this week to the Packers I think?

    Pittsburgh for sure.

Just us beating NE and Pitt losing to Indi.  If this happens then #2 seed is locked and Miami game is meaningless.  Doesn't matter what the other teams do.

This list makes no sense.  Why do NFC games have to do with us getting the number one seed in the AFC?

Also, we can’t get the number one seed.  First tie breaker is head to head, if applicable.  We were beaten by KC, best we can do is tie them if we win out and they lose out.  They still win the tie breaker.

So this is a mute point, best we can finish is the 2 seed now.

Head to head doesn't matter if there are more then 2 teams tied and not all the teams played each other.  Thus we need to be tied with KC and Pitt. The rest have to do with strength of schedule and nuances like that

  12. While KC has the number 1 seed virtually locked, there is one scenario where the Bills can still get the number seed which involves the Bills, KC and Pitt all finishing 13-3.  It would have to happen as follows:

1.)  Bills would need these NFC South to lose in week 17
New Orleans vs Minnesota, Tampa Bay vs Detroit, Carolina vs Washington
2.)  Tennessee Titans to beat the Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans
3.)  Baltimore Ravens lose both of their remaining games
    4.)  Indianapolis Colts lose Pittsburg
5.)  Arizona Cardinals lose both of their remaining two games
6.)  Atlanta Falcons beat the KC Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
7.)  Miami Dolphins beating the Las Vegas Raiders
8.)  Cincinnati Bengals beating Houston Texans
9.)  NY Jets beating the Cleveland Browns
10.) LA Chargers beating the Denver Broncos and KC Chiefs

That goofy Nick Wright slobbers all over Mayfield. Not taking anything away from Mayfield, he did me a solid trashing the Titans. Wright and Brandon Marshall got heated about which QB is better. Wright sunk his own argument saying Mayfield was better because of Cleveland's running game, and I'm like dude, you automatically showed which is the better QB. Allen hasn't had that same running game to fall back on, and compared to previous years, he hasn't run as much. All up to this point, the identity of this offense has all been Allen passing the ball

Maybe a Bills homer and while winning Player of the Week is truly no measure of how good a QB is there is only 1 QB who has won it more then Josh Allen and he's tied with another.  They are ... The last 2 QBs that won the AFC MVP awards ... Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes.  Below is a list of all the QBs and the times they won POW since 2018.

       6 Lamar Jackson
       5 Patrick Mahomes
       5 Josh Allen
       4 Deshaun Watson
       4 Russell Wilson
       3 Ben Roethlisberger
       3 Dak Prescott
       3 Drew Brees
       3 Kyler Murray
       3 Ryan Fitzpatrick
       2 Aaron Rodgers

       1 Jacoby Brissett
       1 Jameis Winston

He was ranked 115th out of 116 eligible CBs by PFF.  Just because a guy was drafted in the 1st round doesn't mean he isn't immune to being terrible.

He struggled mightily in the beginning of his rookie season,  but since you reference PFF you  might have missed this then ....

Since the Giants bye week, DeAndre Baker has the 6th best coverage grade among all qualified CB’s over the last 4 games. In this same time period, QB’s targeting Baker are completing just 26.3% of their passes, the lowest percentage targeting any CB

So he was starting to turn it around

    It is real good timing.

Tua has played well, but I expect some bumps in the road for the rookie.

I'm not sure the division means as much with the new playoff format and covid restrictions at the stadiums.

Advancing to the 2nd round requires beating teams we will have to beat regardless.

I would say Tua has just played efficiently, While he has 5 TD's he is only averaging 138 yds passing and has 34 total yds rushing.  The defense and special teams has been carrying them during this stretch more then anything else.  Can they keep it up, who knows, that's how the Bills lived last season.  Their next 2 games as almost gimmes ( nothing is guaranteed ), then they have Cincinnati and the start of a tough 4 games to end it including the finale with us

Sadly they are building a team to be reckoned with. They have come a far way since gase

No they won’t. Already beat the chargers and both the Broncos and Jets are train wrecks. Bills might not even win the division and if they don’t watch out they might not make they playoffs if the Raiders stay hot and the titans do too since they have

a game in hand with the win
