  1. I like Pacquiao in this one. Could be a classic. Glad you appreciated my poetic license. If I still were writing for a newspaper, that word would probably never would have made it into print. I try to have fun when I write. Editors don't always agree, but at ESPN.com they give us a lot of literary freedom.
  2. I'm not on Twitter yet. I'm still trying to figure out if I like it.
  3. Get all of the major papers together and insist they start charging for local content. Not much, maybe a few cents per story and force the government to enforce copyright laws like they did against Napster.
  4. Oh, I forgot about that guy. Buffalo all the way.
  5. So you take a shot at me for not having a definitive response and you can't even come up with definitive parameters? But if you need an answer I'll say Buffalo with absolutely no basis for that opinion. A pure guess, which makes for compelling conversation.
  6. What information do you want me to base my decision off of? The speculation of which Peters will show up, or the speculation of two players who haven't stepped onto an NFL field yet?
  7. A word I never get right without a spellchecker: misspell.
  8. It wasn't even close. Never is. And while I am 6-2, I think Mark's taller than I am and certainly in much better shape. My 225 pounds aren't exactly chiseled out of stone.
  9. He probably will. Thanks for the compliments, everybody. I was a spelling bee champion. I won a dictionary, the same one I use to this day. Infallible tripped me up one round before I would have qualified for Washington D.C.
  10. Not sure what the problem might be. Thanks for trying, though. Very nice of you to go out of your way to try.
  11. A dead, short, gay Italian?
  12. He's retired and back home in South Carolina. He's involved in local politics and public speaking.
  13. Also one of the overlooked elements of my story.
  14. Is it a Tommy Lasorda thread?
  15. I'm closing in on one million. But my rollerball is screwing up and I'm getting killed left and right.
  16. Not at all. I'm under contract, but the folks back in Bristol, Conn., do track page views and comments. For instance, I wasn't supposed to cover the NFL owners' meetings, but I had a string of posts that generated a lot of traffic right before the meetings. So they sent me because I was viewed as "a big producer."
  17. Thanks. I just went into my story to fix it, but one of our editors must have gotten to it.
  18. Thanks much for thinking to post it.
  19. WAIT! What's the record? I need to aspire to something!
  20. I don't know if Russ Brandon can be compared to any other executive in the league. We can't really go by titles because each team is different. For instance, Pioli was vice president of player personnel in New England. He is just general manager in Kansas City, but wields much more power than he did in New England. I have noticed that Russ Brandon is listed as COO/GM on some Bills materials, just COO on others.
  21. I don't have any personal insight because I never met Ms. Bogdan or was really exposed to her work in any great measure. She never was made available to the media at the draft like other scouts were (at least not at the five or six drafts I've been to). But if I hear anything I will pass it along.
  22. No need to thank me. I look forward to it every time I click on the bookmark.
  23. I'm fine with whatever anybody thinks is best.
  24. This was the first year with the new "inner circle." I'm not sure how it worked. Probably not much different than past years, but I'll probably hear some insight in the coming weeks. A lot of folks have asked what Wilson thought of the draft. Brandon said that Wilson was in the draft room, but we never heard from him.
