It's partly the "the backup QB is the most popular guy on the team" and his first-ever drive.
That is the best reply...you hit it right there.
The wanna be scouts out here want to think Trent is the second coming of Montana or Brady are just the typical fan who always loves the backup. Not ever really assessing his ability or lack there of.

He's not JP, who was the antichrist because he couldn't make chicken salad with chicken shiit. And now JP's on his way out of town, which is probably best for everyone.
Trent make his legend off of his first-ever drive against the Pats last year. And it carried him for a long time.
So the love for Trent is that he is not JP

This is not to be a Trent bashing post, nor a JP vs. Trent.
There seems to be so much passion from many posters here in favor of Trent. Please identify why this guy gets so much love.
I dont see it.
He has no arm to stretch the field
He possess poor judgement
He is average aginst to mediorce team
He is poor againt the good teams
He doesnt play well in the Buffalo elements
Please help me understand we the love is coming from.

I have been hearing a lot of calls to bench Trent and even talk that he is not out future QB. It's only his second year for goodness sake. Despite throwing 3 INTS we still had chance to win in the end. Bad play calling on the last three plays cost us this game. How many QBS do you know of in their second year play flawless football? Everyone seems to forget that we are finally starting to turn the corner from being horrible the past 8 years. We have had a huge meltdown the past month but we would not even be .500 right now if we got rid of Trent or played Losman. We need to start buliding the line on both sides. That's the key. All great teams of today have sured up their offensive and defensive lines. That's our problem. We are only a few big guys away from ending these missed playoff seasons.
Would you rather be a 5-5 team or a 3-7 team like the last decade? People expect too much. YOu can't win all the time. We are heading in the right direction but it takes time. Teams take 3 to 4 years to rebuild. We are only in the second year of that process. I promise you, be patient. We are finally forming into a team that is capable of winning a SB in the next couple years.
The love for this guy has got to stop. I remember a rookie QB playing well in his first game, at home against a sub par team throwing for two tds, yet when he goes on the road to play against one of the leagues best defense, he is told if he doesnt play well he will be benched. Needless to say he was benched. AFTER HIS SECOND GAME. Edwards has cost us any chance at a playoff run with his play over the last four weeks. High Fives all around. He's our guy.

Coaching DID NOT lose this game. The beloved #5 lost the game. If #7 was behind center in a game like this tonight this board would have been flooded with Its #7 fault. #7 didnt look for his receivers and settled and ultimately #7 lost the game. You think Turk called 5 wide passing plays just to dump off to Lynch.
If BEAST MODE didnt show up #5 would have been 0td 3int.
4 minutes to go in the game and at their 35 #5 throws to Lynch, Throws to Lynch, Throws to Lynch, Punt.
Enough with this guy...

the guy put us in position to win, even tho he played horrible the whole game....unfortunately our chicken sh-- coaches refused to allow them to attempt to get closer....
Get real....Leodis and the Running Game put us in position to win. Aside from the piss poor play calling at the end of the game...I have to give the coaching staff credit for not abandoning the run...
What did Trent do besides throw to Lynch in the flat ALL NIGHT LONG.

What are the excuses now...There is no way that piece of sh-- team should have been in this game. #5 decided to give the game away. If it wasnt by the First Pick , then it was by the second, or maybe the third, or maybe it was his acclaimed accurate dump offs. Everyone said JP needed to throw the dump offs well you got it. Lets ask Lee Evans (highest paid cardio trainer) how much he likes the dump off.
***TRENT SUCKS*** Period. Enough of this crap from you Trent lovers. He sucked in High School and he sucks in the pros.

They do....remember the Welker play last week. The Cheats ran down field and snapped it right away. Then again Skelator just dropped the challenge flag.
