  1. I wonder why Stevie and Jairus weren't named. Hmm, curious.

Probably because it was a conscious decision by the coaching staff to only have three captains. And Freddie, Wood, and Kyle are probably the three biggest leaders on the team. It doesn't have to be a slight against other guys you know.

  2. For the life of me I just don't get the "he can't play qb" crowd or all the hate toward this kid. He took the freaking Broncos to the playoffs, and beat the freaking Steelers. We all know his throwing issues. He is a winner who makes things happen who can win more games than he looses when given the opportunity.

He is good enough to play backup for the Bills. We need a veteran. We have an undrafted rookie as our only backup.

For the life of me, I don't get the crowd that still refuses to recognize that he's a terrible QB and has no future in the NFL at the position. He's not good enough to be a backup for any team in the league as evidenced by his getting booted off 3 teams in 3 years. Nobody wants him. I'd rather have Jeff Tuel than Tebow and its not even close.

How many more opportunities is Tebow supposed to be handed? He can't read a defense, can't throw, can't run an offense. But because he had a great college career, backed into the playoffs, had one good throw to a wide open receiver, and ESPN won't shut the hell up about him, he deserves yet another chance? He's the definition of an overhyped bum.

Sorry. It has been discussed numerous times in numerous threads over the years, but yes, he will only play QB.

Even after getting cut by the Pats*:

“I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an N.F.L. quarterback,” he (Tebow) wrote on Twitter.

Tebow's relentless pursuit of being an NFL QB is on par with a dog's relentless pursuit of its own tail.

  4. Our opener isn't billed as a leaguewide event. The NFL wants this game to be comparable to the Super Bowl.

Well it's not the Super Bowl. It's not being played on a neutral site. It's one of Denver's 8 home games. And it's not even like the game needs promotion in Denver. Broncos fans have been waiting for this rematch for 8 months. Nobody is going to be seeing those banners except people at the stadium, 98% of which will be Broncos fans. There's no reason to put Flacco on a banner in Denver. Use a Bronco, it's their stadium.

    Three questions:

    1) Are the Broncos the only team playing in this game?

    2) Do you think that there wont be any Ravens fans there?

    3) Do these banner change, in any way, Broncos homefield advantage?

It's a bad look. Let's just plaster a bunch of Brady and Pats stuff all over around the Ralph week one. Because after all, New England is playing and there will be Pats fans here. Sucks that Baltimore didn't get to open at home. But that's not Denver's fault. Who's benefit did they possibly think they were working towards when they came up with this idea?

if it was just Flacco I'd be pissed too, but it's no different than putting the pictures of the main event of the UFC up. I'd expect them to do it, don't know what Broncos fans are mad about.

There is no home field in a UFC fight. It looks pretty dumb having a game in Denver, that the Denver Broncos are playing in, in a stadium filled with Broncos fans, and then putting up a bunch of posters and promotional items of the other team.

  7. Ryan Mallett looks awful but then again it's not like he sees the field very often. I think his accuracy was better in college when he smoked weed.

I wish I could see that game. Would love to see Tebow come in and go 1-7 for -1 yard again and cement his spot on the cut list.

What ESPN does good is there offsite stuff. College Gameday for both Football & Basketball are top notch programs. Fox 1 Sports is trying to compete against College Gameday this fall. All I got to say is good luck. But your right, their in studio programing sucks.

Other than games, College Gameday before the football games is pretty much the only thing I really watch on ESPN. You're dead on about the studio programming sucking big time.
