  1. Well, now we can't complain that the media is ignoring us
  2. If this thread goes on long enough someone is bound to spell Matt Leinart's last name correctly when referring to Jim Leonhard.
  3. I am in favor of the offense's execution.
  4. Your choice of that lyric from "He's Gone" was absolutely perfect, sir.
  5. So many that I agree with. Here's one that probably slips under most radars: the 44-34 victory over the Fish that put us in the AFC championship against the Raiders - in other words, the game the week before 51-3. I remember that one because Kelly was coming back from an injury and cornerback Tim McKyer, who had taunted the Bills two weeks before during their last regular-season meeting with "the Bills without Jim Kelly are like a hand without a thumb" -- only to get a beating from Frank Reich -- shot his stupid mouth off again. "I challenge Jim Kelly to throw my way," McKyer said. The first time the Bills got the ball, Kelly & Co. marched right down the field and capped it with a TD pass to James Lofton....over McKyer. Just loved beating the Fish back then because they always, always yapped, and almost never could back it up. Like Steve Tasker said after one such game, "Don't write a check with your mouth that your body can't cash."
  6. I actually prefer Marv's fight song.
  7. Well, anyone who doesn't think Matthews is headed for a steroid suspension sooner or later is kidding himself.
  8. And where are we saying that?
  9. I love that EJ didn't even respond to Sheldon Richardson Typical Jets yapping
  10. And Todd Collins went to Michigan and that worked out great for us! Kidding... I agree with your point, to a point.
  11. There are no words. But I bet I can guess what ethnic stereotype HE fit.
  12. Anyone who thinks the clock doesn't run out on that play in Foxboro, raise your hand. Thought so.
  13. Classic!
  14. Jests fans spit on me the only time I ever went to a game at the Meadowlands. I can't say I didn't deserve it though. That was the game in '91 when Kelly hit Thurman with the game-winning TD pass with 11 seconds left. After behaving myself most of the game, I couldn't help it - I turned around, raised my arms to the crowd, and pointed at my Bills shirt. When I sat down, my Jets fan friend had his head in his hands, going, "I can't believe you turned around." That's when the spit rained down, on both of us. I was lucky my friend was willing to drive me home after the game. Mostly what I remember was a lot of Giants fans who couldn't get season tickets to their own team, and one loud Jests fan who kept screaming, a bit pathetically, "We want our own stadium!"
  15. Ok I don't like that stat anymore. Thanks though!
  16. I keep reading that EJ is the fifth rookie QB since 1960 to lead a fourth-quarter comeback in either his first or second NFL game. None of the articles says who the other four were. Does anyone here know? Not that it matters much... but it would be nice if a few of them were guys we've heard of.
  17. As for AW, us old-timers (sort of) remember Leonard Smith. 46 hit hard, early, late and often and though there were times I wished he would have played the ball and not the man, he definitely had receivers hearing footsteps. That's the kind of safety you need. It was a dumb and costly play but you know what? Given the dumb and costly plays this team has made over the years that didn't even get the other guy's jersey dirty, I can live with it once in awhile.
  18. Oh god here we go again!
  19. If Saban gets in, will Ralph do the introduction? I see what you did there.
  20. When we ran the K-Gun back in the day, Kelly was still one of the best in the business at chewing up clock at the end of a game. We'd get the ball with 7 minutes left and the game was over. I honestly do not remember if we huddled more in that situation, but as someone pointed out earlier, huddling isn't the issue. It's using the play clock. Get to the line of scrimmage, then wind the play clock down. Not to one second every time, though. Snap it at five, one, three, whatever. That allows you to reach into your bag of tricks from time to time to get the defense to jump offside, the way Kelly used to do and the way Brady did yesterday. It wasn't the lack of huddling. It was the lack of both execution and experience. EJ will get there.
  21. Brandon went to Fisher.
  22. There was a penalty. I can't remember what it was now but it made it 2nd down again instead of 3rd. The cameras never showed the ref making the call but it was announced.
  23. I was going to say I loved our clock management for once because we saved all our timeouts. Then we go out and piss our last drive away in ten seconds. Pitiful. Just pitiful.
  24. !@#$ this. Winners win and losers lose.
