  1. I'm not saying this to knock Fitz, but if you had a top 10 qb under center, I think we are a 5-5 team atleast right now. That's why I personally put so much belief in one player.

Fitz having a defense that doesn't give up 300 yards on the ground every game is 5-5. He's not the problem right now.

  2. I don't care if this team wins games. For the first time in years this looks like an actual football team with competent coaches. Like every 2-8 team we obviously have our issues in places, more so on defense then anywhere else. Luck hasn't declared and likely won't with another 2 years of eligibility left. So what's the point in losing when we don't know if he's even going to be there. And even if he is this isn't the last draft ever that's going to have a good quarterback in it, just a guess.

All I cared about this season was seeing progress towards the end of the year, and I think we certainly have. We started off abysmal and had to endure some real pathetic games, but since then even our losses have been competitive and fun to watch, and I'd much rather be picking top 10 with this team going in a positive direction, then picking 1 or 2 and being like the Carolina Panthers or Arizona Cardinals who are absolutely AWFUL, and running the possibility of not even having the option to draft Luck after losing all year.

That said, awesome win today, Stevie Styles for President, and Go Bills.

  3. I almost want the Bills not to get luck to this bumbling dope will throw himself off a bridge. He is so consumed that it's either Luck or we're f'ed and that he is the only player that can turn the Bills into winners. It bothers me to no end listening to him talk about football, and it bothers me that this guy is paid to give a "professional" opinion about it.

  4. Totally agree. Just looked up their bowl game from last year (which I didn't see).

"...Razorbacks insisted they were unusually focused on this one. It didn't show. Arkansas' vaunted offense had the ball for only 22:05. Ryan Mallett was named most valuable player, but he went only 15 of 36 for 202 yards and a touchdown...Arkansas won despite going 0 for 13 on third down" (source:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/01/02/liberty-bowl-2010-arkansa_n_409513.html)

That's another example of what I"m talking about...0 for 13 on 3rd down??? WTF??

Maybe he'll play lights out in their bowl game this year? 0:)

I've seen all or part of every GA game this season except one. And as I mentioned earlier, Auburn's pass defense is easily the worst in the SEC...Trent Edwards could light them up.

Ok....so then why are you playing down Mallet so much and talking about how much of a STAR Murray is or will be based mainly off his performance against the worst pass defense in the conference? He's tough, but he tore apart a pass defense that everyone else does, and has the next best NFL receiver to throw to. That has nothing to do with Mallet, and like I said with Parker who is a similar build and had a much more gutsier performance then Murray, doesn't mean that he's a star and he's 2-3 years more experienced then Aaron.

  5. It was bad. They were having technical issues and stopping just short of blaming their callers for their own network's equipment problems. Add to that the fans' negativity towards the Toronto deal and the 0-8 record, and it was a bloodbath.

Today was bad. However, I'll be the first to say that I think both hosts are dopes, the people that were calling in were absolute block heads. I don't know why they take so many calls.

  6. I thought that was a list of potential guys we could take in the first round. Not our entire draft haha.

Hightower is pretty overrated right now, and I think most Bama fans would tell you that he is probably the lesser of the two between him and their other ILB Nico Johnson who is a year younger. Solid player but not worthy of top 10-15 IMO.

  7. I'd like to see him play a little more QB and a little less RB before anointing him a bonafide NFL QB prospect....

See: 129 rushes, 122 pass attempts.

Exactly this. While I do like his arm, it's a small sample size. Unfortunately Malzahn is not going to have him chuck when the offense they've been running has been nearly unstoppable.

  8. Oh thank God. A new uniform and all our troubles are over. Get freakin' real !Who gives a tiny rats ass what we wear ! just f#@%in' win !! Or at least move out or the basement. Holy crap can't believe this makes a thread, at least we ain't Detroit or the Raiders.

Look good play good. You've obviously never heard of it.

  9. A high rating without wins and offensive production means jack ****.

Congrats for playing hard, but you aren't the answer, Fitz. Win some games, then I'll be happy.

the point of the thread wasn't how he's leading us to the promise land, but an individual statistic. Tell us something we don't already know.

  10. Nix explained the reason they gave Kelsay an extension was that he was a part of a core of several good (but not great) players that set the tone for what they want everyone else to be.

it's pretty clear that, even though upgrading the OL was a priority, the guys they ranked high on their board were gone by the 9th pick. Except for Trent Williams, none of the OTs drafted after have shown much so far.

This has been beat to death. Trent Edwards looked good to very good until the real bullets started flying. They believed they could coach him up and minimize his tendencies by disguising the playbook. When that didn't work, they quickly cut their losses. Arguing hindsight 20-20 is fine, but doesn't change what happened.

Schobel drove them nuts with his lack of commitment. They went in a different direction based on a number of question marks and used most of their early draft picks on the defensive front 7. Please name a veteran player that was willing to come to Buffalo and that would have improved the pass rush this season...

Other than hiring a proven 3-4 DC and maybe an OC, what else you got?

I realize you're frustrated, we all are, but IMO they have a plan: build through the draft, recruit mid-level, experienced FAs, pay the players you think represent what you're building (on/off the field), and get rid of players that don't meet your objectives.

    POST OF THE YEAR.

  11. That is a stupid argument. Evans is a 1st round pick. However, you are likely to get another 4th rounder for him like Lynch. How would you translate that 4th round back to a starting WR?

Evans is a solid reciever on a crap team. How many wins better is Lee Evans going to make us this year and probably next year while the overhaul continues? Better for us to get 1 more pick for him rather then have a decent reciever go to waste on a losing team.

My thought is that evenutally either we figure out how to draft correctly, or eventually we get lucky and hit on a mid round pick. And the more of those we have the better odds we have on hitting.

  12. If Lynch has a good year the rest of the season for the Seahawks, and the 2012 conditional pick is as good as it could be, I heard that would be a 5th rounder. Wow, what a great deal, a 4th in 2011 and a 5th in 2012, for the 10th best running back (stats wise) in Buffalo Bills history, and he is only 24 or 25 years old to boot. If he keeps his stupid head on straight and decides he likes it in Seattle, he could be their premier RB the next 6 - 7 years or so. What kind of careers to you and Tim Graham predict that 4th round pick next year and that "extra" 5th round pick the year after that will have for the Bills, based on the recent drafting record of the Bills?

Now, if Lynch is going into a free agent year next season, then I suppose it was smart to get whatever they could for him. But the whole situation sucks for the Bills, just like the Peters situation sucked for the Bills. :bag:

    corrected.

You do know that Buffalo couldn't even get close with Philly on a third for Lynch right? One RB had to go and we took what we could get. Your logic makes sense, and I agree he should be worth more, but he wasn't and there was no point in keeping him and getting nothing out of it.

  13. It started with Edwards, and now Lynch. Lynch rejuvinated my energy for Bills football his first game when he ran over 3 Broncos in route to the end zone for his first TD. So now that we've traded him for probably some meaningless 4th round pick we can't stop there. Anyone who has signifcant value and that is expendable based off whatever depth we have at that position needs to traded . I'd hate to see Evans go because he has been the consimate(sp) professional since day 1, but he deserves better. There is no reason to hang on to guys when we are going to go 3-13 anyways. Tim Graham put it perfectly on Schopp and the Bulldog today, that whats the point in going 3-13 with no extra picks, when you can go 2-14/1-15 with picks to truely rebuild this team.
