Does it seem that way? I have no problem with people disagreeing with what I write. What's frustrating is when people get angry because of what they think I'm trying to say and put words in my mouth. Me calling the Bills' approach to the draft "curious" or "risky" doesn't mean I'm bashing it. But there's an awfully large inferiority complex out there that causes people to take a defensive stance before they're done reading the headline let alone the story. Defending myself against erroneous interpretations gets tiresome.

I will agree with you on the videos. My pet peeve is when they start playing even though you didn't click the play button.

About 1 percent of our content is Insider, and you can get a subscription for about $3 a year if you look for it.

With all these other options out there, I guess we need to renew our monopoly mission. Damn all this free information and differing viewpoints!

I was house shopping and traveling on Monday. I haven't heard anything but will have some lines in the water tomorrow.

I would think that as the draft gets into the later rounds and the chances of a guy making the team get longer, a coach would have more say. At that point, he has a better handle on what type of prospect would have the best chance to make the roster.
-
I mentioned his name a couple times yesterday, too. He's on the Bills' radar.

After the Denver Post reported the Broncos wouldn't trade Scheffler, looks like they might after all. Reports are circulating talks with Philly have heated up again.

I didn't pass judgment on anything. I'm not tripping over myself to label this a great draft. If that's being a hater, then I guess we define our terms differently. When that's the case there's no basis for discussion.

If you read my posts, you'll see I wasn't negative. In one blog I said what the Bills did was risky. In another I said it was curious. I didn't pass judgment at all. Sometimes, risky is good. Gambles pay off now and then.

I didn't have as much time to hang around TSW as much as I wanted to. But I will say that Scheffler was an impossibility as of Friday night. The Broncos decided to keep him.

Sorry I couldn't stick around longer, but my hunch was right. For those who weren't there, I was nervous that I would have to sprint over to the Bills headquarters if an AFC East trade went down. I told the guys I felt comfortable enough to stay through four picks because I feared the Jets would trade for the No. 5 pick. Wish I could have hung around for a while.

No chat today. I'm visiting the folks in Ohio, and they live in Amish country. My air card is highly unreliable out here. It would make for a maddening chat with my signal getting dropped every 10 minutes. I'm not hearing any Kelsay rumblings at the moment, but I've been traveling the past couple days (flew to Buffalo on Thursday for some house shopping, drove to Ohio today). But stay tuned.

STATS Inc. is a subscription service and is reputable. It's partly owned by the Associated Press. ESPN doesn't subscribe to STATS, choosing instead Elias Sports Bureau, but Elias doesn't do sacks allowed.

"All over" his post? I fail to see how I'm "all over" anything on this thread. Maybe you can post my big rant within this thread so I have an idea of what you're referring to.

I'm just sharing what my insiders tell me. Larsen ... then Sheldon Jackson ... then Sape.

The uncapped year is confusing to many, and I'm in that lot. Much like the NHL lockout when I covered the Sabres, I'll become an expert on it eventually, but right now there are so many wacky hypothetical stipulations that can arise, few people know what's really going to happen if a new CBA doesn't get hammered out.

These numbers come from STATS Inc.
-
I think the selection committee needs to correct the injustice of Leif Larsen not being in the Hall before they can induct Sape.

I don't know what the official paperwork filed with the league says, but I've been told that it's an unconditional sixth rounder.

He was a little embarrassed but glad to make a friend he could talk hockey with. I still run into him when I drop by there. -

I just took a glance at the mailbag and have to say you guys came through strong ... in a short period of time ... on a Sunday. I'm speechless. Looks like a two-part blog for sure. Thank you so much for the responses. -

I'd have to agree here. Richmond Webb hasn't gotten close to the Hall of Fame. -

I was in the Big Tree after a Bills game when I covered them during the NHL lockout. I had just walked in, and before I can sit down the bartender gives me a beer from a guy on the other side of the bar. I look over, the guy waves at me and I have no clue who it is. I wave back and yell out a thank you. Then I buy him one. Over the next three hours, the guy buys me maybe four drinks but never comes over. So before I leave I swing by to thank him and shake his hand. I say "I'm sorry, but I have to admit I'm not sure I know you." He says "Nah, but I watch you all the time." Taking note of my puzzled expression, he says "You are Paul Peck, right?" -
Now that we've had three days to digest it and have heard from Jason Peters at his introductory news conference in Philly, I'm looking for reaction from Bills fans on the whole saga. I've been reading the back-and-forth discussions, but if you had to sum up your feelings in one entry for ESPN, what would you say? Please send your thoughts to my AFC East mailbag: http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/mailbagESPN?event_id=21506 Be sure to include your REAL first name, e-mail address and location. The e-mail address remains private, but it allows me to write back to you directly with any questions, or let you know if there's a reason I can't use your take. No profanity or wishes that certain people drop dead, please. So tell me what you think. Did the Bills get robbed? Is Peters overrated? Did the Eagles overpay? Much like I did with the Terrell Owens signing, I'm going to compile the best responses into one or two blogs, depending on the turnout: http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-6-41/...al--Part-1.html http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-6-48/...al--Part-2.html Thanks in advance to those who contribute. I look forward to reading and sharing your thoughts.
