I was referencing the dolphins collapse as tua probably not going to be someone they can market

Oh gotcha, was just wondering what Tua had anything to do with it.

would you say the bengals were fantastic for prime ocho?

Completely wasted may be dramatic phrasing but also as a guy that left Minnesota to try to get a ring…. He’s still on a team that hasn’t been at the top.

he’s not looking for a top ten season from his team. It’s a window where the expectation is to play a game or two in February

All competitors want that but I just think "wasted" is melodramatic as you point out.  It's kind of depressing if you think of every NFL career that ends without a SB ring (and in this case, he's got multiple good years left) as wasted, because that would describe a pretty large majority of careers, even amongst the subset of players who were at one point top 5 at their positions.

  3. I get a kick out of people with .01% of the football knowledge of an NFL coordinator who try to suggest X and O concepts.  As if some intern is going to come across this thread and sprint to McDermott's office to tell him that the Steelers will try to run the ball and, oh, by the way, nobody showed up to Mason Rudolph's birthday party.

"So you have no frame of reference, Donny.  You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie."

  4. Somehow it must be human nature to take things that are hugely multi-faceted and try boiling them down to one factor.  What itch does it scratch to determine which aspect of the Patriots dynasty really mattered?  They all mattered. (Including being the luckiest team in the playoffs over and over, but that's neither here nor there...)

A couple years ago when we eviscerated the Pats in the playoffs the thing people don't acknowledge is that that was a 3-14 quality roster than went 10-7.

Just listen to anyone in the actual football world talk about Belichick.  They revere him, including those who have good reasons to hate him.

    Agreed.

Tell you a team destined for continued mediocrity, Tennesse Titans.  As bad as Bud Addams was (a la Ralph Wilson at the end) his dughter is even more inept, firing Mike Vrable who will be picked up in a nano-second.  Followed closely behind are the Carolina Panthers and NY Jets.  Somehow the Browns have yet to blow up this year.

I also enjoy that apparently she could have traded Vrabel but chose not to because it would "take too long" and they'd miss out on their first choice for HC.  As if any of the best HC candidates are attracted to the Titans' current batch of non-assets.

He's kind of right, but not entirely.  One of the issues with the up and down win-loss roller coaster during Dorsey's final games was putting handcuffs  and leg shackles on Josh. Josh has got to be Josh. He's not Kurt Warner. Yes, he has to be conventional and trust his receivers, but he's not a classic pocket passer and I doubt he ever will be.

The weird thing is he played exactly one game, Week 1 vs the Rams last season, as a timing route pocket passer and then it just never happened again.
