I could give you a great many examples of why people don't like him but I highly doubt its worth another second of my time.

Why do you love him so much?  Has he saved a bus load of orphans from certain doom? Has he cured lethal disease?

I thought he performed at a high level for the Packers for years and when the Bills were out of it, I enjoyed watching him play.

McD apologists will let you know Farwell wasn't fired, his contract came up and we didn't renew it. Frasier wasn't fired either, he simply 'took a year off' with apparently 1 year left on his contract.

Have any other of the long tenured head coaches fired this many coordinators and only seen 1 coordinator sniped to be HC by a different team?

True and even if Daboll didn't get a HC job he wasn't coming back to work with McDermott after 0:13.

he fires a coordinator every year?

he brings in more senior guys every year?

    It rotates

    Farwell was canned in 2021

    Fraiser was canned in 2022

    Dorsey was canned in 2023

    Smiley was canned in 2024

    Expect Babich gone next offseason.

Position assistance are always a revolving door, sometimes they hire veteran coaches, sometimes they hire new guys.

i think mcd did his best job yet this past season.  he got the team closer to chip than he ever has, the team had real talent and injury issues, and even got into a little hole early at 3-2.

he's also made moves, special team and defensive coaching changes, and quickly, after the season ended.  he's never done anything close to bold before on the coaching front, so this is a bit of a watershed moment for him.

he will be accountable for his hand picked GM and his own performance this next season.  he's got to get to the bowl, and imo win it all to solidify himself.  as posted above in this thread, if he goes two more seasons as hc he's the longest tenured coach to never make a bowl next to marvin lewis.  given allen's historic greatness, and the d's total and pitiful collapse time and time again, his list of excuses will simply run out.  this isn't any kind of fair or whatever, but it never will be, it's NFL football where ray lewis is celebrated as some kind of moral paragon and frank reich is struggling to get back to his prior level of employment.  mcdermott can either be an all timer coach, or a bust off marvin lewis clone who squandered the greatest qb to play the game.  it's not fair, it's winner take all.

    He does that every year

I do believe he's gone if they don't get to a SB next season and/or lose to KC. It's business related.

Those psl's need to be sold. And fans won't pony up money for an underachieving team held back by the HC/D.

Back to $20 tix before kickoff

So before they had established themselves they were hiring by a non last place team?  What has run its course?  Go back to finheaven already.  Dolphins suck dude.

The Dolphins' sucking is one reason our light defensive line and soft zone defense work well during the regular season but struggle in the playoffs. It's only been nine years, and people often bring up that Beane and McDermott took over a tire fire, when the team was close to being good. If you swap Tyrod with Josh that team would be in the same position this team is in.

I don't buy that Beane or McDermott team building or game day philosophies will change. Its been 9 years and the one constant is a terrible dline. I don't see that changing.

The Ravens won despite Billick, not because of him and he never got another job after the Ravens, despite having a SB on his resume.

Did he want one or did he just take a job at NFL Network that still paid well with almost none of the stress or long nights in the office?

I agree with that...but at some point I think Josh will have enough of this. I don't think it will be until he demands a trade, I think it'll be when he goes into Terry's office and tells him he needs to fire this coach.

Other top QB's don't consistently lose playoff game that they play really well in. It has to wear on him.

I think he's more likely he refuses to sign an extension, Beane trades him to get a haul, he misses on every pick, we go 3-14, everyone gets fired and its back to the dark ages.

Only ONE team wins it all, so every other season was a failure? I don’t buy into that. It was disappointing, but I can’t call it a failure.

Every team operates on a different timeline. When you have a 28-year-old franchise quarterback who hasn't been to a Super Bowl, failing to reach the Super Bowl constitutes a failure for the season. It’s not just about the loss itself, but also how we lost: we were undermanned, out-schemed, showcased a soft defense, came out flat, and gave them an early lead. I don’t expect things to change moving forward.

Did Beane and McDermott build the Super Bowl Contender from a last place team?

We weren't in last place with Rex as our coach. They were an 8-8 & 7-9 team, then improved to 9-7. Statistically, there was little difference among the seasons of 2015, 2016, and 2017. The change in discipline, leadership & Andy Daltons heroism was enough to secure a wildcard spot, but that success has since run its course.

He trimmed most of the fat of the roster last year offseason and the bills still made it to the AFC ship after everyone was picking them to be last place.

    Who added that fat?

The are both considered top candidates, they would have multiple good teams vying for them.

Yes, they would be top candidates and I would wish them well. After 8 years I no longer billieve they will build and coach a team capable of making a Super Bowl. They can take their undersized dline and soft zone elsewhere and hope they hit on another QB.

Correct.  Even Philly - such as WR Jalen Reagor (21st overall in 2020) and T Andre Dillard (22nd overall in 2019).

No one bats 1.000 but you do hope they hit over the Mendoza line.

The Bills have been one of the best teams since Beane and McDermott got here. I doubt Beane would stay here as a puppet GM. If he left the Bills, he would be unemployed for about 5 seconds. Same with McDermott. I am sure McDermott has input and both of them have had numerous conversations on improving the team. But as the GM Beane has the final say on building the roster. As I mentioned I don't think he would stay to be a puppet GM for Sean.

Just because Beane & McDermott would get jobs with last place teams isn’t a reason for a super bowl contender to keep them.

  12. I’m pumped! Mixing international travel with the Bills is great. I had a blast at the London game

Wouldn't shock me if they're trying to make betting legal worldwide. I believe it's only legal to bet on nfl in the US, though I could be totally wrong about this

You are. Sports betting has been popular in the UK & EU long before it was legal outside of Vegas here.

I mean he was pacing 45 for like 850 yds and 6 tds as a rookie.

He looked pretty dominant vs the Titans and Seahawks

5/70/1 against Seattle isn't exactly dominant. He did look good against TN, but so did the rest of the league. He did show flashes but at no point did anyone say “Oh man, this guy is going is be our WR1 for a while”
