Which of the seven #1 overalls are you counting as successes? You could make the argument that only Eli Manning has really panned out. Perhaps Palmer, but for as much talent as he has had on his side of the ball, he really hasn't done all that much and I wouldn't count him among the league's elite. Vick...well, you don't pick a guy #1 to go to jail for two years. That leaves Couch, Alex Smith, Russell and Carr. I think the chances might be more like 14-86 or 28-72. You're right, that's a pretty grim list.

Howard and Jeremy did make a good point after the JW conversation, though. Something along the lines of the reason we don't know what the plans are yet is that Ralph knows that the minute those plans are released, he'll be pushed out. Makes sense to me... I mean, as bad as the team has been, you can just picture people saying, "Oh, you found a buyer who'll keep the team here? Good. Thanks, man. By the way, why wait til you're dead? Sell it now." And given that RW is already on record as saying the team "gives him a reason to get up in the morning" (notwithstanding that he's the ONLY person this team does that for), I can see why he wouldn't want to give it up just yet.
