was just about to say the same. I’ve been there more than once and it usually feels like a home game for us too.

2 for 10 on challenges this year. Imagine if McD was 2 for 10.

Von Miller faces arrest in domestic violence case in Dallas
BRH replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the guy was any good anymore I would have to seriously question any police reports coming out of Dallas two weeks before we play the Cowboys. I also have to question whether the report would have been made public by the Dallas police department if the accused were, say, Micah Parsons. And if it had happened in Buffalo, I'm not sure we hear about it at all (except for rumors). So pardon my cynicism about whether the right thing is gonna get done here. The fact that Tyreek Hill, Adrian Peterson, Joe Mixon, Tyrel Dodson, et al ad infinitum ad nauseam have been allowed to continue playing means only one thing: if the team will be better after cutting Von, they will cut him. If cutting Von will hurt the team, they won't cut him. Period. The Bills unfortunately are no different from any other team in the league, despite all the eyewash about "culture." -
McD on late game decisions - "Hindsight is always 20/20"
BRH replied to HomeskillitMoorman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bingo. You have one of the best quarterbacks in the world at your disposal and the message you’re sending him is “thanks, but my defense has got this.” I’m sure he was thinking about things that could go wrong during those 20 seconds ….strip sack, pick, etc. So instead of winning he coached not to lose. And then he lost. Again. We have lost games in the past with Josh having the ball in his hands …Tennessee comes to mind. But we’ve won more games with him having the ball in his hands at the end than we have relying on the defense to close it out. McDermott will never change. And we will never take the next step with him in charge. It took a long time for me to get to this point. That’s why I’m so confident in what I just said. -
Instead of going for the end zone on 3rd and 6… why didn’t we run a play that would have put us in fourth and manageable — between 1-3 yards to go — so that we could give ourselves a chance to convert the first down and at least run more time off the clock? And instead of going for the end zone with 1:54 left in regulation, why didn’t we try to make the first down, stop short of the goal line, run the clock down and then punch it in? Answer: McDermott trusted “his” defense more than he trusted his elite quarterback. When he had absolutely no reason to.

He’s almost run out of guys to scapegoat and fire. Daboll, Dorsey, Frazier, Crossman, Farwell, maybe Smiley soon…. Every departure strips him of another buffer/excuse. Now he’s starting to blame the players. He always says it starts with him, but then manages to list a bunch of other factors. I cannot forgive him for not giving Josh a chance at the end of regulation. That’s when he lost me for good, and probably a bunch of players as well.

And this is why I basically said in another thread that it's mind-blowing that McD blew those two timeouts and sat on the ball with 20 seconds left in regulation because he trusted his D to make a stop in OT more than he trusted Josh to make a play.... and why he let Brady/Josh go for the TD with 1:54 left rather than try to wind the clock down and then score. At the end of the game, the ball needs to be in the hands of your best player.

There has to be a stat on that somewhere. What's McDermott's winning percentage when leading by less than one score or tied when the other team has the ball in the last two minutes of regulation? I will bet anything it's one of the worst in the league. Prove me wrong.
-
Yeah, you know what I say to that? McDermott called two timeouts and then kneeled on the ball with 20 seconds left in regulation because he trusted his defense -- with Dodson -- DODSON -- spying Hurts -- to make a stop in OT more than he trusted Josh to make a play. I want a HC who's willing to let his elite QB do elite QB things at the end of football games. And by the "end" of football games, I also mean trusting him enough to wind the clock down as far as possible before punching the ball into the end zone. Leaving the Eagles 1:54 to score a FG yesterday -- when you actually had room to gain the first down before scoring -- was idiotic. Compounding the idiocy by kneeling on the time they left you.... unforgivable.
